Do Not Purchase Horses from these people. They are liars. In April 2018, I purchased a…read more"Morgan/Friesian" gelding from these people of Enchanted Acres. I was told that he was well trained, can do trails, and there was a blurry picture of Mr. Hoar riding the gelding on the ad. They gave me a cock and bull story that it was the previous owner's dream to have a Friesian and he had this gelding for about 1 1/2 years until the man died of a heart attack. The widow was not into horses and just wanted him sold. This was all a lie. This horse was not a Friesian mix. Due to my own injury, I could not ride when I met the horse. He was very thin for his build (920 pounds at 15.1) but the gelding begged me to take him. Something told me that he needed out of there so I bought him. He went to the vet a week later (weight above is from walk-on scale). Other than very underweight, he was in good shape but the vet said that it was good of me to rescue this horse. He was well on the way to deteriorating fast had I not. We got his feed dialed in (he does not require much grain at all) and his weight shot up. This horse was panicking scared of everything. Freaked at blankets, fly spray, filling water buckets, and more. He could not stand while tied at all. He really had no ground training at all, no manners, and he would invade my space like a dizzy child. Because of that, I doubted that he had any training under saddle so I treated him as if he was a 5 year old with nothing. My guess, that was why the picture was blurry in the ad, the horse was panicking when the pic was taken because he had not been trained under a rider. Because of my doubt in their advertising, I had him DNA tested for the breed by Texas A&M University. He turned out to not be Friesian at all. He was Morgan/Belgium/Gallecino cross. Quite beautiful once we got weight on him (now at 1097 pounds). Then I knew, they had falsely advertised him as Friesian because he was large and black to get a sale. The fact is, these people are into selling horses and making money. They will say or do whatever they have to do to make a sale. They will lie and put you and others around you in danger. They are bad apples in the horse world. Had I been smarter and checked for reviews back in 2018, I may have passed on this gelding. I made the best of the situation knowing that they would not do anything to make up for their lies. This gelding is now trained and is a great horse but I had to train him and work with him to get there for 2 years. He finally did his first trail ride last weekend. Do not trust these people! Buyer beware! They do not even deserve one star.
