Also, it was extremely clean clean. The fishing was very good with a variety of fish(Crappie, walleye, perch, smallmouth and a 40" musky). First off a fully furnished house with dish, dvd player, and all the other great amenities and placed right on the water with you're own private dock is a rare find (not that we used much more than the coffee maker due to all the fishing). Personally I spent much of the weekend kayak fishing and boat fishing with my buddy, and the ladies enjoyed the peace and solitude that water front property in the north woods of WI affords. Suffices to say we are very happy with the weekend, especially compared to more than double the rates we have paid in the past for a run down cabin much more removed from the water. Lastly..taking a boat across the lake to a bar/restaurant to enjoy a few WI brews and deliver a great pizza back to the house at 11pm is an experience I'll not forget. All in all - great experience, and we'll be back. Highly recommended.

You couldn't even sit in it for fear of what you may be sitting on. The outside of the camper was just as disgusting. I guess it never occurred to the campground owners to power wash it. I spent at least two hours cleaning and disinfecting the camper that we were told was new. Lies. If I was on this trip alone, I would have left immediately. Reluctantly I paid my bill - almost $200 a night! I still feel like disputing with my charge card company because we were lied to and taken advantage of. Not sure how they live with themselves renting this camper to people. When I went to the office to complain, they had the nerve to tell me it was cleaned. I am not an idiot.

The camp map needs a lot to be desired since the sited are placed among the trees. We stayed three nights and should have stayed longer. Boulder Junction 10 miles away and Walmart 17 miles away. The toilet ran unless you giggled the handle. The light in between the beds was not working, it was in a switch on the wall, which seem to have a short in it. It was on a main road so we heard a lot of traffic all night. The only thing good about this room, was the sheets appeared clean.

The entire house smelled of cigarettes which made for an unpleasant stay -- and now my clothes have that smell too. I've never stayed at a BnB whose host would think it is fine to smoke inside and have guests stay over. There were air fresheners in the room we stayed in, but no amount of air freshener would mask it. The combined smell of cigarettes and artificial freshener made it even worse.

There is a list a mile long of what you can't do, and the "management company" at check in threatens they don't want "bad renters". They are short staffed on cleaning people, and nickel and dime you for your security deposit to pay for them to "clean" the cabin. We took sheets off the beds, swept the entire cabin, and left what we thought was left it in pretty good condition for them to clean the rest. Boy were we wrong!! It's unfortunate as we had been coming to Lofty Pines for years. With the new management we will never be back. Steve especially has issues about making sure it's known he is the boss, and definitely takes it out on renters. Just not very vacation friendly.

The accommodations, while a bit dated, were clean, comfortable and had everything that we wanted. Walkout access to a great beach where we could watch the two young boys play from our kitchen window. Very shallow, sandy bottom that was perfect for swimming. We spent a few nights by the campfire on the beach and I caught a nice largemouth right off the pier. Excellent bike and running trails were immediately accessible from teh cabin, and decent food was a short walk away at Fibbers. The owner, Jim, was very friendly and accommodating without being intrusive. All in all, a great, memorable vacation for the family. We will definitely be back next year.

It's a simply lovely spot on a beautiful lake, and the sunsets are to die for from this exact spot on the lake. The cabin itself is cozy and homey - very relaxed. Beds are comfy and the cabins have everything you need, other than linens. Fishing and boating are wonderful on this lake, and my family loves to go tubing and waterski. There's a sand bar between two connected lakes that you can walk all the way across from shore to shore. I also love that the gas station, convenience store and restaurant are within a quarter mile of the place. Just no better place to stay for a fabulous vacation!
