I have seen many complaints about the poor customer service and long waiting times, but that just hasn't been my experience. I was seen quickly and the quality of the care was satisfactory. PROS * Staff were mostly fine * Eye doctor (when I finally saw her) did a good job CONS * Parking - Park at Java Nation or Whole Foods, buy a drink, and walk over to this location. I couldn't figure out how parking works in this area. * Clear your schedule - As other reviews have noted, speed is not their strong suit. Definitely the longest trip to an eye doctor I've had. I came in on a Fri morning, and it took them about 15 mins to get me in. Had an eye test done and then sat around for another 20 mins. Another test. Another 15 minutes before I finally see the doctor. All told it was a 1.5 hour visit for maybe 5 minutes interacting with staff. * Skip the "flip the eyelid" test. One of the young techs that worked here tried to do this and it was super uncomfortable. I don't even know if his hands were clean. He couldn't seem to do it and I couldn't get over someone jabbing their finger in my eye. He ended up just really frustrated. When I finally saw the eye doc like 45 mins later, it didn't even come up. * Masking - While waiting I sat in a crowded waiting room, nobody wearing masks, which I guess is fine now but when cold and flu seasons rolls back around ... OTHER They required two visits - They couldn't see me for both glasses and an eye doctor check (i.e. check for problems). This was supposedly due to an insurance requirement, but the incredibly slow service means I had to come back and dump another entire afternoon in a month. NOTE: You'll see a very reasonable reply from the company below this review. Please note that I haven't been back because a friend visited months later and said they had the same experience. I went in to See Dr. Cremers she is excellent. I booked a $600 procedure of IPL when I looked over the form there were migraine meds I needed to stop. I called for over a month every week, I submitted a contact request online. No one called me back with the info requested. Sadly I canceled my appointment because any place you have to reach out so many times doesn't deserve my money. My bigger concern was if I had an eye concern after the treatment would the doctor ever get back to me or deal with my concern. Poor communication and customer service. Unfortunately, the staff appears to be removed from the automation process of scheduling appointments. Who selects a tools/service (automated appointment scheduling), pays a contractor to develop and manage the tool and when the service does not meet the standard- The company said it not my fault, it's the patient fault. They have decided the patient must decipher how the process works. In addition, the patient better not challenge the mistake or failure in their office. Avoid, avoid, avoid! We had so many bad experiences here with the staff and their inability to receive referrals. Today, I came in with my 5-year old, referral in hand that we picked up from our pediatrician. They did not tell us anything about what needs to be on the referral, but told us when we got there that it was incorrect because it didn't have their name. So I called the pediatrician and they faxed over an updated referral. However, the staff would not accept that one either because it didn't have the correct doctor listed whom my son was seeing today (even though the staff did not tell me which doctor he was seeing so I did not know). The next referral that was faxed over was rejected because the address was wrong. After the third referral was faxed over, they then told me that he had to wait 2-3 hours before he would get to see a doctor. That was the last straw. I had my own issues with this place as well. I had a major eye injury and went to their Rockville office which was the only one I could get an appointment at. They would not take me without a referral (they did not tell me ahead of time that I needed one - I told them this was an emergency visit). After trying to reach my doctor for 40 minutes, I left. The next time, I went to their Rockville office, with a referral that my doctor told me was faxed over the day before. The staff said they did not get it. I showed it to them through my patient portal, but they said they could not accept that. After trying to reach my doctor and not being able to, 30 minutes later, I left, only to find out that they had sent the referral to the OTHER Rockville office. But the staff had not told me this and I had no idea until I spent an hour on the phone trying to figure out what happened. My husband had numerous issues with them as well, such as them canceling one of my child's appointments because a doctor no longer worked there, but not telling us. I had also made an appointment for my daughter once only for them to later tell me that she's not old enough to be seen by them. In summary, these are not one-time incidents. These are recurring issues, and they are the result of their staff not being competent. Although my family has wasted hours and hours because of the issues with this place, I hope that with this review, others do not waste their own hours as well. read more

I had eye surgery a few months ago. they provide good care, but my overall experience was a bit frustrating. The doctors are professional and thorough, but it's hard to get someone on the phone, and I had to come back three separate times because my prescription needed more information before it was finalized. I'm not happy today with my visit because I came for my medical appointment and I also wanted to pick up my glasses before seeing the doctor. The lady on the counter said I couldn't get the glasses now because I was already on a list to see the doctor. I asked someone before her that I needed to pick up my glasses and she said she couldn't help at the moment, that's why I told the other person in the counter, so the answer was that I needed to see the doctor with the old glasses. Then I saw 2 technicias that were really professional and kind, I told the 2nd one my new progressive glasses were in the optical and that I couldn't get them for the appointment, she tried getting them but couldn't, then told me to get them before seeing the Dr. Saeed. I went to the counter and the other lady asked if I was done with my appointment I told her no but that I needed my glasses to see Dr. Saeed and she said to wait but she didn't put me in the list to get the glasses. A few minutes later another technician not someone from the optical called me to give me the glasses and said "sorry for the confusion" Coming here is already hard, I don't like the wait, and the bad service from some staff members, the doctors are great but situations like this make me want to go to other practices. read more

They are so unprofessional their front desks assistant didn't get his name but does everything but assist the client. SAVE YOUR TIME AND GO SOMEWHERE ELSE! If I could give this place negative stars, I would. This office is nothing but trouble. You can never get ahold of anyone-expect to sit on hold forever with no answers. My mother was told her medication would be sent to the pharmacy. The next day, I went to pick it up and of course, nothing had been sent. I called the prescription line, left voicemails, and even called 2-4 more times. Not once did I get through to a real person or receive a call back. This place is completely unprofessional and unreliable. Years ago used VED when they were smaller and more attentive. Have recently moved back to the area and looked forward to seeing them again. WRONG. Looks like a corporate take over, a factory/assembly line experience, Came for a regular check up. Waiting room was full (every seat taken) and waited 30 min beyond my scheduled appt time to be called. For the next 30 min, was shuffled around to 3 different waiting rooms, waiting each time before different measurement tests were done. And then shown to a fourth waiting room (again, full house) to wait to be seen by the doc. "soon". 40 min later I asked the front desk what was going on. They looked at me like I had asked a foolish question. I said that it had been almost 2 hrs and I could not stay longer. FINAL TAKE - Equipment, & eye care competency seem good and staff was pleasant but there was a definite focus on getting as many eyeballs seen as possible in as short of amount of time, like the airlines overbooking flights while customers wait and wait and wait. Here are 5 reasons, I am very frustrated with the intake process experienced with this office: 1- Every time you call there is a voice mail requesting your name, phone, and DOB with a brief message stating "We will be texting you back" 2- I am requesting a follow up call and never never never there is a returned call. 3- Because I am clueless on how they will be charging me, I accepted an appointment to discuss prices not services. I have been seeing Babak Hosseini in that office for many years. I like him and he is the only reason I remain a patient there. For the rest, the office is always crowded. They are always behind schedule. If you ask about when you'll be seen, the get very defensive: "You should expect to be here 2-2/12 hours." They call patients by shouting their full names without any respect for privacy or security, which these days they should seriously consider. I have seen many of the doctors there for years but Dr Cremers is a life saver and the best doctor there. She is kind, has a professional bedside manner. She has now done surgery cataract surgery on both my eyes, my husband and friends. We all are very happy with our adjustable implants and don't need glasses. We recommend her to all our friends. I see Dr. Cremers at this practice, and she is an outstanding doctor. If you have severe dry eye, you could not be in better hands. Before I found Dr. Cremers, I had seen 7-8 different ophthalmologists with hardly any relief from my symptoms, and was suffering immensely. Dr. Cremers put me on treatments that dramatically increased my quality of life, in a matter of weeks. I found her through her YouTube channel, the goal of which is to provide information on treatments for dry eye disease. This place is a factory. There are a million people here at one time and most of the staff seem to be young kids with no idea what they are doing. This place is 100% McDonaldized. They asked me to take out my contacts but didnt have a case or solution to give me. The solution they had I was allergic to. They just stood there staring at me until I finally asked what they wanted me to do about it. It took 30 mins to figure out how to help me by asking the one only competent head assistant/ person . Dr. Maliha Saeed came in and did an eye exam which was completely incorrect. I am slightly near sighted -.75 in both eyes yet she says that my vision was -2.5 and -3.75. Either their machine is broken or my initial assessment that they are all highly incompetent was correct. I have since had my eyes rechecked to verify. She was definitely in a rush as my appointment with her was no more than 5 mins. I also inquired about my issue of dry eyes to which she said "get eyedrops" as she walked out the door. WTF?! To not have compassion in regards to what your patient's needs are and to "cookie-cut" everyone and disregard their needs is an unacceptable practice. He is equivalent to a doctor who refuses to provide contraception to a woman because his own beliefs prohibit him from using it. In all fairness, the woman who arranged my appointment told me that it would take 2 - 3 hrs. When I asked her why it would take so long, and she gave me a vague answer, I told her that I did not want to get my eyes dilated. I was coming in because I thought I might have pink eye (infection). Since I was leaving town the next day, I felt lucky to get an appointment and decided to keep it. It took over an hour after checking in to be seen by a tech, who checked my visual acuity. (all of the staff were courteous) Then another long wait till I finally saw the doc. He was friendly and professional, the visit lasted about 5 mins. During the time I was there, the waiting room was filled with people, I estimate 40 +. I believe the medical care is good, but I don't want to go through this waiting process again. This practice is designed to maximize the number of patients going through what feels like an assembly line. I will not return unless they change this system. Insane wait times (2+ hours from appointment time - ridiculous!!), rude/incompetent admin staff (led to unnecessary tests even after I explained someone else in their office had already conducted them; forgot to notify me of something I had asked for; etc.), disorganized and mistake-ridden billing department (they sent me a bill with an incorrect amount, then told me to discard it when I called; had my address wrong; etc.) Responses to reviews give the usual canned answer "thank you for your feedback, we'll strive to improve, etc." THEY DON'T CARE! I've been seeing Dr Cremers dry eye specialist for about 5 years now. Due to my severe dry eye & other eye issues I have seen several ophthalmologists in last decade. She is an absolute gem. Very kind, empathetic and super knowledgeable about all possible treatments for dry eye. She is super passionate about her work (she also has dry eye disease herself so she lives it) and it shows. Her office has the most cutting edge tech I've ever seen. They are always thorough at every visit. Her staff is friendly and works very hard to make sure you are comfortable & I feel truly cared for. She always asks if she can answer any questions I might have. She is highly competent . I have had several IPL sessions & currently am undergoing amniotic membrane treatment for my dry eye which is really helping. No other doctor had even ever mentioned these treatments to me as options. Procedure post IPL involves some discomfort that is to be expected but it is very brief. Amniotic membrane placement to me is like putting in a big contact lens. Fast and pain free. You have to keep the patch on 2 days , not convenient but an excuse to rest and let the eye heal. Additional info -this office thoroughly checks insurance status w deductible etc so there have been no surprises w treatment costs. Yes there are wait times but as a medical professional myself I can tell you this is actually a good thing in the sense that means they are not rushing w their work and making sure to give each patient proper care. Timeliness can be nice but w all unexpected things that can happen in day to day often means ppl are being rushed in and out if running on time. Avoid at all costs! I had a horrible experience from an employee who did not help AT ALL!! People who need glasses have a very hard time selecting frames because we can't see. I was there three weeks ago and picked out frames. I had an appointment today to pick up my glasses. I questioned why they didn't fit right at all. Turns out that the guy sold me children's frames! They then told me that their Rockville location had a better selection so I had to drive from Damascus to Rockville. Their selection in Rockville wasn't much better. How does someone sell kids glasses to an adult???? The arms on the samples were bent back so I couldn't tell that they were short. I only found out after waiting three weeks to get my glasses and waste time, lots of gas money and pay for parking at Rockville! Do yourself a favor! Don't go to Visionary Eye Doctors!!! Dr. Cremers at Visionary Eye Doctors was awesome. I had a stye, which she completed a procedure for and the stye healed immediately and went down considerably that day and was gone in a couple days. (This was after another eye dr, different company, completed a procedure on the stye and it didn't go away). Dr. Cremers also gave thorough instructions for how to prevent them going forward, which others had not done. It's a very modern office, great equipment, and they do a lot of tests. While the doctors here are good I echo all other reviews: AVOID AT ALL COSTS!! I've been here for over 2.5 hours, only 15 collective minutes of which involved any form of examination by any staff member. Now that I'm trying to check out and leave (I'm already late for work!), they said I can't leave because the optical department has to take my payment despite me not wanting to order any contacts or glasses today. They won't let me pay at the front desk and I have to wait behind DOZENS of people who are also looking to get fitted for new glasses. Lastly, parking is confusing and the staff is no help! If you have a job or responsibilities, then forget about this place unless you want to spend half your day in their office. I'm regretting coming here, for a lack of better words. read more

While the care may be good, it's not worth the insane wait time to get seen. I understand that traditionally doctor's offices tend to have a wait, but in my experience with my primary care, dentist, etc. the wait has never been this long and it seems careless on their part to have such a poor scheduling system.
