I opted for the collagen gel pedicure because I was looking forward to a relaxing and soothing experience, especially the leg and foot massage portion. Unfortunately, the experience was anything but relaxing. The nail tech repeatedly massaged the tops of my feet and legs extremely hard, even after I politely asked multiple times for her to be gentler and instead focus on the bottoms of my feet and my calves. I eventually explained to another employee that I have fibromyalgia, and when my pain is triggered it can affect my entire body. Although this was apparently relayed to the nail tech, she only adjusted her pressure briefly before returning to being rough again. To make matters worse, the pedicure water was cold. When I asked if hotter water could be added, the technician seemed irritated and reluctantly brought over water from an electric kettle. I was honestly surprised the foot tubs did not have proper hot water access built in. The massage chairs were outdated and barely functioning, which added to the disappointment. This was the Friday before Mother's Day, and I simply wanted to treat myself to a peaceful, calming pedicure. Instead, I left stressed, uncomfortable, and physically hurting. When I paid, the gentleman at the front asked about my experience and brought over a woman I believe was part of management. Her solution was to suggest that I "call ahead next time" and request someone less rough. That response felt dismissive considering I had already voiced my concerns multiple times during the service. Overall, I felt unheard, uncomfortable, and disappointed by both the service and the lack of care shown when concerns were raised. I will not be returning. read more

It defeats the purpose of booking together if you're not accommodated at the same time. At one point, they even asked another customer to switch chairs after their service had already started, which felt disorganized. The service felt rushed, lasting only about 5-10 minutes, and the quality reflected that. I had to ask more than once to have my nails trimmed shorter, and overall it didn't feel thorough. My friend also had a disappointing pedicure experience. During her foot massage, the technician was distracted--talking to other staff and even texting on her phone. At times, she was massaging with one hand while using her phone with the other, which felt unprofessional and inattentive. Overall, it felt like the focus wasn't consistently on the customer. When you're in the chair, the expectation is to receive attentive, uninterrupted service--not to compete with personal conversations or phone use. Busy nail salon. Small and quick to turnover the chair for the next person. Started by removing nail polish on a small side table and then moved to a regular chair for pedicure when the next one was available. Wait wasn't long. As soon as I was done getting prepped at the side table, I moved to the regular chair. Gel mani was ok $60. I did as chrome but didn't see how much add on it was. There's bumps and my nail shape isn't very even. Got a mini hand massage at the end which was as short as me putting on hand lotion on. Pedi was average. Massage wasn't good or bad but short, didn't seem like a timer was set. As soon as I was done they put on my slippers and had me on my way. Since I did regular polish on my toes, I thought maybe they would let it dry for at least 5-10 minutes but they signaled me to head out as soon as I was done so perhaps maybe they put on some miracle topcoat that dries quick? Had high hopes for this place. I was really hoping they would do a great job. I literally just left and I'm beyond annoyed. I got gel x and a pedi. My Pedicure was finished in 5 mins!! I had to tell the lady to file my toes straight because she put no effort and she cut my toe. Then I was rushed to pick a color for my toes and I told them that's the quickest pedicure I've ever had I didn't even get a chance to look at the colors. Then for my nails, they look nothing like the design I asked for a simple flower I wanted to start small because I wanted to see how they handle designs and so glad I did because my nails are not cute. Also, I originally wanted nude nails but didn't like the nude color so I asked for a deep color. The nail tech tells me oh I see you change your mind a lot, I told her yes if I'm spending my money I want my nails done right and not rushed. The polish isn't even glossy like. The flowers is horrible and she kept saying something about the gel. So I asked her is the flower hard for her, she told me she does them all the time. Hmm ok never coming back here I was rushed, hands shoved. I showed up 15 mins early and was very polite. This experience was not relaxing and I hate my nails. Had an overall good experience here getting a gel manicure and regular pedicure. The nail tech who was working with my feet was a bit rough and struggled with understanding communication when I asked her to please be gentle as I have very sensitive feet/nerve damage. The nail tech that worked on my hands was great, understood clearer. The techs are primarily women, I met the manager who rang me up and was really nice who is a male. They validate your parking for free. This location is a really nice spot and you can see water and the harbor through the window of the shop, which was really relaxing. I've been living in Los Angeles for several years now which also means that I've been on a hunt for a staple nail bar I could consistently go to and love. There's been a lot of ups and downs throughout my journey of finding something that is decently affordable, in a good location for parking, and has friendly staff who are also talented in nail designs. After several years, my journey has finally come to an end once I stepped foot into 12Twelve Nail Bar. The actual establishment is quite small, but the parking is doable (has validation). I love how the nail bar overlooks the Marina, it's quite stunning. My only thing I would give advice about is to be aware of how busy it can actually get. There's almost no walk-ins available and you will have to make appointments in order to get your nails done. With that being said, there's usually still a wait regardless of an appointment or not so make sure you go on a day that you have time to spare. I want to also highlight two phenomenal nail artists, Tammy and Amber. I have quite sensitive nail beds where I easily get in pain as they're filing my nails and often complain about getting cut through the grinding process. Amber and Tammy are not only incredibly creative in their work and are exquisite in their attention to detail, but they are also very gentle with your nails as well. I truly appreciate their craftsmanship and consider them true, nail artists. read more

I love this nail salon. I used to work in the area and now live about 20 minutes away but I take the time to drive to marina del rey to get my nails done here because they do such a good job. Plus the plaza is right on the water so you can get your nails done with an ocean view ! The staff is so friendly and so good at nails. Highly recommend to everyone! I've had my nails done by Amber and Rachel before (both incredibly talented), but I've been loyal to Tammy who transformed my sad little claws into elegant works of art. I have been here a few times now and am very happy each time with my nails. I don't have a specific tech that I go to since I usually decide last minute to go, but the ones I've had have done a great job. I usually get the "cozy cashmere" color and sometimes add white pearl chrome. It's a beautiful milky nude. The "vibe" - normal busy nail salon but since it is in the Marina, if the shades are up you can see the waterfront. It's pretty nice and parking can be validated there. read more

I recently moved to LA and was looking for a new nail salon. I called here ahead of time to confirm pricing since I already had dip gel on my nails. Over the phone, they quoted me $65 to get them redone and assured me there would be no extra charge for remova/redo. When I came in for my appointment, the nail tech immediately got frustrated, saying dip takes too long to remove and that she would need to charge me extra. I explained that I had been told over the phone there was no removal fee, and after going back and forth she finally said she wouldn't charge me--yet she spent most of the appointment complaining about management, phone pricing, and customers. She even said she would have to charge me extra because I have longer nails. (see photo for nail length) On top of that, she was speaking angrily in Vietnamese to another employee, and when I translated on Google, it confirmed she was upset they couldn't upsell me since I was quoted over the phone. This made the entire experience extremely uncomfortable. When I asked for a simple nail design (a white French tip with black lines, see photo reference), she quoted me $40 just for the design. The black lines came out sheer, so I politely asked for a double coat. She refused, saying she only does single coat, so I told her to just leave the French tips instead. She got even more upset, yelled at another employee, and continued complaining. The salon itself is beautiful and clearly capable of nice designs, but the customer service and experience was awful. Between the hidden fees, the frustration from the tech, and the overall negativity, it was one of the most stressful nail appointments I've ever had. Unfortunately, I won't be coming back. Good news: When 12 12 opened, they were very good. Current update: Since that time, the nail technicians have been extremely agressive with my natural nails. While one lady had me wait for my pedicure to dry, another tried to rush me out of my seat. Two of my daughters have now complained of being roughly handled, while getting a full acrylic set of nails, on separate occasions. Another technician stood over my daughter while she gave the online tip. The jig is up and we're finding a new salon. It's a hassle and a bummer, but I will not sacrifice what should be a peaceful, relaxing hour. read more

I had a wonderful experience here! I have been trying for a while to find a good manicure spot. I like fun and seasonal nails and they did just astounding work here. I had a gel manicure with design, by Cindy (I believe), and I had a detox pedicure but I do not remember who I got my pedicure from. My manicure (pictured on my page) was $70 and my pedicure was $48, and for the quality of service, I couldn't be happier. I got a wonderful and thorough pedicure. The salon is quite small with a lot of people so it is noisier. If you'd like a more relaxed experience, I'd totally recommend bringing headphones or ear plugs. Unfortunately after being a loyal customer I have to find a new nail salon. I had a complicated nail design that kept losing gems and the top coat was peeling off. I went back 4 times to fix it and finally asked can I just remove it and a small discount be applied to the next nail design. They told me they would ask the owner and would get back to me that evening. When they didnt respond to me I messaged again and they said I could try to come in in two days and see if they wanted to give me a discount then. I told them I'm extremely busy and I need to have a time to come in and know ahead of time what they are going to do or else I need to find someone that can handle doing my nail designs. They told me just find somewhere else they don't feel like dealing with this. I spend probably $2500+ at this salon a year. No problem I'm happy to spend that elsewhere. read more

I went here for the first time and absolutely love it! The place is clean and they do go the extra step with the service. I had a nail chip within the first week of getting them done (not necessarily anyones fault- it happens) but i called and they fixed it for free and even did another protective coat on all my nails to be safe. Just spent $27 on the laziest manicure ever. You know I guess it was worth it to be reminded that I do not like coming here. The service is so hit or miss. My nails are all broken from gel, but I wanted them to at least be cleaned up. They said they wouldn't do builder gel to add length, which is fine. I told her I didn't want artificial tips, so she literally spent 5 minutes on my nails and said "ok?" She didn't even file them evenly until I asked. I know they're short and broken but even a man can get a manicure that will look better than this. It was so lazy, no buffing or anything, didn't even bother to take off the clear polish that is still on 3 nails. I got the manicure 5 minutes ago, this is in the car on the way home. Does this look like $27 worth of a manicure? I mentioned it to the front desk woman, who is always sweet and did offer to have her file them again (which isn't even really the problem), but honestly should've acknowledged that it was just lazy. But I just went in for a repair of two nails that broke less than two weeks after my hard gel appointment and they tried to tell me I need to get fills every week. EVERY WEEK for hard gel?? (I was getting Russian manicures from Nail Club LA and they would last a month.) For $65 dollars, and no cuticle treatment, I think it should last longer than a week. However, my gel manicure looked unfinished. The coats were uneven and bubbly, and it looked a week grown out when I left my appointment. After 6 days, it has chipped.
