I would not recommend if you have massHealth she will tell you you need a referral after my second visit I was told by her that my insurance was has not paid her with in the same conversation. She told me how much she charges, but I called the insurance and the insurance company said they paid her already I haven't heard from her since. read more

Oh my.. where do I start?! I would never wish back pain on anyone! When I woke up with excruciating pain in my back and could barely move my neck -- whew... I'll spare you the story about how I ended up like that -- anywho, I thought to myself, 'I prefer to give birth all over again.' I found Dr. Tejada online after searching for the closest PT or chiropractor near me that could see me right away. Dr. Tejada was very accommodating and saw me immediately. The first day I went, the pain was so horrible that Dr. Tejada could not even slightly touch me! I'm talking I was flinching at the slightest touch! She evaluated me and then she did her magic -- those electric thingys (such an adult word... I have no idea what they're called); laser, massage, adjustments... the whole nine. She instructed me on stretches to do at home and provided me with a lacrosse ball so that I could continue to loosen up my muscles. The more I went back to Dr. Tejada, the more I felt like a new woman! Today, I can honestly say she brought me BACK to life (pun intended). I first visited Steps to Wellness when a friend told me about her experience with the office. My experience was similar to my friends, the office was clean, modern, and welcoming. The waiting area looks like my living room! Best of all, Dr. Tejada made every effort to understand my specific pain and not suggest where I felt it. I am absolutely thrilled to have found Dr. Tejada! She is the best chiropractor I've ever been to. I hurt my lower back recently and couldn't even sit down. Dr. Tejada got me in the very next day, and I was amazed that my back was 80% better just after that first visit! Seriously, I was on cloud nine - not only did I feel so much better, but she said I should be back to my old self after just 1-2 additional visits! Wow! After my second visit (about 2 days after the first one), I was 98% better. The morning after my 2nd visit, I was back to 100% and could resume exercising. That is pretty amazing for just 2 visits! ! I opted to go in for a 3rd visit just to make sure everything is on track, but I suppose I could have skipped it because I truly didn't have any more pain after the 2nd adjustment. What's more, she suggested some stretches for me to do that will help me keep my back healthy and avoid injury in the future - I am so appreciative of this because it shows she really cares about her patients. Dr. Tejada was super patient and took tons of time with me to pinpoint what the problem was, relax the muscles, do some targeted stretching, and then do the adjustments. Other chiropractors I have been to spend as little as 5 minutes with you and then rush into the next exam room to see the next patient. I never felt rushed with Dr. Tejada and felt she really listened to me. For me, the best part was that she wasn't afraid to really get in there and move stuff around - after all, the more work we could do, the faster I could get better! But for those of you who are worried about chiropractic being painful, don't worry. She is sensitive to your pain tolerance level, especially on your first visit when she's getting to know you. She watches you carefully during the adjustments and if you're on your stomach, she tells you before she does anything and explains exactly what she's going to do. Finally, I'd like to mention that Dr. Tejada never pressured me to come in for more visits - just for how many I needed to get better (2). To think I could see Dr. Tejada just TWO times (after I couldn't even bear to sit down!) and feel completely better is just amazing. I came to Steps to Wellness with some chronic shoulder pain. I just finished my third session with Dr Tejada and the pain is much more manageable. After the initial checkup (measuring mobility, etc), she treated me with electro-stimulation, massage, and neck adjustment. Her approach is very effective. Dr. Tejada truly did help me recover from my horrible back pain. I showed up to her office on a Tuesday after having had a muscle sprain the weekend prior on a trip to a surprise engagement. The pain was absolutely unbearable, and I was unable to walk 15 feet before having to crouch down on the ground to feel any sort of relief. After 15 minutes in her care, I was able to stand up for longer than 5 minutes without feeling the need to cry in pain.
