This is my first online slamming of any business, anywhere, which I'd be uncomfortable doing at all…read more(I blame it on how I was raised) had it not been the incredible amount of anger I harbor towards how the place is managed by the owner. Long story Short: My issue was resolved at ANOTHER physical therapy location: The Kenmore Harvard vanguard Medical Association Long story Long: I had rotator cuff shoulder injuries that brought me here and I was - to give credit due - properly diagnosed.....that meant she spend 20 minutes with me after she makes you wait longer than that in the waiting room, then charges my insurance OVER 300$??!!?!?!? Yes thats what a cardiologist or dermo would charge your insurance for a PROCEDURE, not an evaluation. That was for nothing other than ask me what hurt, and made a quick diagnosis and I was told I would start therapy some other day....so 20 minutes then kicked out the door.... I'm apparently in the wrong business. What they didn't tell me was that the incredible amount they billed me AFTER they saw me - half of which would not be covered by my insurance, which is a good coverage insurance! Without realizing it, I now owe them 150$, which I refused to pay, because she did not earn it (did not tell me she charged 600$ an hour), and I would have rejected a service that was not covered by my insurance. I would never have signed up for something that wasn't covered, I would have gone to a place that was....like any other person. Perhaps that's why they told me afterwards. I was several sessions into seeing them BEFORE they informed me of how my initial visit wasn't covered and that it was a lot of $. Now the physical therapy part - rather than a low profit but high patient gain instruction of weights and how to use them for my injury that the place that essentially fixed my shoulders did....(I go to a gym and wanted to make sure I was doing everything right there so I could better heal up without a re-injury), she has me lay down and just gives me ultrasound therapy (stimulates cortisol release and reduces inflammation to help healing), and charges insurance a premium for that. Rather than working with an individual, doing said proper stretches and weight exercises that I was shown at the physical therapy clinic I went to afterwards, imagine 3 other people receiving the same therapy and she just attaches some wires, leaves you for 30 minutes, and then leaves you again. Its a converyor belt of business that ensures you'll get repeat business and is extremely profitable because you can see several people at the same time although you are one person, and they won't improve as quickly because you can't heal without excersizing as part of your recovery from these conditions. Avoid this business like the injury I hope you never have. There are places that treat patients well with an intent to help them heal faster because they are motivated to get you back on your feet quickly, not actually go at a ho hum pace of profitability motivated by complacency and greed. They are still trying to get me to pay 150$ for the session when I was never informed would cost me that much..... -Cliff P.S. I don't care what your politics are: This is why the costs of our medical system are ridiculous and it should be better regulated to save tax payers money.

I came out of therapy in tip top shape. My recent visits to Pro Ex were to rehab two sprained ankles (yes, it is possible to sprain two ankles at once). My Lead Therapist was Tommy and he is also fantstic! Would highly recommend. Both he and Matt are personable, intellegent, and really know their stuff. They take time to listen then treat each patient with the individualized attention you would hope to get from a PT. Even better...I should also share that I go to work everyday in a building with one of Pro Ex's competitors (Excel). I was going to give Excel a chance simply because of the convenience from where I work, but my experience with Excel was brutal. Felt like a meat market and I could tell right from the first phone call that I wouldn't get the personal attention and care I deserved, so I cancelled the appointment and went right back to Pro Ex. Pro Ex is arguably the best Physical Rehabilitation organiztaion in the area. HIGHLY RECOMMEND.

I must say lately I've been through the wringer with injuries and torn tendons and problematic…read moreshoulders etc. The surgeon recommended PT for an injury and this was my first time going to PT for anything. I've done OT, but much prefer PT. Now the facility is located in the same building as Atrius health, five guys, crush pizza, and Quincy College. A rocks throw from Quincy center train station on the red line. Parking is street or you could use the paid parking garage out back. So far I'm a month or so in, i believe we are making progress and my main PT doc Julianne has spear headed my regimens of PT to get me back on track. All the PT staff here is super personable, nice and helpful. They'll go above and beyond to address lateral and related issues you may have stemming from the initial reason you're attending PT to begin with. Each exercise is calculated to target certain strengthening of muscle groups to aid in your recovery and pain management. I've seen all walks of life here and everyone has been really chill and communicative. The space is clean and clear with mellow tracks playing in the background. I'm in and out in hour or so each session and we progress on weights and reps each week with a swap of different exercises to focus on the next item in your treatment plan. My doc also is very helpful working with you to help get you to other specialists and contacts so further assist in your recovery if needed. Don't be afraid to pop in and inquire about your specific needs. I've already referred some folks to seek out Professional Physical therapy here when it's brought up as a need. See you next session! The therapies combine self-exercise with equipment, tools and hand on massage... It is easy to find parking in front of the building. They also accept most health insurances. She has a chronic problem, so there is no easy fix, but they took the time to really assess the problem and provided exercise to help. Lo and behold, I found myself in need of PT when the practice at my HMO was filled. I asked if I could go to this practice instead, and I am glad I did. They really take the time to understand the "why" of your problem. I appreciate that they do that and not just throw exercises at you. I am very pleased with my therapist, Connor, and already believe I am seeing progress after two weeks.

Now I hear, despite all my best efforts, that I'm not making progress and PT is a waste of my time. This was very devastating news. I was trying to balance PT with recommendations from other health care providers, and it was confusing when the recommendations conflicted, especially about what I should be eating. I feel like there still could be meaningful ways to engage in PT, but now I feel like I'm defective, and it's me as the person who's the waste of time. I thought things were going okay, but the way it ended, especially so abruptly, was extremely upsetting. I'll heal on my own or find someone who can work around my other challenges.
