We wanted high quality raw footage that we could later place into an edited wedding video (when we someday have more money) and Stephen shot gorgeous raw footage. Working with Stephen was one of the best decisions my husband and I made for our wedding! We liked him right off the bat- he was relaxed, professional, confident, down-to-earth and easy to work with. We met him once in person and the rest of our communication up until the wedding was via email. He was very responsive, answered all of our questions, and was the nicest guy! He captured a ton of footage during our wedding and did such a great job of being "behind the scenes" as I didn't even notice he was there until the end of the wedding! As for the video - we received the most beautiful edited video along with the raw footage which was so much fun to watch. While I absolutely love the photos and photo book we got from our wedding photographer, I'm so happy we got a videographer as well because getting to relive our wedding day through Stephen's video took those memories to the next level. Immediately we were impressed with his portfolio of video/editing work (which is Emmy award winning, by the way!) and the story and passion behind his shooting wedding videos. He answered all our questions regarding equipment, day of set-up and how he would be sure to get the best angles at the wedding. 5 Stars is simply not enough! My wife and I received Stephen's video as a wedding gift. It was, by far, the best gift we could have received. It even topped the honeymoon to Maui! The video was absolutely perfect. I do not have words for how much this means to us. There were so many small nuances on the wedding day that I didn't remember or didn't realize. The day was such a rush. Much of the footage includes close-ups and slow-motion moments that are impossible to see in real-time. However, Stephen was super COOL and practically invisible for the entire time he was there. He flexed around the two photographers we had and we still have no idea how he pulled off some of the shots. I can only describe it as 100% professional and absolute magic! We were really late to hire Stephen, originally, we didn't even want a videographer at our wedding but since we had some family that couldnt come, we changed our mind and tried to find one. To be honest, we went with the best rated videographers and they were all booked, so we found Stephen on Yelp, not a whole lot of reviews but they were all good. We met Stephen at a Starbucks and he seemed motivated, smiling and the few films we saw were good. We also found out he already won a couple of Emmys! On our wedding day, they showed up on time and I was very surprised with the amount of material they had, I was seriously in a 'wow' state lol. They were in control so I didn't take care of them and they were always here but discreet. We had to wait a couple more weeks than expected but Stephen was always fast to reply and gave me the heads up, so even though we were impatient - it was well worth it. A little background, my wife and I where reluctant to get a videographer. We get really uncomfortable when cameras are around and we weren't sure if we would ever watch a wedding video...One week before our wedding we decided we it would be a good idea to capture our ceremony and toasts on film. I am in love with our wedding video. I wanted a video that was more upbeat with quick cuts and I feel like I completely got what I wanted. It was romantic, honest, sweet, and totally captured the day. I love the quality of his video and how clean the picture quality is. Stephen is great at matching moments of the day to different parts of the songs in the video, which was important to me. The day of he was totally lovely and professional and like many others have said, you forget he and his team are even there. I hired Stephen for our August 2014 wedding many months before our big day. I had found his work online and found it far superior to any other wedding videographer in San Diego whose work I had viewed and knew I had to secure him immediately for our date. Many of the "top companies" have an aesthetic that I was not looking for - I didn't want a "cheesy wedding video"! I wanted an artistic, candid movie set to music of our choosing. After talking and meeting with Stephen, I knew it would be a good fit. He worked with me to customize a package to fit our needs and budget, which I appreciated. He was also extremely timely in his responses to emails. On the day of the wedding, he showed up right on time and got right to work. Him and his 2nd shooter worked tirelessly (but never got in the way of anything!) to capture all of the pivotal moments as well as some unexpected candid footage as well. They were polite, professional, and discreet. It took a few months to get the final product (which we knew about going into it via the contract and is pretty standard, so nothing out of the ordinary), so the anticipation was building -- I was so excited to see what he put together! The end result was an awesome portrayal of our day and we will treasure the footage of the ceremony and toasts, as well as the edited to music short film, forever. Ironically, my husband was NOT interested in having a videographer but it was a top priority for myself so I ended up convincing him. After seeing the end product, even he admits he was wrong and that a videographer is a MUST HAVE!!! Photography is wonderful but doesn't always tell the whole story -- invest in both! They are the only thing that you have to cherish and remember after the big day (along with the memories and your new spouse!). Stephen was also very flexible in not only sending me the final footage via the internet and a thumb drive, but also creating Blu Ray discs for us and our parents to watch on different devices. Stephen did the videography for my brother's wedding and I've recently seen the highlight video he put together. Simply stated, he did a terrific job. Stephen has a great eye and a creative mind, both of which really came through in the highlight video. Set to music, he seamlessly stitched together scenes of the day in a little over 4 mins. with a pace that seemed natural, not rushed. My personal interactions with Stephen were limited as I was busy enjoying being part of the wedding party and he was busy filming (and, notably, not in a remotely intrusive way) but he seemed like a really solid guy who would be very easy to work with. You will never regret having Stephen to capture your Big Day. My husband is a photography/videography geek, and he picked Stephen out of a dozen best-Yelped videographers in San Diego, having reviewed all of their highlight films and filming equipment. Stephen really invests a lot in making the raw footage itself beautiful in color, composition and cut, unlike some videographers who rely on touchup efforts afterwards. Stephen excels in both shooting and editing. We hired him for the shooting only as my husband could do the editing himself (albeit not as greatly as Stephen does!). Watching Stephen's raw footage, you can tell he always had the editing process at the back of his mind while shooting, which minimizes your work afterwards and helps you tell a smooth, beautiful and touching story. Hands down one of the best decisions for our wedding was hiring Stephen Alberts and his production company. At first we debated whether or not a wedding video was necessary, but here it is a year later and we think it was the best investment. Watching our raw footage and the custom highlight film brings back so many memories, and Stephen captured & edited them perfectly. The team was very easy to work with, accommodating a lot of special requests, and they were extremely discreet throughout the entire wedding. Going into wedding planning, I was on the fence about booking a videographer and had wanted to focus more of my budget on the photography, but boy am I glad I decided to do it. Stephen works very closely with my photographer and his services were offered as part of the package that I purchased for my wedding photos.
