Very disappointed with quality of my dinner. The service was very good but I ordered the yellowfin tuna which the menu described as sashimi grade. I ordered it rare. One I received my plate it was very obvious it was from frozen. Part of the tuna was cooked through and part of it was partially rare and the texture was not from fresh. I could also tell also by the coating which was supposed to be blackened was pre made. For the price of the plate I would expect better than upscale diner food which is the category I would put it under. read more

This was a very last-minute decision. We just popped in, hoping to get a table for three. Surprisingly they got us in within five minutes and while waiting the hostess was very nice and explaining to us the daily specials. There is an indoor and outdoor seating. The outdoor seating is very nice and well spaced out. We sat outdoor, but I could see indoor. The layout looked very nice and pleasant older style decor. The server was very knowledgeable, friendly, and just the right amount of attention not to bother us, but not to leave us at any moment waiting It is a BYOB which we didn't know. They do have some wine you can buy by the bottle we bought a bottle. It was OK. The food overall we found to be very good every step of the way the bread that they gave us to first starter was good then the appetizers. My daughter had the Barada salad, which was very good. I had tuna bites. They were excellent. For our main course, I had Cory's combo which is a seafood combo of flounder, scallops, crabcake, and shrimp. All of these I found to be very good. The crabcake in particular was full of lump crab, and not too much of the filler. It was very well done. My daughter had the black and prime rib with baked potato. It was excellent perfectly cooked nice and tender flavorful. My wife had the fillet which she frequently orders when we go out to dinner, this one did not disappoint the texture the way it was cooked the flavoring. The sides were all excellent. Hostess seemed ok. Seemed preoccupied and unhappy that the station is outside by the parking lot but it was ok, could be better. Like the format and inside. Salad was family style where they bring in a bowl for the table and then the dressings are in a bottle. Scampi pasta was good. The prime rib ordered medium rare was more on the medium side. It was decent and after eating seafood for the last few days, it hit the spot. I got spoiled by house of prime rib in sf and 4 Charles which were next level. Finally got to LBI with friends and stopped at The Beach House. The Pow Pow calamari with the chili sauce was excellent. I had the crab stuffed flounder. My wife had the stuffed shrimp and mentioned she needed the lemon to give it some juiciness back. Our group also had the seared scallops which were the best dish. This was our second time dining here. We dined here this past Sunday and were the first to arrive as they opened. It was empty at first but quickly began to fill up. The staff was all so friendly and welcoming. Our server was very attentive and the food was all served quickly. My fave were the clams casino and pow pow calamari. The homemade honey mustard salad dressing was amazing. They have limited on site parking and street parking fills quickly. We had reservations for 5pm Sat us immediately. The food was amazing! I had the shrimp and scallops penne with vodka sauce, I would highly recommend. My son had the scallop dish and he said it was the best scallops he ever had. My husband and a friend of ours had the seafood far diablo and it was delicious. My other friend had the prime rib and she said it was also delicious. Service was good but I think at the end of our meal she was a little overwhelmed with more tables at it took a little long for our check. The atmosphere was cozy only downfall is that there was 5 of us and we sat in a booth but we made it work. All in all it was a great experience with some really delicious food. WORST DINNER I'VE HAD ALL SUMMER I've been going to this restaurant for years, and while the food has always been average, my son really enjoys the scallops and bacon appetizer. Unfortunately, this visit was by far my worst experience. I ordered the chicken cutlet Parmesan special for $46, and my daughter ordered the regular chicken Parmesan for $42. Those are outrageous prices for a chicken cutlet dinner, but we were looking forward to having a good meal. When the dinners arrived, the chicken cutlet was clearly pre-made--not a freshly prepared, homemade cutlet. It tasted more like a large chicken nugget than a quality chicken cutlet. It was horrible and not at all what I expected for a $46 dinner. When the waitress asked how everything was, I honestly told her it was "VERY DISAPPOINTING." I then asked whether the chicken cutlets were pre-made or homemade. She never answered the question. Unfortunately, my frustration embarrassed my family, and what should have been a nice evening was ruined. To make matters worse, I left before the check came and my wife paid the bill. When we got home, we discovered that we had actually been given another table's bill and were overcharged. My wife then had to return to the restaurant to straighten out their mistake. What was even more disappointing was that they did not remove the charge for the dinner I couldn't eat. After years of going here, this experience was extremely disappointing. Between the poor quality of the food, the $46 price for a chicken cutlet dinner, the lack of an answer from the waitress, and then being charged another table's bill, this was an experience I won't soon forget. read more

My family of 5 and I stopped in on a summer weeknight and were able to be seated right away, which was an unexpected surprise. The food was delicious, my non-seafood eating kids who've outgrown the children's menu each found something they loved for dinner (ribs and chicken parm). The rest of us enjoyed our seafood pasta dishes and the steamed clams. The highlight of our experience was our server, Mark. He was friendly, attentive and gave great recommendations. The beach house is a very nice restaurant in LBI. We have come a few times to eat here for dinner for the past few years. Our waitresses have always been very attentive and kind. The food comes out relatively quick, you get bread & butter and family style salad to eat while you wait. I do love their effort to include vegan entrees, and this is hard to come by! I always get the vegan Pat's pasta with beyond sausage - broccoli, sun dried tomatoes, garlic and oil, you really can't go wrong. It's always very good and they give you a good portion. My only "gripe" is that it's pricey. BUT you are in a pricey area! So that is kind of to be expected. Overall I'd say beach house is a solid option amongst many in the southern end of the island. read more

I had dinner here while on vacation, and it was an good experience. The restaurant was busy, so I was relieved we had made reservations in advance. For starters, I enjoyed the Burrata Panzanella special. The dish was very tasty, with the cucumbers adding a nice crunch and the balsamic vinegar perfectly complementing the peaches. Although it was a bit heavy on the balsamic, I enjoyed it overall. Next, I had the crab cake a la carte with a side of fries. The crab cake was delicious, and the bisque sauce that accompanied it was a standout . The fries were also excellent. However, the portion size was quite small for the price. One tip: the inside of the restaurant can get very chilly, so it's wise to bring a light jacket. Unfortunately, I didn't have one and felt quite cold throughout my meal. We were really looking forward to visiting the Beach House but it was underwhelming. Their wine selection is limited, but I think you can bring your own stuff. The food is just okay, nothing to rave about. The calamari special app with kung pao sauce was our favorite. It tasted fresh and the sauce was delicious. The tuna special bites were also good. Our entrees were underwhelming. The swordfish special was overcooked and the side of rice had no flavor. The shrimp pasta was ok- the shrimp was good, buttery wine sauce was also good but the broccoli was mush and tasted like it was frozen. For the prices we expected more elevated meals, especially compared to other restaurants in the area. Everything was just ok, not what we expected from a seafood restaurant on the island. Our server was nice and checked on us an appropriate amount of times. The ambiance was also nice with the patio table and nice sunset behind us. We may give it another try for brunch but probably not worth visiting again for dinner. read more

These was so fresh and the bacon tasted like candy. Wife ordered the Conner combo. Jumbo shrimp and chicken with peppercorn brandy and cream with penne. Was def over creamed but did have a nice taste. I ordered Pats pasta dish. Jumbo shrimp sautéed with fresh tomatoes and sun dried tomatoes garlic broccoli with pasta. It was missing the sun-dried tomatoes and kinda was boring and not really flavored. Parking can be tough have to drive around a bit to find. Prices are high but they do use good ingredients. So glad that I took the chance and called for a last minute table. We sat outside at sunset, which was lovely. They have a big wrap around porch with ceiling fans that comfortably accommodated even our group of 6. Food was great. I always get nervous with market prices on menus but a) their seafood portion sizes are excellent and well worth the cost b) they include that day's market prices with the daily specials. Appreciated that extra touch. I had the seafood pasta dish with just scallops, no shrimp. They're happy to modify and very accommodating of allergies. There were tons of gluten free options. Started off rocky with who appeared to be an overworked waitress and ended up being so much fun. (We are a fun group and won her over.) From appetizers to salad to entrees to dessert - everything was prepared to perfection. There was ample table space to spread out and share and hold an ice bucket to chill our BYOB beverages. I want to start by saying the food and service by the waitstaff was wonderful! I got the chowder as well as the pistachio scallops and everything was cooked perfectly and tasted amazing. My waitress was also so lovely and really made the experience. On the other hand we started off very bumpy with a very rude hostess. Prior to arriving at The Beach House I looked online to see there were reservations available all night long. Because I didn't know how long getting there and parking would take I decided not to make a res and just head over to grab dinner. I showed up and I said I did not have a reservation but was looking for a table for one for dinner (I am here on a work trip). The hostess was immediately rude and standoffish - she proceeded to rudely say the earliest she could possibly take one person would be 8pm (it was currently 6:30pm). I mentioned seeing so many reservation spots available online but accepted as they might have been taken in the time it took me to get there (I also was a hostess for many years so know things can quickly change in schedules). On my way to my car I looked online again and saw that in fact all reservations were still available. I decided to go back and inquire because I was hungry and honestly wanted to try the restaurant (also being 7 months pregnant and having traveled all day, I really didn't want to get back in the car and search for another place). She again rudely told me there wasn't availability for me. So I asked if someone were to book a reservation online and show up what would happen as it says they would have a reservations and she just replied with "I don't know". Finally another hostess came over and upon the other hostess leaving the booth she helped me make a reservation for 7:30 which I gladly said I would just wait for that one. Shortly into waiting for my table another women walked up to the hostess stand and did not have a reservation but asked for a table for 2. The 'not so nice hostess' was beyond accommodating to her and told her she could also be seated by 7:30pm with no problems. Which very much rubbed me the wrong way and made me feel extremely unwelcome here since she has been so rude to me over a table for 1. At 7:05pm the sweet hostess came over and said my table was ready and took me to a perfect little spot on the deck. There were multiple other tables available on the deck at this time. The couple seated behind me also left probably 5 min into me sitting down and no one ever took their table over so clearly they were not booked and they most definitely could accommodate one person prior to 8pm. I had a lovely meal and was done eating by 8:15pm and on my way. While my food was delicious I likely wouldn't come back due to this rude hostess as it was very off putting and made me initially feel extremely unwelcome here for no reason at all. read more

I have had a hankering for the dessert again and just ordered it take out. The owner remembered me a gave me it for no charge. That was so nice . It wasn't needed. It was an honest mistake. The beach house is an absolute staple for LBI! The server was great seating us with a toddler no problem, and offered a booth with end for him to sit which was great. The place is a classic beach Italian set up, with dining outside and plenty of room in the dining room as well. Overall very nice environment. My go to dish is the seared scallops with wasabi honey mustard! Nice seared crust on the scallops, paired with the perfectly tangy mustard sauce with a kick in the back end from the wasabi. Their pasta entrees are delicious as well, and all sauces seem to be made to order. Overall this is a must go place upon every visit to LBI, if not the first place I'm looking to go! read more

Never can leave LBI without having dinner at THE BEACH HOUSE. The ambience is inviting (inside or outside dining). Our recent visit was excellent as always. Started off with soup and clams on the half shell. The salad for two was plentiful. My go-to dish is the seared scallops and they were cooked to perfection as well as the side dish of couscous. The owner is very friendly and will stop and chat. She has very pretty and interesting plantings around the restaurant. Our server Denise was efficient and friendly. Now to the important part, the food. We started with the tuna and calamari. Both were delicious. The calamari was servers over the marinara sauce and was so flavorful. I ordered Corey's Combo all was tasty, but the crab cake was the clear winner. It's mostly crabmeat with very little fillet. It was delicious. This was one of my favorite dishes here. Stuffed flounder. Menu had market price, 50.00, which is fine as long as they aren't increasing price and giving you 1/2 the portion. When this came to the table I felt the piece of flounder was half ( split down center )and crab meat added to the middle. Definitely NOT stuffed flounder. Looks more like a pinwheel presentation. I definitely don't mind paying more for dishes, but then there's the feeling of taken advantage of a customer. I get we had Covid and there are price increases but don't rip off a consumer! I also had to ask for a clean wine glasses as both of our glasses weren't clean! I said something to the waitress so she could add some input to the owners.
