When I say that my fear has nearly been alleviated by Dr. Zanthos and the entire practice, I just can't say enough good things. Carlos has quite literally pep-talked me through hyperventilation and is such a kind spirit. The office staff is also amazing, always willing to work with you to the best of their ability! I have just been thankful for everyone there. Thank y'all. Oh, and blowing the air on you and the Vaseline at the end of a procedure - it's the little things too!

I tried calming my "child" down and told him I would take care of it. I called the office and Sara answered the phone and I asked Sara to allow me to make the payment when I wasn't at work and could get my wallet and that it would be make with in a 24 hour period. She said No without thinking, (it's not like we normally don't have a zero balance) after asking to speak to Dr. Z she said fine, she waved her magic wand and my child was going to be seen for his FREE CLEANING THAT HE CAME HOME FROM COLLEGE FOR...but was very Rude about it. By the way, The payment was made before my child left the office that day. When I called the office back after my son's appointmen, the staff must have caller ID because I callec several times being sent to voicemail, (Sara knew I wasn't very happy with how she handled this) but after calling from their website my call was answered immediately. I realized this summed Sara's behavior up, (A mean girl sitting at caller ID sending a Patient she didn't want to talk to sending to Voicemail) very entertaining if you think about it. Today is Monday of the following week and I have called the office 4 days asking for Dr. Z to return my call only to have Sara tell me today he decided not to return my call. It is sad if this is true because me & my Children were some of the Dentists first patients in Alabaster when he opened his practice by Publix in Alabaster. Maybe he hasn't been given my messages, I choose to believe this because I have seen how unprofessional Sara is. Maybe he will get my message today

I'm a new resident of Alabaster. And, Stone Creek got me in right away to check out a broken molar…read more Dr Lafont took good care of me. Whereas I expected to be talked into getting a crown, Dr Lafont fixed the broken tooth with a build-up of resin procedure. As a side note, I also got my teeth cleaned by Raven immediately following the repair of the broken tooth. She did an excellent job and provided some info that I'm thankful to have received. Being early January, I'd not yet swapped-out my insurance card in my wallet, which caused a computer-generated automatic denial of coverage. And, the receptionist assisted by contacting my insurance company, verified that I have coverage, and efficiently dealt with the administrative SNAFU. The only negative that I can identify is that the entrance to their parking lot is steep. So, it's wise to drive slowly when entering their parking lot. I highly recommend Stone Creek Dental Care in Alabaster, AL! Larry G.

However, my husband also has transitioned to this office, along with one of our adult children. Besides my dentist, there has been a lot of transition in the office, with all but one of his previous staff leaving by this year. I also noticed that the other dentists in the office have changed several times, with only my dentist being the same one still there within 18 months. I have not had the same hygienist clean my teeth in the three times I've been there. This is a bit of a change from any dental practice I've ever experienced, ever throughout the course of several decades in a couple states. I guess the dental industry is changing a bit, and if you are going to a chain dentist, you aren't going to have the same person cleaning your teeth every 6 months for years. I will probably miss walking and recognizing people, or having them ask about the kids and family, but as long as I get a good cleaning every 6 months, that should be sufficient. I'll be interested to see who might be there next year when I go back.

Right before they took him back they told me he would need extra gauze and some gel that prevents dry socket. I paid $45 cash for the extras. Soon after I recieved a bill for $45. I called and explained I had paid that in cash. The person I talked to said she would check into it. About every other month we had the same conversation about pulling up the cash receipts from that day. Today it was the same thing all over again, except today she said it was a fee my insurance didn't pay. I spoke with my insurance company after the first bill came in and they had paid the agreed upon amount. I explained this to her and then she had the nerve to tell me "they didn't take in ANY cash that day". So now not only did I get over billed, but the woman (Kaitlyn?) that handled the call is calling me a liar because I absolutely handed them $45 cash. It's a shame because the doctor did an amazing job, my grandson never had any pain and was back to himself after a good nap. I decided to pay the $45 and stop having to deal with this month after month. 10 minutes after I paid, again, the office manager called and said she could adjust my account. Of course they can now that the payment was already made.

Someone else there needs to verify insurance and give estimates since this practice does balance billing (which should be illegal but that's an Alabama issue) My first appointment I was simply told anesthesia wasn't covered for my wisdom tooth removal. Had I known it wasn't covered because there was a two tooth minimum I would've had all of them removed at once. Had I known the true out of pocket costs I would've shopped around at other surgery practices. In less than a month I ended up back getting two additional wisdom teeth out and i was shocked when it cost less than the original one... and now im being balance billed for almost $200 more because they decided my initial payments weren't enough after their contracted rate was paid out by my dental insurance. So yeah.. even though I liked the doctor I wouldn't suggest this place. It's now costing me over $1000 for three wisdom teeth to be removed when had they all been removed at the same time I would've paid around $500. So with the crappy billing practices paired with awful wait times (unless you are the 8am- they were prompt that day) I'd look somewhere else.
