I'm writing this Yelp review from a second hand perspective and I can testify to the results of the visit. My wife has been yearning for a scalp massage ever since she viewed this spa treatment from YouTube. Unfortunately, time and circumstances prevented her from being able to experience this indulgence, however, the opportunity came as a surprise as we were able to sneak away for some much needed self care. Stresses of life and a change in circumstances prompted the need to seek this respite. So, on a whim we headed to Orange County and I took up the challenge to find an establishment that can fulfill her needs. Using my Yelp intuition I found Stella Spa!!! The scalp masseuse was an absolute symbol of serenity and peace as she proceeded to use her talented phalanges to remove the stresses from the tresses. She took great care to ensure a memorable experience. I signed her up for the Stella treatment, the works. Afterwards, she came out smiling and walking lighter than before. Her skin was smooth like butter, and her hair smelled heavenly. I asked if you would come back for another treatment and without hesitation, she said "Yes!" One of the previous review mentioned that they came up from San Diego and enjoyed their treatment, which caused me to select this candidate among many. Price: $115 for the Stella Package (75 min) I booked online for two people the week of our visit. A deposit was required at booking, with a 2-day cancellation policy. We arrived about 15 minutes early and there weren't anyone at the front desk to greet us, so we waited on the couches until closer to our appointment time. There's a restroom if you walk past the curtains, which I recommend to use before the hour-long pampering session begins. When it was our turn, we were led to a private area behind a blackened curtain for two. I recommend wearing a tank top if you want to avoid removing any clothing. They positioned us on convertible chairs, placed a pillow under our legs, and covered us with a warm blanket. The experience started with a scalp massage then they will wash your hair. After cleaning our hair, they sealed it in an inflatable bag with a hair treatment and steamed our scalps. While this was happening, they cleansed our faces and applied a thick, cooling mask (paste-like). This was followed by a gentle face massage, a quick jade roller treatment, and application of face lotion. After the hair and face treatments, they positioned us upright on the chairs for a neck and shoulder massage. Finally, they blow-dried our hair and offered us a small bottle of water before we left. Overall, this was a very satisfying experience. They don't explain the procedure to you so it's pretty quiet in there, which might actually make it more relaxing for you. I appreciated that they were able to accommodate us in the same space, separate from other customers. Stella HeadSpa was more affordable compared to other head spas I considered. Stella deserves all the stars! I liked this place SO much better than Yangsiguan in San Gabriel, with their "chair massage and fancy tools." Don't believe the hype and come here instead! I did the 60 minutes for $105, and it was totally worth it. It was literally 3 services rolled into 1! A facial, upper body massage, and hair/scalp treatment. My lady was the one in the picture, failed to get her name, but she was super sweet and thorough. Started with the face massage, deep scalp massage, and light neck/shoulder massage. She cleansed my face 2 times and then put a nice thick mask. Then we went into the hair/scalp wash, nice double-cleanse. She peeled off my mask and used frozen jade rollers, and rinsed. Took my mom here for her birthday and the staff is very friendly. However, the hair studio and the head spa area is separated only by a curtain. Meaning, everyone can hear everything within the space-- while getting our massages/facials, we could hear people getting their haircut, the phone machine, etc. It's not as relaxing as having your own separate room. The facial and scalp massage itself were relaxing, however, it's a very steep price imo. I paid over $200 for both of us, and in the package it included a facial, gua sha use, scalp massage, double shampoo, conditioner, and a blowdry session after. There weren't really any outside tools used other than the gua sha and the conditioner/shampoo, so I'm not sure if it was worth the price. Overall though, it was a pleasant experience. read more

My friends and I booked the Astra package. None of us had been to a head spa before. Let's start with the pros... - Relaxing - Fantastic head and shoulder massage - Scalp brushing and viewing are a must! My scalp felt refreshed after and looked way less irritated compared to before. - Super soft & shiny hair after! Cons.... - Poor sanitation (hairbrushes were not sanitized between customers, and stored in a drawer clearly labelled "soiled"). They only sanitized the scalp viewer probe between customers. - No description or info on the products used or brands. I can understand minimizing talking during the treatment to maintain the quiet atmosphere, but perhaps some written information could be made available in the spa or on the website? - Facial was rather odd. I've never had someone drip water on my face to rinse cleanser off. Most estheticians use warm towels or cotton pads. - Poor communication far beyond the expected language barrier, as in our booking it was not noted that we were purchasing the package. This led to a lot of confusion about the price and payment. The staff actually requested me, the customer to call the person who did our booking to assist. It was resolved satisfactorily but it was a somewhat chaotic ending to a relaxing treatment. FYI the water jet arc people keep posting on social media, pictured on the spa website, was not used during our treatments. It is available for private services only. Doesn't matter to me but if you're looking for that, our treatments used just a regular handheld showerhead. For the discounted package price, the services included are adequate and quite enjoyable, but the sanitation is a major issue. Regardless of the sanitation problem, at the non-discounted individual treatment price I am not so sure it would be worth it. read more

Came in not knowing what to expect - which I hope they could laugh off as I didn't know how to put on the towel thing and had to be helped haha. We were able to book a last minute appointment for a girls day this past Sunday at 10am (there were 4 of us!) The location is in a strip mall, so there is no issue with parking. The inside is essentially a large room and they're able to separate the # of beds with ceiling to floor cloth curtains, so it's not necessarily sound-proof between clients, but they have some signs throughout to keep quiet and they have soft, relaxing music playing in the background. We had such a nice experience here. We couldn't stop talking about the stellar services and most all of us are already planning our return trip with family/friends. This is a no-frills type of place - there's no extra amenities (like massage chairs, relaxation rooms, drinks, etc), but the space is perfect for the services they provide and the products they use are good quality and effective. All four of us got the Stella service for 75 minutes for $115 (we ended up being there for about 90 minutes including the hair blow dry). They used a variety of Paul Mitchell products, including the Tea Tree shampoo for the extra tingle and lather (my favorite!), as well as a very strong and effective lavender essence oil for relaxation. My favorite parts of this service were the hair mask, face mask, cool rollers, and upper body massage. Two of the girls fell asleep during the service! The ladies working on us were very nice, efficient, and pretty consistent between all of us. Would highly recommend Stella Headspa for a day of relaxation alone or with friends. From the moment I got there, the ladies were very welcoming and attentive. They made sure that I was comfortable before starting my treatment. This was my first time coming to this location. I have been to Luvinage, which is another head spa, but I wanted to try Stella Headspa because it is not as crowded. I visited last Monday because I had the day off for Lincoln's birthday. I booked the Stella treatment and loved everything about it. I don't remember the name of the lady that took care of me, but she had red hair and bangs. She washed my hair, massaged my scalp, gave me a facial, massaged my shoulders and arms, etc. She was gentle with my head and applied the right amount of pressure during the massages. I almost fell asleep because I felt so peaceful. I don't know what scent(s) were used for the aromatherapy, but they smelled so good and I felt as if I was under a spell. Honestly, I actually like Stella Headspa more than Luvinage. When I went to Luvinage, it was crowded even on a weekday. At Stella Headspa, I saw a customer leaving with a smile on her face as I was coming in and I was the only customer there at my appointment time. Therefore, I really got to enjoy my service. I don't know how busy this place is on the weekends, but I'd like to try next time I come here. By the way, just a tip for any potential customers: if you have any questions or concerns, feel free to call Stella Headspa ahead of time. Or if you really want to ask them questions in person, at least try to use a quiet voice. Towards the end of my appointment, there was a lady who came in to ask the manager a bunch of questions and she was a little loud. It threw me off a little bit. I should have read the 1 star reviews before trying this place. I had the 30 minute "treatment" for $70. 20-25 minutes washing my hair with a strong shampoo that involved scratching and 1 minute of scalp massage. 5-10 minutes of shoulder massage. The brushes they used were placed back into a drawer full of other brushes - it was not sanitized before or after using it on me?!? Disgusting. I hope I don't get any scalp issues, bacteria, or infection transferred to me from their other clients. For the price, you can go to a LEGITIMATE hair salon that will give you a better scalp massage and cleaning, or a 1 hour full body Thai massage. This place fails at both the hair and the massage. I don't think they have training in either. The people are nice, but that doesn't mean they deserve business. read more

The ladies here do not have proper training, every tech does something different from scratching to kneading to turning on the water before temperature is set. Its just all around horrible.
