I ordered a funeral arrangement, and when it came time to sign the card, I put the names of the 3 people who ordered the arrangement. The lady at the desk told me I could only have ONE name, so I put the name of the organization. I didn't feel good about doing that, but I did it anyway. Later, it occurred to me that the family really needed to know who had sent the arrangement. It also occurred to me that the organization might have ordered an arrangement from a different source and the family might wonder why there were 2 arrangements from the same organization. I attempted to call Stephenson's to discuss the matter, and I got a recording saying the phone number was no longer in service. Then I sent them an email, but the email bounced. For years when friends have asked me for a good flower shop I've recommended Stephenson's, but I don't think I'll do that anymore. read more

The flowers that were delivered were not as advertised as in the photo. They called me telling me that a substitution needed to to be made with the orange flowers with pink which was fine, but these look sad. I am very please with my experience with this flower shop. After having the most horrible experience with edible arrangements and ruining my mother's birthday surprise, I decided to go this route when it came time to celebrate my mom. I placed an order on line, received confirmation, and waited. I called the business (just because I was paranoid it'd never make it there, just like the edible arrangements order) when they answered they looked up the order, and informed me it was already on the truck for delivery. Review is for transaction that took place 10/13. Work in the area near Colton, ordered a sympathy basket to be delivered by End of Day 10/13, which for their business is 2pm. Called the business and was routed to a woman that informed me all deliveries were finished. Checked my emails no delivery confirmation as of EOD business 10/13. 10/14 at 7am, received an email confirming delivery and asking for review, which was left. By 1:20 pm 10/14 received a text confirming delivery from Stephenson's by 3pm. My issue and concern are with how the transaction was handled and how minimal communication was sent to me as a customer. I went on their website (great website!) and ordered some flowers for my mother and grandmother for Mother's Day. Being that I won't be able to visit them due to COVID-19, I thought this would be a nice way to celebrate them from afar. I ordered a gorgeous bouquet (great flower selection!) and had no problems with the website. Included instructions asking them to drop off the flowers on the front step and ring the bell. Someone called me about 15 minutes after I placed the order to let me know that they are not delivering to the city in which my family lives--Colton--because of coronavirus. Totally understandable, of course! But I was surprised because this information was nowhere on the website, and when I mentioned this to the woman on the phone, she got a bit touchy with me and said "Yes, that's because it isn't on the website." ...What? I said "okay... so we agree it isn't on the website" and I thanked her for calling to let me know. I asked whether she would refund me what I paid, and she told me they would void the order. I thanked her for doing so. But I went on to try to mention that it might be wise of them to update their Yelp page or website to let folks know that this would not be possible (being that many people are sending flowers from out-of-town due to this public health crisis), and she repeatedly interrupted me and kept trying to hang up. I would start a sentence saying something like "Great, thanks, have you guys considered updating the website? I'm sure other customers will--" and she would say "okay, goodbye." This happened four times before I finally understood she couldn't care less about what I had to say. I couldn't get a word out, and she finally hung up. I've never written anything close to a negative review, but I am pretty miffed that someone would speak to a customer like that. This review is more for the owners than it is for customers (flowers are beautiful and the website is easy to navigate!), but that conversation was enough to make me want to support a different small business next time around. read more

I have done business with Stephenson's Flowers for over 30 years. The original owner sold it in late 2021 and the new owners do not have the same business ethic as the previous owner. I ordered by phone an arrangement for a funeral; I was very specific on the flowers and greenery, provided my name, number, payment and delivery info. The arrangement that was delivered to the mortuary WAS NOT what I ordered and certainly not $87 worth of flowers. I called the owner and after much discussion she offered me a refund. However, after a week and a half and not seeing the refund to my credit card, I called twice and got no answer. I stopped by the shop and the owner, Christy, was quite rude. She told me she didn't answer my calls because she doesn't answer restricted numbers (although they did for the order and first call when the arrangement was wrong). She said I didn't leave a number (it never went to VM) and I did have my number on the order. She said I didn't. She noted that she approved the order before it went out and that if it was wrong then I should have TAKEN THE ARRANGEMENT FROM THE FUNERAL and brought it back to her! Her husband actually processed the refund while I was there and she informed me that I didn't need to come to the shop. Additionally, they charged me $15 for delivery to go a mile between the shop and the mortuary. This was not refunded. I explained that I have done business with Stephenson's for over 30 years. Christy told me as I was walking out that she doesn't need Bob Stephenson's clients. So if you're a long time Stephenson's client, be warned. This new owner does not understand customer service and is rude. I will never do business with this florist again. read more

My local flower shop wired an order to them and they claim they rejected it back and yet local shop has no record of the reject. We've used the local shop for 25 years with my work and always been pleased. Unfortunately, I ordered a funeral arrangement last Friday for delivery today to the mortuary and they never arrived. My family has been going to Stephenson's Flowers since they first opened, I believe in 1923. Today I called to see if they could assist me with filling balloons for my grandson's 3rd birthday. First, I was told that the shop was out of helium and they would not have any until tomorrow. This was fine since I did not need the balloons until tomorrow. Then I was told the shop did not know when they would have the helium in, again this was fine since I did not need the balloons until late tomorrow afternoon. The clerk then said that the shop could not fill the balloons and to find another florist in the area. This was not a problem, but when I asked if the clerk if they could recommend another florist in the area, she laughed and said good luck since there are so few florist left in the area. I was willing to pay for the helium and their time. The clerk was very short on the phone and lacked customer skills. I am sorry to say I will not be using this store in the future to send flowers for special occasions. I am happy to say I did find another florist in town that was more than happy to assist.
