UPDATE: As of 5/25, I am still experiencing significant sensitivity and pain…read more I paid over $50,000 for full mouth veneer treatment with this office. Within about three years, one restoration failed and required emergency care. I no longer live in Texas, so I saw another provider locally. That provider was recommended by this office and uses the same lab. During that visit, I was shown a clear image of an unsealed margin on the tooth adjacent to the failed restoration. This area is now causing significant sensitivity and requires treatment. Despite this, I was told by Dr. Young that addressing it would be a personal choice and not necessary. I was also told that issues like this could be related to whether I was keeping up with cleanings. I have consistently attended my dental cleanings before and after the restoration. I have been trying to get help since April 11, when the crown failed. I was finally told on 4/30 that a night guard would be remade and sent. I provided my address and never received a response or update. My records state that a night guard was delivered to me after treatment completion. I never received a night guard. What I was given were retainers, which I believed were night guards all along. I raised concerns shortly after placement in 2023, including asymmetry and bite issues, and provided photos at the time. I relied on the guidance that things were addressed. I am now dealing with a failed restoration, another tooth requiring treatment, and no protective night guard despite documentation stating otherwise.

Title: Periodontist CT Billing Scam - Beware…read more I don't like leaving negative reviews, but I feel obligated to share my experience to help others avoid being taken advantage of. I had a severe infection around a dental implant. My dentist prescribed antibiotics and suggested that if things didn't improve, I should see a periodontist for possible implant removal and gum/bone treatment. I went to see Dr. Thalida Dong in Spring, TX. The Technician took an intraoral periapical x-ray. After reviewing it, and examining my mouth. She then recommended a CT scan to see the deeper gum and bone area--adding that insurance usually doesn't cover CT scans. I initially declined, but in pain and desperate for answers, I agreed and paid $375 out-of-pocket. After reviewing the scan, Dr. Dong said my implant "looked good," even wiggled it, stating it was not loose, and noted some gum and bone loss. She offered no real treatment--just said the crown should be replaced and that I should see a regular dentist. Three days later, my implant became loose. I called the office, requested my CT scan, and while waiting overheard another patient being sent for a CT scan. I later spoke to the patient outside--she was also charged $375 for the scan plus $50 for the consultation, despite having Delta Dental PPO. Dr. Dong had told her the exact same thing about insurance not covering it. After researching, I discovered they used code D0381 for my CT scan--a code insurance often denies--instead of using a billable code D0365, which is typically covered once per year under my plan. In addition my consultation was 100% covered in-network, yet Dr. Dong still billed Delta Dental $70 for it. In my opinion, this looks like a deliberate CT scan billing scheme to collect cash instead of using insurance benefits. I would not trust a person who runs a dishonest practice to work on my mouth.

Highly recommend this office! Dr.Dong and her crew is awesome. I went in to get a tooth extracted…read moreand was a tad bit nervous but the staff and Dr.Dong reassured me by talking me through their procedures. Office staff is very polite and helpful!

Don't see Dr. Helen Sergerie at Sagewood Dental for a serious problem, she can't do anything. At…read moreleast that's what she told me! About 6 mos ago,I came in for a cleaning and check up, which was fine. A week later I developed severe pain in a back molar that already had a root canal. Dr. Helen Sergerie diagnosed an infection and prescribed an antibiotic and told me the only tx was to pull the tooth. I asked her multiple times, isn't there any way to save the tooth? No, she said , it must be pulled and sent me to an oral surgeon. I was told the surgery involved IVs, implants, tooth replacements and 6 mos before I would be finished. I went home to consider and took the antibiotics for 4 days and when I was still having pain, I called Dr. Helen Sergerie to ask if another antibiotic would be more effective. She said, Sorry, there's nothing more I can do. Wow, never got that from a Dr before! I finished taking the antibiotics and every day used alot of Listerine and the infection with its pain went away. I wasn't sure about all that other tx so waited to see how the tooth did. 6 mos later, no problems but I needed another teeth cleaning so stupid me, went back to Sagewood. Yup. Got another infection with that same tooth. Well I couldn't believe that my tooth couldn't be saved so I went to my previous dentist at Sterling Ridge Dental. One look and Dr Cope said, absolutely, that tooth can be saved! He sent me to Advanced Clinical Endodontics, (ACE) and sure enough they performed a re-root canal and prescribed strong antibiotics and finally cleared up the infection and fixed the problem with the tooth. One day! Not 6 mos! Stay away from the revenue focused, Dr. Helen Sergerie.

I do not dispute the skill of the dentists I have used, and I have been absolutely more than happy…read morewith both Dr. Solomon and Dr. Sergerie as dentist. They are both very meticulous in everything they do. However, their billing department is less than ethical. Do not ever take their word for what you may owe after insurance is applied, even if they say that they ran it before your visit and are sure that the amount you are paying will cover the bill. Before my child's appointment, I had them run not one, but two, insurance coverages, so that on the appointment day I would have a true balance. The office personnel who handled this for me told me I was probably over-paying a bit for these services, but I went ahead and paid them close to $2,000 (after all, they told me that they had run both insurances, and this would be close to the amount that would be owed). Six months later, I get a bill for almost $350. At first, I thought this was just a mistake or some lag in either insurance payment or accounting. I know this can happen. For months a notice simply showed up through text message- no call, no explanation for the payment request, nothing to explain what had happened after such a long lag. Of course, I would not have normally expected a personalized call over invoicing but given the lengths I went to (since it was such an expensive visit) in order to ensure it was budgeted for, this bothered me. Finally, I picked up the phone and called them. They said they would look into it and call me back. No return call. The month passed and so I believed it had been resolved through insurance- a mistake, but, again, a text message for an unpaid invoice arrived. I immediately called the office to find out what had happened. The office person put me on hold and then returned to tell me that one of the insurances did not pay and I owed the invoiced amount. This being in direct contradiction to what the girl had told me when she originally reached out to both insurances to verify payment before services were even rendered. Sagewood Dental did not lose my business because of skill, but because of unethical business practices. I will not use any company that lies to me in order to perform services and then comes back six months later, plus, to collect more money- especially when the customer service and explanation have been handled so unprofessionally.
