GOOD EXPERIENCES After multiple places in the area couldn't help with some flimsy glasses, I ended up coming to this LensCrafters location multiple times. Each time not only did they fix the problem, they spent 15 mins on it, they looked great, and they didn't take a dime from me. The people who helped me were a delight. Five stars all the way. BAD EXPERIENCE I understood that Lens Crafters (based on the name) actually crafted lenses. They made it in the store. I thought that was the whole dang business model. Then, for some reason they had to order my lenses and then they got lost in transit. I am just baffled. Is this just a standard glasses shop now like every other place, but with weird shipping issues? Maybe that was just a bad week? Lastly, I do have to point out this is business owned by Luxottica so please look up that business before you come here.

I had seen LensCrafters on my way down Rockville Pike, on Rose Avenue. It is a brand new store and I decided to give them a try. As, soon as I walked in Ifty asked me if he could help me? I showed him my damaged glasses and he offered to repair them. I should mention that I had previously bought my glasses from another LensCrafter's. I browsed around and was impressed by the selection of glasses and lots of staff members available to help customers. LensCrafter's has really redesigned their stores to be plush and comfortable. Six minutes later, Ifty brought me my glasses all fixed and looking good. I promised to come back after my next eye doctor appointment and get my new glasses there. Thanks LensCrafter's and Ifty for their great service and beautiful new store.

I rarely give five star reviews as I typically will say there is always room for improvement. When…read moreI give a five star review it means I am 100% satisfied with the experience and service provided. I am admittedly picky about eyewear; The frames as well as the lenses. tl;dr- Eyes on Norbeck, and Raul specifically, are a 5 star experience! I purchased every day frames and lenses as well as a pair of prescription sunglasses. Not only did they have unique eyewear and quality lenses, they are a preferred provider in network with my vision insurance! I no longer have to go anywhere else when the time comes for me to look for new eyewear and lenses to go with it! Continue reading if you want the longer review! For years I went to a locally owned eyewear boutique, but after Covid, the shop was sold and their inventory was no longer unique or the high-quality of the previous owners. So I was on the hunt for a new place to purchase eyewear. I had already gone to several places in Washington DC and Northern Virginia and found that while some of the places had wonderful eyewear, they did not accept insurance and my out of network benefits would make purchasing eyewear a $4000 endeavor. Again because I am picky and have a penchant for I wear that is not mass produced. Add to that, I was also searching for an optical shop, where I would feel confident that my eyewear fit me properly, that the lenses were high-quality, and the person helping me select frames understood their inventory and had expertise in what they were offering. Enter Raul and all of the staff at Eyes on Norbeck! Upon walking in, you are created warmly and feel very comfortable. The shop has excellent lighting on the inside and nice big windows which bring in natural light. This is a big deal because lighting matters a lot when it comes to vision as well as the look and feel of eyewear. Immediately I knew I was in a place that cared a lot about vision. The selection of frames are unique and designer, yet reasonably priced. If I were to guess why they're pricing is so much more reasonable it would be because they maintain a regular clientele who are not only repeat customers, but bring in friends and family who also become regular clientele. Such was the case with me. One of my friends recommended the shop to me and I am so glad she did. Upon arrival, Raul gave my friend a big hug and he welcomed to me warmly as well. I explained what I was looking for and provided my prescription. Raul asked clarifying questions and made honest recommendations which included knowledgeable feedback on the frames and the fit. I had not made an appointment as I wasn't getting my eyes examined so I fully expected Raul to either take limited time with me or suggest I make an appointment and come back. I was wrong on both accounts Raul immediately, but without rushing, brought me around the store and we selected a few frames together. His expertise helped me not to feel overwhelmed and he very patiently, with a great sense of humor, brought me to making a decision on my eyewear that I feel 100% met my needs. Having worn glasses for over 30 years, and visited many places that sell eyewear, Eyes on Norbeck, and of course Raul, are a 5 star experience!

The stores are nicely set-up, bright and clean, and the staff are friendly. I like how you can try-on through the mail or in store and return through the mail or in store. It's very convenient. Every time I had an eye exam, including my exam last month, I felt that the exam was thorough and professional. But now I understand why this location gets so many poor reviews. When I came for my exam, they offered me digital retinal scanning for $35 more. I told them my insurance covered it. The insisted it did not. I insisted it did and they again looked at their computer and insisted it did not. They told me my one option was to pay the $35 myself. The staff person called over a more experienced staff person who said the same thing - you're not covered. No one offered to call my insurance company to confirm coverage, even though the store was otherwise empty and I asked them to call. They told me that even if they confirmed my coverage, they couldn't do anything about it because "the computer won't let me do it." I paid the $35 and had an excellent exam. They told me that I should file an insurance claim. Yes, my insurance covers the test. After filing an insurance claim by mail and being on the phone/email with Warby Parker corporate office and my insurer for over 90 minutes, Warby Parker (the company, not this location) agreed to refund my $35. Yesterday, my partner went for an eye exam at a different Warby Parker location in the County. I armed my partner with a copy of our insurance coverage, showing clearly that we are covered for this test. The staff person looked at it, agreed, and still concluded that we were not covered. The store employee refused to call the insurer. Then, they finally said - yes, you are covered, but I can't do anything about it because of my computer. (I guess there's no employee override for situations where the data in the company records is wrong). So, my partner paid the $35 (it is an important and valuable test!). And I am now, again, straightening this one out with Warby Parker online help desk. It's frustrating. I suspect when the next person with my insurance walks into a Warby Parker store, they will be told the same thing. You aren't covered and, if you are covered, there's nothing we can do. What??!!? Failing to call my insurer when I was there (or when my partner was there) to confirm coverage was just poor customer service. My insurer told me that optometrist offices call them all the time with customers in the stores to confirm coverage and avoid all this nonsense. Is this the end of the world? No. But I spent a lot of time clearing this up twice for my family, and I feel bad for the next person who walks into a Warby Parker store with my insurance. A big company like Warby Parker should have systems in place to address these situations instead of telling the customer "you're not covered" when you definitely are and are showing them evidence of the coverage, where they won't take a few minutes out to make a phone call when the store isn't busy, or they throw up their hands and tell you it'll cost you $35 because "the computer won't let me do this."

After not finding anything I liked for a reasonable price at my optometrist I decided to head over and see what offerings they had here. The employees were very friendly and helpful. I came in at 6pm and I know the store closes @7pm but they never made me feel rushed and they encouraged me to try on as many pairs as I needed to make a decision. Once I decided on 2 pairs the measuring and ordering process went very quickly and the glasses will be delivered to my home, so no extra trips back to the store for pickup!!

My experience with Dr. Ephraim was 5-stars across the board! He was timely, there was never any waiting, and it was overall an extremely pleasant, easy process. There was no puff of air (argh! thank goodness), yet he had technology that I've never had used on me from other places that was able to show detailed digital images of my eyes and its cones, etc. He prioritized both the health aspect of my eyes as well as the accuracy and optimization of the prescription which was exactly what I was hoping for. There was no pressure to buy glasses or contacts from them, which I appreciated. Dr. Ephraim was also super-personable and funny, and his staff was efficient and professional. I paid out of pocket because I didn't like the experience I had elsewhere, and it was worth it, but he does take multiple vision insurance providers. Note: I did originally have trouble connecting with them for an appointment and didn't get an answer the first couple times. I called a bit earlier and that helped to finally connect.

She is an absolute gem. Very kind, empathetic and super knowledgeable about all possible treatments for dry eye. She is super passionate about her work (she also has dry eye disease herself so she lives it) and it shows. Her office has the most cutting edge tech I've ever seen. They are always thorough at every visit. Her staff is friendly and works very hard to make sure you are comfortable & I feel truly cared for. She always asks if she can answer any questions I might have. She is highly competent . I have had several IPL sessions & currently am undergoing amniotic membrane treatment for my dry eye which is really helping. No other doctor had even ever mentioned these treatments to me as options. Procedure post IPL involves some discomfort that is to be expected but it is very brief. Amniotic membrane placement to me is like putting in a big contact lens. Fast and pain free. You have to keep the patch on 2 days , not convenient but an excuse to rest and let the eye heal. Additional info -this office thoroughly checks insurance status w deductible etc so there have been no surprises w treatment costs. Yes there are wait times but as a medical professional myself I can tell you this is actually a good thing in the sense that means they are not rushing w their work and making sure to give each patient proper care. Timeliness can be nice but w all unexpected things that can happen in day to day often means ppl are being rushed in and out if running on time. Bring your phone or a book & be thankful you are in good hands . Thank you Dr Cremers and everyone at visionary eye for all you do for your patients. Keep up the great work. I couldn't figure out how parking works in this area. * Clear your schedule - As other reviews have noted, speed is not their strong suit. Definitely the longest trip to an eye doctor I've had. I came in on a Fri morning, and it took them about 15 mins to get me in. Had an eye test done and then sat around for another 20 mins. Another test. Another 15 minutes before I finally see the doctor. All told it was a 1.5 hour visit for maybe 5 minutes interacting with staff. * Skip the "flip the eyelid" test. One of the young techs that worked here tried to do this and it was super uncomfortable. I don't even know if his hands were clean. He couldn't seem to do it and I couldn't get over someone jabbing their finger in my eye. He ended up just really frustrated. When I finally saw the eye doc like 45 mins later, it didn't even come up. * Masking - While waiting I sat in a crowded waiting room, nobody wearing masks, which I guess is fine now but when cold and flu seasons rolls back around ... OTHER They required two visits - They couldn't see me for both glasses and an eye doctor check (i.e. check for problems). This was supposedly due to an insurance requirement, but the incredibly slow service means I had to come back and dump another entire afternoon in a month. NOTE: You'll see a very reasonable reply from the company below this review. Please note that I haven't been back because a friend visited months later and said they had the same experience. As requested by yelp, that does not impact my review, but it did keep me from trying them again.
