And don't give me wrong I do love McDonald's too. Lol! Despite there has been often lifeguard stability issue, the indoor pool has been providing much pleasure and benefits for me and countless others. The water quality and temperature have been maintained very well at most of the times. If they occasionally fall short, the management would adjust soon as they get emails or verbal messages from members. Yes, I have to admit we are a bunch of pool snubs. Lol! I visited the YMCA today because I called and was asking about getting a 50m swim test done here…read more We were told to come in and make an appointment. Patrick, who works at the front desk, was extremely helpful and spent a good amount of time getting us to where we needed to go for a swim test. We were there to make an appointment but he called up Henk to ask if he could help us with this process. Henk was so friendly and helpful as well. Instead of making an appointment for another day, they asked if we had our swim clothes with us (thank goodness I prepared myself just in case) and had us do the swim test right then and there. Henk emailed us the letter with his signature a few hours after we completed the test. We were not charged anything for using the facilities and getting a test done. This was by far the best experience and the staff were so accommodating to us. I've been calling and emailing the Stamford YMCA for the same test and it was not as consistent as Darien (it took two weeks, two calls, and numerous emails to get help from them). Darien was extremely helpful and we are so appreciative of the staff there! Patrick is new to the YMCA but he was amazing. We greatly appreciate his help in contacting Henk for us. Henk's last day is Thursday so we came at the best time. He was incredibly friendly and excited for us as to why we needed this swim test. The facilities were amazing and the decor was beautiful. This was probably the nicest YMCA I've ever been to. Thank you Darien YMCA!! You really helped us with this!!

The thing is the whole pool is 3 feet and 6 inches. It does not get any deeper than that. They have so many kids and babies in this one. I wish the pool became deeper as you swim to the other end of the pool but it did not. Other branches range from 3 feet to 6 feet. Then there are some branches that are just 5 feet to 8 feet deep and the size is very small! All the branches are very inconsistent with their pool size!

Machines break, get left for weeks... this is understandable besides how most of these machines ARENT really broken, just never taken care of and rundown. No clue what the fire capacity is but I'm sure that they have broken it numerous times: dozens of high schoolers flock 4/5 per machine daily, and also consistent are older folk who occupy a machine or sit on their phones/talk to the trainers for upwards of 30 minutes. Save your money, take your business elsewhere.
