Modern, chilled ambience with a great bar and warm service; the massive "elephant ear" pork cutlet is crispy, tender and can feed a table, the braised short-rib agnolotti in roast sauce is rich, silky, and amazingly different. A top spot in T.O.

I'd give this place a solid 4/5. Went here recently for a friend's birthday and I quite enjoyed the food. I was able to try some bites of a few dishes, and I would definitely say the highlights are the (1) fungo fungo fungo gnocchi and the (2) the elephant ear cutlet. The fungo gnocchi was super mushroomy and absolutely full of flavour - if you're a mushroom fan, this is the one for you! The elephant ear cutlet dish was MASSIVE and very tasty - definitely a dish that can be shared with the entire table. My only complaint of this place was the portion sizes.. I found them on the small side and I was honestly disappointed by the quantity given the price you pay.. I left the place still hungry. Tasty food though~

We went to a lip stick making class and were looking for somewhere to eat. We stumbled upon Stelvio and decided to check it out. The restaurant is beautiful, service is a bit slow and when we went there was only one other couple dining. The issue with the restaurant is everything is so expensive and the portions are so small for how much you pay. The food was good, presented beautifully, but very pricey.

Northern Italian style food, a bit different from your traditional Italian food. Overall the food is decent, however, I find it extremely oily and greasy in some cases, more like your typical Italian pasta. For two of us, we had an appetizer, two pasta, and a meat dish, glass of wine, sparkling water. Total about 200. You can get better Italian food for way less in my opinion. Service was great, but it's not a place I would go back frequently, not worth the money imo.

Hidden on Dundas West of Bathurst, this Italian eatery is an absolute gem. Energetic, busy, noisy in a good way. Enjoyed a wonderful appetizer of flattened, seasoned meatballs - MONDEGHILI and then my main - gnocchi with artisanal sausage, mushrooms and truffles - GNOCCHI CASERECCI AL TARTUFO and accompanied it with an absolute wonderful glass of Abramo riserva barrique-le rive. But what made this experience that much better was the attention and service from the bartender. She was extraordinarily nice, attentive and did not try to insert herself into my experience beyond need. Yes, I sat at the bar. Absolutely wonderful experience and will definitely be back with friends.

Impressive! Great waiter, great food, great vibes makes for a great time. Great delivery on the cocktails creations. Small menu makes for easy pickings but stop what you're doing right this instant and check the elephant ear schnitzel below. P.S. Amazing greenery but that monstera needs work ;)

Meal Quality: Started with a Sciatt appetizer that was delightfully crunchy on the exterior and filled with a smooth & creamy cheese on the interior. For the main course, I was very impressed by their Risotto alla Milanese con Ossobucco. Its saffron risotto was was the best that I have ever had and the braised veal shank was sheer perfection! I paired this with a delicious glass of Cabernet Franc that even further brought out the flavors of the ossobucco. As for dessert, sometimes it is best not to choose just one, so the Torta di Mele e Gelato and the Tiramisu were decadent choices and I paired it with a nice Italian liqueur. Aesthetic Appeal & Atmosphere: Enjoyed a nice evening outdoor meal on a lively street Service: My waitress was phenomenal and very helpful. As she was a former customer herself, she essentially ordered gave me her personal recommendations and I followed them the whole way through the evening. She said it was her first day, but I'd swear she had been perfecting her craft for many years! RATINGS: Meal Quality: 5 of 5 Aesthetic Appeal & Atmosphere: 5 of 5 Service: A blazing 5 of 5!

First time at Stelvio- wasn't as good as I'd hoped. We ordered some fritti mozzarella bites and they were good- but definitely needed a dipping sauce. Or maybe I'm just too used to real mozzeralla sticks with marinara. I wouldn't recommend it. I ordered the pasta special which was a gnocchi with truffle, meat, and porcini. When I first got it I was happy that it came with a lot of truffle, but when I got into it I felt like it had too much. It was definitely too much of a good thing. But it was $28 so I guess they wanted you to feel like you got bang for your buck. My bf ordered the tagliatelle ragu and it looked good, but he said the primary flavour was salt. When I tried it- I would have to agree. It was tomato and salt. Not complex at all. Also as an aside- I would say the pasta portions are relatively small for the price. You get this dish with a little bowl dent in the middle and your pasta portion is basically the size of a rice bowl. I'm happy I tried it but I probably wouldn't come back.

Hovering between 3 and 4 stars. The food was delicious to be sure, but the price point was extremely high for the portions we received. I realized the pasta is made in house so that accounts for a lot of it, but it still just felt pretty pricey given we didn't really order that much and got pretty hungry again a few hours later. My husband ordered the ravioli (8 small ravioli in dish. It was FANTASTIC but a tiny portion) and I had the mushroom tagliatelle (also great but just mushrooms tossed in a light sauce with a bit of parsley). We also split the chocolate cake for dessert and I had a glass of wine and the whole tab came out to around $70. WHAT. The night before we ate at another restaurant with dishes packed with seafood, veggies, meat, and more and we spent the same amount of money for around 8-9 small plates of food. And everything was made from scratch there as well. The experience was nice, and the food was good but I would probably not return given you can get more for your money in Toronto at other locations and have an equally delicious meal.

I discovered this tiny little Italian restaurant through yelp. On a warm summer day, I imagine it would be lovely to people watch on the patio (the restaurant is situated on a very busy section of Queen st). I tried two dishes - tagliatelle with fresh homemade meat sauce and fried herbs, and the risotto alla milanese with osso buco. I really enjoyed both the dishes- the risotto, in particular, was richly flavourful. The portion size was also very generous, and I packed half of it home for lunch the next day. Would definitely want to come back in the future and try other dishes!

There is an upstairs balcony seating but I've never sat there. During warm weather, there is plenty of roadside outdoor seating too. This is my fourth time here but I never wrote a review fir the restaurant before. We ordered the following: 1. Shrimp Perno (daily special $6/shrimp). Jumbo Shrimp sautéed in garlic, white wine, tomatoes, scallions, and finished off with a shot of perno liquor. 2. Rack of Lamb (daily special $59.95). Four pieces of lamb in a rack, with a rich portion wine reduced sauce, that has a touch of mint to it, and Penne Pasta in a tomato rose sauce. The table bread was really good. The crust was crispy but the inside was fluffy. The soft butter that came it was so tasty. The bread was perfect for dipping in the sauce that came with the shrimp. We asked for a second basket of bread and they put two loafs in the second basket. It was too much so they were willing to let us take it home. The shrimps were definitely jumbo. It was so filling. Two pieces (per person) were good enough as an appetizer. The shrimps were perfectly cooked. We requested the lamb be cooked medium rare. It was definitely medium rare. It was juicy and did not have a gamey taste. It tastes great. The pasta was perfectly al dente. The tomato rose sauce was really good. They offered to grind parmesan cheese and pepper so we got both. There is free WiFi. The restaurant is wheelchair accessible. There is paid neighbourhood street parking and paid parking lots. Review 2025-187

The depth of the flavors was impressive, everything was seasoned well. I went with the gnocchi for my main and it was fantastic. The theme of freshness continued with the gnocchi itself and the sauce was beautiful. Thick (but not too heavy) and loaded with flavor throughout. Good wine selection as well. If you stay at the Chelsea in Toronto, this is right across the street. You won't be disappointed.

There were four flights of stairs to get up to the first floor with the bar and main dining area. There was another two flights of stairs to get to the upper bar (which I was too tired to walk up to). The drinks at the bar were good and the staff were all great. We started with passed apps. Some of the flavour combinations were just off (the skewer with fruit, cheese and something else) - like they paired the wrong cheese with the fruit. The meal itself was a seat down meal (family style) which did take over two hours to complete for the amount of guests that were present (over 200 ppl). My favorite dish was the tomato and mozza salad. My most disappointed dish was the ragu pasta. Though containing a good amount of meat it was not saucy at all. The pizza was the brocolini was good as well. The reason I gave this restaurant three stars is strictly for the lack of elevator and the food quality vs the price. For what you are paying, there is so much higher quality food in the city and I honestly think you can get better bang for buck elsewhere.

This is a wine bar - the house lager was bad (maybe my own bad decision) and the red I got was fine ... nothing to write home about. However place fell apart with the food - the shrimp came with 5 medium sized shrimp with the tails, legs and shells on and were under seasoned. The artichokes were mediocre (loved the sauce they came with). Worst of all was the "Ontario peaches" with the burrata were totally canned peaches - could've even been dole brand! This place has amazing potential with the location and vibe - but the food just was not it. Small portions and the price didn't match what was served. The service was friendly but nothing too crazy. Go here for the drinks, but maybe not for the dinner!

Our server was great at helping us pick our wine, he mentioned that their wines are all on the dry side which is perfect for me, I'm not one for sweet wines. We also had two of their small plates the mussels and the burrata. The mussels tasted great with the sauce, a little garlicky which I prefer. The combination of the peach and mint went really well with the burrata. Light and easy to eat. The patio at night is one of the highlights. The only small complaint was it did take a while to get our wine after we ordered it and a little while to get our check. Otherwise cute spot.

Bartender only checked on us once, when food came out. Hard to get their attention too. Food, however, was amazing! For the main dish we could choose from gnocchi, salad with salmon or another dish which I can't recall right now. Dessert was ice cream which I also couldn't eat. The gnocchi was very mediocre. I didn't enjoy it at all. I hadn't been here in years but I see their food quality hasn't gotten any better. I was starving by the time the main dish came out so I ate about a quarter of the dish. Then I took the rest of the gnocchi home. Service: The waitstaff were really nice but the service was not very organized. There was a lot of appetizers but I couldn't eat most of it. Which is strange because I gave my food allergies several days in advance of the meal. It took some time to get the main dish as well so the pacing didn't seem great. I looked around at the other tables & we got our main dishes last. I'm not sure if the kitchen was at fault or what. Ambiance: It's quite dark here even on the lunch hour. The decor is dark wood tones, red upholstered banquette seating & wooden tables & chairs. It's not a fancy place. I would not choose to eat here again. Last time I went was several years ago. Sadly I see they haven't gotten any better. There are other better Italian restaurants in this area.
