I will not be going back. Dropped my weed eater off to see why it wasn't running. No one called with an estimate, only that it was completed. It cost $127. Had they given me the estimate I would not have paid that much to repair a machine that old. However, I figured, if it was running, that was okay. Got it home. It would run for 15 minutes or so before it died. I took it back and they thought the carburetor they put on it was defective, so they ordered a new one and switched it out at no extra charge. Got it home. Same problem. I called back and they now think its the rings. I explained that it was a little frustrating having to bring it back a third time and offered to just pay them for the parts they had already used and have them refund me the rest. I felt that this was a fair settlement since they were having difficulty diagnosing the problem. They were only interested in racking up more repairs for more money, or using what I paid toward a new one. However, at this point, I didn't feel they had earned my business enough to give them any more money. Asking someone to bring their equipment in a third time should be an embarrassment and more than an incentive to make the situation right. I was surprised that a local company that has been in business for so long had so little interest in making sure that a customer walked away satisfied. Some people have reported that the staff was rude, but I did not experience any of that. read more

After reading other reviews, I see there is a common occurrence that these people are rude. I would have to agree and would go so far as to say disrespectful. My 87 year old dad went in to have his edger repaired. When he picked up his edger a few days later, he paid and was given his receipts and left. When he got home he looked at the receipt which was incorrect. A couple days later he went back questioning the receipt. The person he dealt with was unkind and rude per my dad. The worker said, "I don't work for nothing, ya know". Was that remark necessary? Absolutely not. My dad got the correct invoice printed and went on his way, never to return. (Later we realized they had just attached someone else's the work order/invoice to his Credit card receipt.) So they did fix his edger and it is working properly. But I would never give my business to people who disrespect an old man. No excuse. Apparently, they have been in business for a long time and don't care if they have repeat customers or not. I've been going there for over 30 years. Today was the last. I went in for a primer bulb for a trimmer before I could get my phone out to show a picture, the manager told me with out a model number they couldn't help me. What I find is that they tend to be quite opinionated, but it is an informed opinion, but their humor can be an acquired taste. I always found them to be honest and frank about repairs, the amount of money it would take to do it correctly and the amount of time it would take. I've purchased several Stihl items from Stephens over the past few years, and I'm really happy with the items I've purchased. However, the store in Loganville has very poor customer service. I'd even say the workers there are probably just plain lazy. They'll answer a direct question, but it's like pulling teeth to get someone to come around that counter and actually help you! I have never dealt with Stephens Repair Shop before and never will in the future. I went in sometime in September to get two parts for my zero turn Husqvarna. The front roller on the deck and the pin that attached it to the deck. The price for the two parts came to less than $20 which I paid when I ordered them. It was about October when I went to check if they came in and neither came in and was told they should be in soon. Later in October I went back and only the roller came in and they told me the pin was on back order and should be in soon. This was the answer every time I came in for the next 3 months with no solution to the problem. The last time I came in I talked to one of the counter clerks about just refunding my whole order and start over at another parts dealer. She told me then that the manager was not there and that he was the only person that could do that. At this point I started doing some searching with other parts houses for both parts since Stephens was not doing anything to complete my order. I found both parts on Amazon and ordered them and they came within the week. I went back today to get a total refund for both and was told again that the manager was not there and then they pulled someone from the back and he said they could not refund me for the part that was there since it was a special order but would for the part that did not come in. I asked what was the price of the part that was there and he replied $10 and he said if I insisted that he had to refund that part then he would ban me from shopping there again. I gladly told him that I would take the $10 part and promise to never shop there again an tell everyone that doing business with them was a mistake. read more

Great place to shop. Friendly knowledgeable folks. They keep an amazing supply of replacement parts in stock. I'm always pleasantly surprised when they have some of the random stuff I ask for. Prices are fair. You might save a few bucks shopping on Amazon but I can walk in and have parts same day and not be behind on cutting lawns. Dont believe all the negative reviews. I bought a Toro walk behind here 21 years ago (still using it) and they treat me just like i buy a lot of equipment like the pros. You can't expect to bring in some of the cheaper "throw away" mowers they make nowadays and get them repaired. You will have more in repairs than the equipment is worth. They were designed to just be replaced. Buy good equipment and come out ahead. read more

Stephens Repair Shop was recommended to me by a competitor. Friendly staff that seem to be knowledgeable on equipment I was interested in. I took my yard equipment to be repaired and unfortunately, it couldn't be repaired. There is a charge to look at the equipment that is reasonable and is put toward repairing the equipment if I had chose to, which is nice. I would recommend Stephens Repair Shop. read more

This shop is dishonest. They replaced my blades instead of sharpening them. These blades were replaced last year. They said they were worn out. They also said they would call before replacing any parts and they did not call until the work was done. They also tried to charge me $54 for a $24 battery. I bought a better battery at OReilly's for $24. If they are this dishonest with a service what are they like with a repair? I just picked the two mowers up and was called stupid by the manager Chris Moon because I questioned them replacing the blades. These people are rude and have no customer service skills. They also broke the front of the mower. This is a John Deere so those parts are not going to be cheap to replace. They do not care about their customers that pay for the service that provides their paycheck. We were told they don't care if we come back or not because they have been in business for 34 years and they don't need our business. I was raised in this area and been here for 43 years. I always heard they were expensive. My mother decided to use them after the man that serviced her lawnmower for years retired. Well they won't get anymore of our business. read more

The absolute worst! If you want someone to rip you off go see these criminals! Took my mower in for a quote. After them having it for a month I called to see about my quote. They said the repair tech would call me back with one. He called a few hours later and told me I owed them $135, and could come pick it up. It's a 15 year old mower!!! Only one star bc I can not do zero. They repaired a lawn mower last year $ charged $180 to fix carburetor. Plus pick up & delivery. They did not install carburetor correct & left the pin out. I contacted Mobile Mower Medic & they services on the spot & corrected all things that Stephens did incorrectly. If you want to throw money away then use Stephens. read more

This operation is inferior on every level; value, technical ability and customer service. I took a generator there because it was not starting properly. When I picked it up, the electric starter was (newly) broken. I tried to explain that both my wife and I are disabled, and we needed the electric (not manual) starter. The technician responded that he did not care about our health problems. When I complained about his attitude, I was told to get my generator and get off the property. When I escalated my treatment to the owner, he was completely uncaring and unapologetic, and instead became defensive about his employee. I have never been treated so poorly as a customer in my 65 years, and had to pay $245 for the experience. In summary and to serve as a warning, Stephens Repair is staffed by individuals who are not only grossly rude and incompetent, but who exhibit a shocking lack of basic human decency. read more

Have bought Stihl chain saw and hedge trimmer there for repairs. Never bashful about extra up charges, They have some 'up charge' for everything short of "saying hello." Took Stihl hedge trimmer there for repairs. Did not hear from them for more than 3 weeks. When I called back, they told me that they did not have part and were not sure I wanted to pay their cost of repairs on $200 piece of equipment -- said ordering parts would take a long time. Offered to return it without fee, but when picking it up, was charged $45 for just looking at it. What a joke. Will never go there again. read more

Never let this shop repair a reel lawn mower. They took a simple sharpening repair and turned it into a bent shaft and new drum repair.

Paid 3,300 dollars for a zero turn mower there just a few months ago. The deck will not stay attached, and deck belts keep breaking. Stephens will not fix the problem. I was told by the owner that it's not their problem, that Toro sells thousands of these units and no one else has the same problem. Very, very poor customer service. read more
