All of Dr. Flugstad's staff that I've come across with have been very friendly and polite. The day of my surgery my husband was my ride/nurse. Dr. Flugstad's staff was ready for me and provided my husband with lots of information and made him feel comfortable while he waited for me. Before I went to sleep his staff and I had a great conversation with lots of laughs. While recovering at home Dr. Flugstad checked in with us often, we were reassured that if we had any questions or concerns not to hesitate to call. Everything went well with my surgery and I've been very happy with my results. I recently had an appointment to see how I was doing and we were both pleased with my recovery. I really enjoy being in their office. They are very friendly and I love talking to his assistant Michelle. She knew about my moms passing, she gave me a big hug and condolences. Wasn't until I got home, did I realize he did not treat it. So, I ended up setting another appointment with another dermatologist as the spot was biopsied to be Basil Cell Cancer. Remember, this is why I was referred to his office! How in the world could he miss it??? It gets even better............ He missed another spot on my forearm that was also biopsied, and it turned out to be Squamous Cell Cancer. Ended up seeing a third Dermatologist who performed MOHL's Surgery to remove the growth he completely missed. Believe it or not, if that isn't enough to stay away...... He was not in my network so instead of paying my normal deductible, he charged me full price as my insurance does not cover out of network physicians. My opinion is low class for not telling me my insurance was not valid at that office, also if the cancer had not been caught and spread? Not cool! Any good attorneys out there? In the end, I paid $125.00 for the consultation and $24.00 for the cream -- a total of $149.00. On top of that, I was prescribed the wrong medication -- something meant for bronchial issues -- when all I had was a simple skin infection with itching and pimples on my back. The doctor also incorrectly diagnosed me with a hemangioma (a benign tumor made up of blood vessels), which was completely false. I went to my primary care doctor, who confirmed it was just a skin infection and prescribed an antibiotic that cleared it up in three days. To make things worse, I later received another bill for $124.99, even though I had already paid everything. I do not recommend this place. I found the experience dishonest and unprofessional.

I then appealed to my health insurance provider and they accepted the appeal and was told my out of pocket would be 500. Upon going back Hopkins Dermatology told me my out of pocket would be 4500. I then called my health insurance company back and they told me they would be paying the entire 13,000 less a 500 deductible . It became so frustrating I did a 3 way call with the health insurance company and Hopkins and my health insurance company had approved everything and could not understand how the other 4500 was tacked on before any procedure was actually done.
