BEWARE!!!! There is literally no such thing as an ON TIME appointment at this place. It doesn't matter what time your appointment is they will come up with 100 trillion reasons why they are running late. The actual reason for their tardiness is greed over promptness. Rather than prioritizing thier regular customers who make appointments they would rather capture any and every one who walks through the door making the loyal customer wait anywhere from a half hour to an hour for their scheduled appointment. This lack of respects affects all scheduled customers for the day. I called for an appointment for Wednesday, March 25, 2026 @ 12:00pm. I am a repeated customer several times!!! I was nearly up for a free pedicure that they offer on their business cards. I spoke with Moon and scheduled this appointment. When I arrived, I spoke with Tony who is the receptionist who is very rude, nasty, unprofessional and does not give customer service. He was telling me, I could not get my nails done. Moon then began to speak with him in their language. Johnnie than began to do my nails at 12:30pm. When you ask for something specific, they will add other things that you did not ask for and will charge you. For an example, I specifically asked for acrylic nail fill and then Johnnie added gel on my nails without my request and charged me $60.00. I walked out of there with my nails looking beautiful but within that same week, they were chipping and lifting! After he finished, I then waited to get my pedicure, and I did not get my pedicure until waiting one hour later. They were allowing walking customers go ahead of me. A white man came in, and he took him immediately. I continued to wait patiently because I had an event to go to. I stated to a woman I was talking to that I have to find a woman of color to patronize and give my money to, because these vietnamese people do not appreciate us. They just want our money! We keep them in business and put food on their tables and pay their bills! No customers no business! I am going to recommend DeMilo's DeMilo's. Her ig is demiloshouseofnails. She is located on 43rd and Crenshaw. She offers all type of unique services. She is reasonable and gives excellent service with beautiful nails, quality work and has quality products. There are too many nail shops in Los Angeles to take this type of behavior from anyone! I would not leave a star if I was able to! If I could give 0 stars, I would. A 10-minute wait turned into 30 minutes. The nail tech spent the whole time talking down on L.A people, while comparing it to New York (where he's from) Worse than the attitude was the quality: he couldn't even shape a basic coffin nail, and when I complained, he asked me, "Why would you pick a hard shape to do?" He did uneven shapes on my nails- horrible job. The pedicure was completely rushed and looked terrible. Two days later, two of my nails popped off. What a waste of $115. I love coming here on a Sunday afternoon to chill while getting my nails done by Hannah and a pedicure with her son. I recently had an appointment and although Hannah was able to start my manicure right away, I had to wait on my pedicure as her son was engaged with another client. However after letting Hannah know I had an appointment with both of them, he stopped what he was doing and moved over to me. My gel builder nails always last a long time. I can go at least 3 weeks before needing a fill. This definitely keeps me coming back. If I could change anything, I wish the environment was MORE RELAXING and less talking between the technicians. I would love to be able to really relax instead of listening to the often loud interactions that take place. The shop is clean, prices competitive and my nails last. I came in for a pedicure FILL, waited over 45 minutes. they charge me the same price as a pedicure which is completely inaccurate. I had got acrylic only on the big toes with gel, I came in and asked to just get regular polish, I get the same lady who did my toes last time. She starts making little drills on ALL of my toes then decides to tell me it's $5 extra to take the gel off AFTER she drilled all over my toes. Then the guy at the front desk comes and tells me "well it's your choice you can go home or continue" so it's my fault neither of you did your jobs properly? so then instead of making a scene I tell him it's fine and to not yell at the lady even though she was wrong and he just put his hand in front of my face and said no let me do my job. He also tried to say you come here all the time you should know the prices, which is completely uncalled for because I hadn't been there for OVER A YEAR. so to tell me I should know the prices? Just disrespectful. She finally does all my toes which were fine but the right big toe was still messed up she kept blaming the acrylic even though it was HER WORK and she just repainted it and didn't bother to actually fix it with a drill or re-put acrylic! I had been going to Moon at Stella Nails for over a year and a half. We'd always gotten along; she once emphasized how important customer satisfaction was, even offering to test colors and designs, which I appreciated. But during a recent visit, her tone completely shifted. I brought in an image of a design with a backup option and asked if she could test one nail first, she agreed and did. She also asked me to write down my color choices in advance, which I did. Midway through, she seemed rushed, cut my nails much shorter than usual, and claimed I "always" get them that way and "always complain" about fingertip burning, neither of which is true. When a color I chose was out of stock, she yelled at me to pick another. When I asked if she'd redo a mismatched nail, she snapped "no." At the end, Moon told me angrily she would no longer do my nails and that I should go to another tech. I stayed calm and asked why; she said I kept her client waiting. I reminded her I've waited for her plenty of times. (I've waited upwards of 45 minutes). Later, when I reached out to the manager, he told me Moon said I "always waste her time." I was shocked. I honestly think she confused me with another client based on how she cut my nails too short and claimed I complain about burning--neither of which fit my history. The manager apologized and let me return to fix the mismatched nail at no charge, but the experience left a bad taste. After being a loyal client, I was shocked to be treated with such disrespect and disregard. No customer deserves that. I won't be returning. read more

My most recent visit was a little odd. I got the same thing as last time pretty much and was charged $10 extra dollars. With tip, I ended up paying $100. That's incredibly steep for a manicure, in my experience anyways. Design was perfectly done by Nancy (showed her an inspo pic & she nailed it, pun intended) My only issue with my manicure was I got my cuticles trimmed after having the acrylics and powder put on so after I left, there was already a gap between the acrylics and my nail bed. Pretty annoying. I usually get the cuticles cleaned before any kind of acrylic or powder addition so I'm not sure why they were trimmed after. Unfortunately I'm not sure I will be returning anytime soon because I believe I am being misled a tiny bit. I got 2 very expensive manicures already and haven't been able to get any stamps on my card because I didn't "tip in cash". I noticed another client getting what I was getting plus a pedicure and her total was $55. I'm extremely confused and feel like I'm just being overcharged. Manicures are 100% a luxury but they were never something I couldn't afford & now apparently they are. I would definitely make sure you double check the prices of everything before getting anything done so no extra charges are sneaked in. I use to be a loyal costumer going to them for pedicures only since they last forever. But, I just recently started to go for a basic acrylic nail set and both times they lied saying they could give me something they obviously couldn't achieve. This time they gifted me with acute paronychia on my right thumb. The only good nail artist is Tony, the rest are rude and obviously don't care for cleanliness or customer service. I could tell she knew what she was doing and she recommended color combinations. We even tried a gold stencil, but it was too busy with the silver glitter. She was fine with taking it off because I didn't like it. Mindy took her time and was personable. I didn't know until the end that she was the Owner. My regular pedi was good too. In December, I took my 95 year old aunt to my nail shop the day before her best friend's funeral. The next day, at the repast, I noticed that several of her nails were chipped. I took her back to the nail shop 3 days later. I told the mgr/owner that her nails didn't last even 1 day. I explained that she wanted gel this time so they would last. He and the nail tech conversed in their language then he says it will cost $25. I told him that he should accommodate his customers when the polish chips right away. I also pointed out that I had been coming there for years and that I had to bring her back in the pouring rain. He said the best he could do would be to charge us $20. I told him that I would pay it but I would NOT be coming back to Stella Nails. He said that's fine, that's fine... about 3 times. He was dismissive and condescending. I paid the $20 and I tipped the nail tech. I wrote all of this to say WE have to shop/spend our money consciously. He was very comfortable dismissing me and my Black dollars because he has plenty of business but I will NEVER patronize Stella nails again!! There are far too many nail shops for me to continue going to one with such poor customer service!! They have to learn and we are the ones to teach them!! Your Black dollars matter! He argued with me in front of everyone asking me who did my nails I didn't know it was my second time there and didn't get her name. He told me it could've been shampoo or dishes. This is my second time coming and I loved the service the first time. This time was a terrible experience. I came with my two girls who were also getting serviced. I told them what I wanted for my girls and they continuously tried to change their service. One daughter was getting dip powder. The lady kept trying to get her to put tips on or do gel x. They asked like 5 times until I got irritated and they stopped asking. When it came time for her pedicure, the gentleman proceeded to take her dip powder off her nails and then they said he didn't know. With my nails, my middle nail is crooked and the lady tried to convince me that it wasn't. I got gel x and usually you get a manicure with the service, here they do not. I have glue built up in the sides of my nails, under my nails are dirty and my cuticles are not cleaned. I spent $219 for terrible service. The salon was extremely clean and the ladies were nice. The woman on my toes was making love to my feet. My pedicure looks amazing and I'm very happy with the result. She took her time and paid attention to detail. Now for my nails- she was also really nice but she cut wall my cuticles with the drill and I was bleeding on 5 fingers across both hands. When i mentioned it she was apologetic but proceeded to use alcohol on them and it stung. Also mentioned She was doing me a "favor" getting my cuticles. I have been coming to this nail salon for a couple of years. I arrived early for my appointment and was seated. I was told that my nail tech had a family emergency and had to leave. After sitting with my feet in and out of the water for close to an hour and the owner continually coming over and telling me another tech would be taking care of me, I decided to leave. This service was supposed to be a treat from my daughter as part of my birthday gift. On top of the disappointment of not getting my mani & pedi, I watched the nail tech leave with two large trash bags containing her supplies. I found out that she came in to work and the owner terminated her while I was there for my appointment. No regard for the customer and the employee. How do they expect customers to support this awful behavior and disrespect. Very disheartening, disrepectful and disappointing!! Nail salons are a dime a dozen. I'll spend my money at a salon that doesn't over book and shows respect for the clients time. Very bad business practices!! How cute are these! I first came here two weeks ago and I returned because of what a good job they did. Nancy did my pedicure and Mindy did my full set. Both ladies work great. There was a customer today who got upset because she was waiting 15 minutes (they told her it'd be a 30 min wait) but what can you expect if you don't make an appointment :) I made an appointment both times and each time I was helped within 5 minutes of arriving. I hate to leave such a bad review but this nail salon sent me to urgent care for one nail and then today I found out I had fungus growing under the dip on another nail. I took a chance on this salon since it was close and I couldn't make it to my usual one before a trip. My experience in salon itself was fine. The nail techs talked me into doing a dip powder nail which I had never done before. During the manicure process they cut my cuticles very close though. They were sore, hurt, and some of them were bleeding. I'm not one to complain much and thought maybe that was just the process for dip nails. Within 24 hours the skin around my ring finger nail was red, inflamed, and hurt so bad I had to wrap 3 bandaids around it to cushion it because contact with anything made me yelp in pain. Since I was on a trip and arrived to the city late, I had to go to urgent care the following day and was on antibiotics for a week to treat the infection. Today I went to go get the dip off at my normal salon. When the tech looked at my nails she asked me where I had got these done because no one at their store would have ever done such a poor job. She commented on how they put way too many layers of dip on my nails. I had noticed there was also a small grey stain at the corner of my nail and though I had scuffed it on something. My nail tech told me she thought it was fungus and after taking off the many layers, she was right. You can see in my attached photos that they made a deep cut into my nail. My tech told me that they were probably using unclean tools so they made the cut, painted over it, which then trapped bacteria inside and caused mold to start growing. I felt bad leaving a review like this before because maybe the infection had been a bit of a two party situation and I could have taken care of my wounds better, but the fungus growing under the dip powder was no fault of my own. Please be wary of the services here, if you are willing to travel to Sawtelle Avatar nails is great and I have never had a problem with them in the last 3 years. I have learned my lesson giving a place like this a shot. read more

The salon has been in the neighborhood and it was nice to hear that they did gel x. Based on the reviews, I got a gel x from Mindy. She did a good job on the design. The pedicure was mediocre but good. However the NEXT DAY three of my nails broke. Snapped right off. I got one of them fixed but the other two broke off after they were closed. I asked her a number of times to ensure that she was securing the glue bond so the nails would stay. She said, if it breaks that she'll fix it. I didn't want her to fix it, I wanted three nails not to break in less than 24 hours. Mindy is lovely and great at design but this is not worth the time. I asked for a refund and they gave me a refund for her service. I will not return to this shop. And I advise anyone who gets Gel X to find a shop with better supplies. read more

They offer a small price break this way instead of individually ordered. They actually set a massage timer for 10 minutes. They offer so much more then the standard pedicure.
