You should make reservations since this place in Thornhill is quite packed. And unfortunately we found the service a bit slow-we had to do "the wave" to get attention many times. No one even bothered to pour our empty wine glasses at any point in time. Not a good thing for a higher end place. The food was quite good (especially the Bass) but the portion sizes was on the light side. Seating was very intimate with my own guests and the guests from the next table. Did not find the experience bad but did not find the experience memorable for me or my guests either. We ended up leaving without desserts since it got too cozy for us. We also had a very annoying incident during dinner in which a panhandler came to our table to drop off a card for money. Totally caught us off guard as to how they let a panhandler come to our table to disturb our meal. Not good.

Cozy family style Italian restaurant that's been in the neighborhood for a very long time. Packed during dinner time when we went and lots of tables with the reserved sign, so nts make a reservation next time! Service was great - attentive, efficient and friendly. We got a beef carpaccio arugula salad to share. We each got a pasta dish, one grilled shrimp spaghetti and a seafood marinara linguini. Both were delicious with a good amount of seafood (they don't cheap out). The seafood such as the grilled shrimp were big portions and tasted fresh. Their menu is on the pricier side but lots of options and great quality food. They have a tasting menu where you can try bit of many dishes, but I think that needs to be pre-ordered/rsvp.

On a weekday, it was almost full house, it's a small restaurant with tables packed very close together, with very homey decor. Tables are a bit too closed together, but it's a small place, they try to place as much in there as possible. The service was OK, nice and all but a bit impersonal, But I'm here to eat and for the food. everyone at almost every table orders lobster bisque (daily special, not on menu, there's no price on it, didn't find out the price till the bill came $10) But it was extremely salty, a few tiny tiny pieces of lobster (or whatever it is) imagine minced beef but instead it's minced lobster. My partner got the veal chop, it looked very nice and big, but it because the bone was huge, and the meat that was too close to the bone can not come off, so there was very little meat. and it's a bit on the tough side (medium rare) the mashed potatoes & asparagus was ok. I ordered the beef lasagna, off the daily specials menu, and it was so disappointing, it came in a personal size casserole dish (oval shaped) however it was extremely oily, and salty, I started from the side and made my way to the middle, the sides has no beef or cheese, all the cheese and beef (very little beef) was all in the middle. It was a horrible lasagna, I can make better at home, and I'm no cook. The best part was dessert, the tiramisu cake, it was nice and homemade (but a bit too watery) I've had better. but it wasn't too sweet, which was good, and i was able to finish the whole thing. oh and this place can get VERY loud, cause it's in a small confined space with a lot of people. And if half the tables in there was laughing, it could get scary.

How I ended up at Tutto Bene? I don't really know... Canada Day last minute dinner plan with my Yelp Friend and Hot Yoga Date was not easy..as the challenge is finding a place that is open, decent and none of us been to and have food that all of us enjoy. Italian restaurant is always a safe bet if you go out with a vegetarian as there are always even choices of pasta and vegetarian and cheese at least you don't feel too deprived with the lack of meat. Grilled Melody of Seafood: Shrimp, Scallop. Calamari in Bouillabaise Broth ($12.95) of course was not a vegetarian choice but the seafood was fresh and the broth just seasoned perfectly. Riagatoni with Porcini and Portovello Mushrooms in Roasted Garlic Tomato Sauce $16.95 was decent, pasta cooked al dente. However, Tutto Bene believes in portion control, I need more!! Pizza with Sweet Basil Pesto, Grilled veggies, ripe pear and goat cheese ($14.95) was a little disappointed... hardly any pesto sauce on the pizza itself and where was the pear?? The pizza itself was a tad dry... Services though is quick, but our server was a little impersonal... and I hate when wait staff trying to push me to order more food... The atmosphere at Tutto Bene can be a little loud... however, I think that fit me perfectly because I did get loud after half a glass of Pinot Grigio!

This place is really popular among locals. A couple of months ago, my husband and I tried to get to Tutto Bene on Sat night. No luck! We had no reservation and they were completely full. That's why I had my expectations high when my cousin suggested to meet there on Wed night. We came early and the place was nearly empty. Our food arrived relatively quickly, but the quality was quite mediocre. Certainly not what you would expect from the restaurant at that price range - e.g. 1L bottle of flat water was over $8. We ordered lobster bisque, goat cheese salad, mussels, and mushroom rigatoni. Rigatoni was under-cooked, so I left half of it on the plate. Speaking of wines, they have good selection of reds, but most of them were in $70-$100 price range. We ended up getting 0.5L house wine that was quite decent. We weren't impressed with food quality or service (which was quite indifferent despite there were only a few patrons in the restaurant), so we decided to skip deserts and leave. I doubt we'll be back.

I really like this place. It can be intimate or loud. Tutto Bene is a really nice family style italian restaurant. We always have the lobster bisque, beef and tuna carpaccio, veal chop and blacken sea bass with a tartuffo to finish. Service is usually quite good with knowledgable staff. They have a wonderful wine selection that would suite any palette. Whether you're with friends or family or on a date this is a great place to go.

Speed Read: 1) Blackened Sea Bass - Highlight!! 2) Chef Menu: Sesame crusted tuna, Risotto, Fois Gras, Roasted and Slow Cooked Duck - All food taste great 3) Service - Excellent 4) 5 stars - good service, great food, reasonable price. As highlighted by other yelpers here, the blackened bass is the highlight. Rich (fatty) sea bass, cooked to just the right tenderness. It's multidimensional flavorful, it's probably cooked with fruit and vegetables to give it that flavor. Another one to mention is the mushroom risotto with truffles. Mushroom risotto is not hard to cook, but they do it right. Risotto is done to Al Dente, rich taste and aroma (truffle did the trick). The duck is serve in one dish, but it is prepare in 2 difference ways. Where the duck breast is roasted, and the quarter duck is slow cooked. We have the chef menu, so the portion size are smaller than a typically entrée. This allows us to try different dishes before getting full. Thank you for reading it this far, here are some tips. 1) Call ahead (few days) if you want chef menu. 2) Ask for their wine recommendation, the Italian wine they recommended is amazingly good with reasonable price.

Came on a weeknight and it was a full house. This is family owned and gives a warm feeling in the restaurant. I ordered a beef lasagna and creame brûlée . The dessert was sooo good. So creamy with a touch a nice aroma. The beef lasagna was good, nothing too special. 2nd time here and will be back as the owner is very friendly. The house wine was also not bad.

Amazing atmosphere and food to start off the weekend!!…read more We came on a friday night but there weren't a lot of people but also because it was game night. The lady who served us had exceptional knowledge of the menu, so we got couple things to share. Note: they also have daily special, so friday night was cocktail. We asked for everything to come at the same time (asian thing) instead of waiting. The grilled calamari came first and omg... it was sooo delicious!! Next off was the pepperoni flatbread, it was thin and crispy. Then the strip loin with truffle frites.. definitely something to die for!! Of course at the end we had to order their homemade pistachio tiramisu. So creamy and perfect! We would definitely come back especially for the high tea experience!

We made a semi-last-minute reservation the day before Father's Day weekend for a party of seven at 6:00 PM on a Saturday. Surprisingly, it wasn't very busy during our visit, aside from one larger group and a few couples, the dining room remained fairly quiet. The restaurant itself is quite spacious, though only about half of the venue is dedicated to dining. The atmosphere strikes a nice balance between casual and upscale. It's not fine dining, but it's polished enough for a date night or celebration while still being comfortable for casual attire. Service was provided primarily by two servers throughout our meal. They were friendly, attentive, and consistently kept our water glasses topped up without being intrusive. The food was enjoyable, though not the best I've had at this price point. That said, it's a solid option for the area. The grilled calamari appetizer was cooked well, being tender rather than chewy, and nicely seasoned without being overly salty. The kale salad was a pleasant surprise, featuring a fresh, homemade-tasting dressing that complemented the kale perfectly without any bitterness. The garlic bread was absolutely loaded with garlic, which I loved, though it was softer than expected and could have benefited from a bit more toasting. For my main, I ordered the mushroom truffle pasta. The pasta was cooked al dente, and the generous amount of mushrooms was a highlight. Around the table, the spicy chicken rosé pasta was well received, though the spice level was quite mild. I recommend asking for their chili oil for an added kick. The aged striploin was cooked medium as requested, tender throughout, with nicely crisped edges. The accompanying truffle fries and truffle aioli were delicious. The clam linguine had good flavour but could have used a bit more sauce. The branzino was the surprise of the evening, as it arrived as a whole fish, which wasn't what we expected in this type of setting. While flavorful, it required navigating quite a few bones (wouldn't really recommend it for this reason, not the classiest dish to eat). Dessert was a mixed experience. The banana pudding was unfortunately a miss, with an unusual stretchy texture and an overly sweet flavour profile. In contrast, the house-made pistachio tiramisu was outstanding and easily the standout dessert of the meal. It's a must-order. The restaurant was clean and thoughtfully decorated, and the washrooms were well maintained. I especially appreciated the complimentary mouthwash, a small but memorable touch that added to the overall experience. Note: They change their menu from time to time!

Not my first visit to Scaddabush Richmond Hill, but it had been quite some time since my last one…read more This return visit ended up being memorable for a few unexpected mishaps, though thankfully the overall experience was still a positive one. I called the day before right when they opened to make a reservation since the online system showed no availability. The staff member who took my call was incredibly friendly and thorough. In addition to the usual questions about party size, time, name, and phone number, they also asked how many children would be joining us, whether anyone had allergies, if we were celebrating a special occasion, and informed me in advance about the automatic gratuity for larger parties as well as the two-hour seating limit. I really appreciated how comprehensive they were. Fast forward to dinner... Parking in the plaza was absolute chaos. It took us quite a while to find spots, though that's not entirely surprising given how many popular restaurants are in the plaza. I'm sure the FIFA match that evening didn't help either. We were seated at what I'd describe as a "cozy" table. It wasn't cramped, but it definitely felt snug for our group. Thankfully, it ended up working out because we were sharing most dishes and the staff were fantastic about promptly clearing empty plates as we finished sharing dishes. We started with the Caesar salad, the Prosciutto & Mozzarella, and a Three Meat Pizza. The Caesar salad was well dressed with great flavour, while the mozzarella was, as always, a crowd favourite. I was pleasantly surprised by the focaccia, which was much crispier than I was expecting (I've never had it toasted like that before), with a wonderfully buttery flavour. The pizza was also excellent, not overly salty, with a chewy crust and a perfectly crisp exterior. For my main, I ordered the Rigatoni Bolognese, which was delicious. The pasta was cooked perfectly al dente, the sauce was well balanced, and nothing was overly salty. I also ordered the Rosemary Garlic Fries, which were tasty, although I do wish they had served a bit more aioli since that's what really elevates the dish. I also stole a few bites of other entrées around the table. The Vodka Pasta wasn't what I'd consider a traditional vodka sauce, as it leaned much more toward a creamy Alfredo, but it had a nice kick of spice. The standout for me, however, was the Shrimp Lemon Pasta. It was absolutely delicious, and I'd easily order that as my main on my next visit. Since we were celebrating my aunt's birthday, the staff surprised her with a chocolate cake topped with colourful sprinkles and a sparkler. It was such a thoughtful gesture and a lovely way to end the meal. Now for the memorable mishaps. The most alarming occurred when an employee accidentally knocked over one of the decorative jars filled with beans. It shattered as soon as it hit the floor, sending glass and beans underneath our table. We stayed still because we knew shards had scattered around our feet, and I was wearing shorts, so I could actually feel some of the debris around my legs. My biggest concern came when my mom mentioned she felt something brush against her neck, but thankfully she wasn't injured. The employee was incredibly apologetic and immediately stayed behind to thoroughly clean everything up. We all stepped away from the table to make sure every piece of glass could be safely swept up before sitting back down. The second near mishap happened when our server returned carrying full glass bottles of water. One slipped from her hand and hit the table, but thankfully she managed to keep hold of it before it shattered or knocked anything over. Despite those unexpected moments, our server was wonderful throughout the evening. She was attentive, friendly, and especially diligent about ensuring the allergy at our table was handled appropriately. Accidents happen, and while these certainly made for a memorable dinner, I appreciated how professionally the staff handled each situation and how well they continued to take care of us afterward.

Basically a take out/pick up place with a bench to sit/wait for walk-ins like myself. Notice many customers ordered in advance and picked up to avoid waiting time. As soon as you walk in, the smell of dough, pizzas, Italian cooking smacks you in the face like a Mack truck crashing through a marshmallow factory. I ordered the small pepperoni pizza and their "infamous" Panzerotti (fried of course). Waited 15mins, counter staff were friendly and helpful, answered my noob questions with the patience of a saint. Rushed home, skidding over the road ice and nearly grazing the huge snow banks on the side roads. Panzerotti where have you been all my life. Similar to Calzone but thinner and much larger. Golden crunchy goodness with a significant cheese pull. I choose the meat sauce filling (Xtra $2), well worth it. Staff recommended the garlic dip (Xtra $1.50), brought the Panzerotti to a higher level. I was tempted to eat the whole Panzerotti all at once, glad my brain warned me to eat only half which was more than enough. The small pizza had a good ratio of cheese/sauce to crust, every bite was pure joy. Pizza crust had a chewy, slightly salty flavor profile. Not the best, dough/crust above average, then again I'm a little bias hanging out in New York's Little Italy during my misspent youth gorging myself on New York style pizza slices. Mama, I think I found my favorite neighborhood Italian take out place. Can't wait to try their veal/chicken parmigiana sandwiches.
