This farm has maintained its charm through years/decades. The farm stand feels homey and "farmy" (not like the more upscale, enclosed building with an A/C model, gentrified/commercialized), which is amusing because this is a BIG commercial operation with its own fleet of semi-trucks. But still a good place to buy produce and plants, with unique and plentiful offerings, some grown here like black, white, and red currants and rotating seasonal unique berries (tayberry, gooseberry, marionberries, etc), and the "normal" berries you expect, as well as several other produce items grown here and a decent selection of produce not grown here. Had to update my review because I haven't gotten the best customer service there, especially from (one of) the owner(s) who in two occasions has been friendly with the customer before me and then gets to me, no smile, no greeting. He asked me if I needed a bag and gave me my total, handed me the receipt, no "thank you" and I don't think he even made eye contact with me either. Still love to shop there, produce is excellent, other local products are great and they seem to always have new stuff, don't get me started on the beautiful plants just the customer service is lacking. read more

I have been shopping here since they opened. As a farmers daughter I love to support local farmers, but the last couple of years I have been so disappointed. The owners are so unfriendly and actually rude at checkout. As a former business owner I realize there are days when stress is high, but I never let my customers feel that. A couple of days ago my husband and I stocked up on produce. It was busy. Apparently my husband wasn't bagging fast enough and we felt rushed to get our groceries into our bags. E ery farm where I am from, it's 5 dollars for parking and 10-15 dollars a person just to step on the property, it's insane that others charge you, to spend money at their farm. Definitely in love with this place!! It's been on my bookmarks for a really, really long time, but it's a good 20 miles away from home...worth it? Yeah. It's 100% completely and totally worth the drive time (and driving on 167, at that) to get to this place, even though the growing season is winding down. Beautiful U-Pick sunflower field! Definitely a bit past its prime for this year, but I will most definitely be going back next year so I can get my frolic on. Looks like the pumpkin patch is coming in nicely. Excellent selection of various trees and hedges...including topiary!!! They had a bunch of different styles and I really appreciated the artwork behind doing something like that (they are priced appropriately). Really great produce stand. Tons of selection and I was able to get all of the usual veggies I stock up on for the week...plus several things I've never eaten before and decided to impulse buy. Both the quality and prices were great -- this is really what makes it worth the drive for me. They also had a good selection of items from other local businesses. Various pickled items, jam, honey, etc. etc. with my favourite being the Schwartz Bros Bakery items! I don't know if I'll be coming down here every weekend to get my weekly produce, but it's definitely going to be a frequent thing when it's growing season! read more

We had family in town and brought everyone out for strawberry picking! We were given a row, a box and some small containers for the kids and let loose. It was super hot out so we only did 20 minutes of picking but tried to get everything. We ended up with over 20 lbs if berries! The kids had a great time and sticky faces to prove it. Thankfully everyone wore shoes that could be easily washed since they were covered in berry juice. read more

Okay good people, its time! Amazingly large baskets ok f flowers, and Strawberries! Endless starts and beautiful plants of all kinds at reasonable prices. Dont over pay for them at big brand groceriry stores. And, as with each spring/summer, I juice. It is a personal labor of love but I dont want to take one more expensive supplement. I spent about 35 to 40 on fruits and veggies for two weeks. They dont offer juicing veggies but the variety is terrific. They dont take Sr. Farmer market vouchers, sighs but I will forgive them. Farmers from around the valley and Yakima supply a cornucopia of health. Enjoy and dont miss this truly special place. read more

Where to begin? So much color and Washington fresh local produce in every direction I look beautifully displayed. We choose pumpkins 2 for $10.00, strawberries that were pleasingly flavorful $8.00, star fruit, jalapeño, 2 scrumptious chocolate caramel apples from Richland's Country Mercantile $8.00 each, 2 heads of orange cauliflower, fantastic apples, can not remember what other treasures, see photos. What a cool pumpkin patch close to Tacoma! We've known of it for a while, but this was our first year visiting. I don't know if this is a normal thing, but if you go right before Halloween they do a $1 deal on most of their pumpkins. No gimmicks! Corn maze too, but we were just there for pumpkins. Discovered this cute little produce stand on the way to Chief Leschi school. They had a bunch of fall pumpkins, squashes, gourds. Super cute! I bought a few of their smaller ones for some easy decor. Love, love, love this place. Everything is super fresh, they have an amazing pumpkin patch, everyone is super nice and they were having free hotdog the day we went there. The pumpkins are 3/$10 is the special ones at 2/$10. Can't beat the price. Their produce price is also amazing. Got some giant red peppers for 2/$1 and the green peppers were I think 4/$1 something cheap like that. Bring your family, pick your pumpkins and even head on to their corn maze. Great place! We got pumpkins here before thanksgiving for $1 any pumpkin and size (jack o lantern). They have other funny shaped pumpkins but a little more expensive. We had the worst experience ever at Sterino farms today. The female cashier was so rude! she told the person in front of us that she couldn't purchase the raspberries that an employee brought up for her. She then proceeded to tell Tim(I'm assuming he's the boss) that the customer didn't want them. She was very rude to us and wasn't even looking at items and the amounts we had, she was just ringing up whatever she felt like, until I called her on it. I'll say it: I'm on a budget. Last year at this time Sterino was selling pumpkins for $1.00 each. It's October 28th, and Pumpkins are still two for $10.00 here. How often does anyone leave a review on CELERY!? Never would be my guess. I ordered some to dehydrate as I was running low. And, ohmygoshness...if you can describe celery as incredible it is! It took only one bunch to fill 7 shelves in my food dehydrater as it is huge vs the usual two bunches. It is also very clean and crisp , no waste. I ordered it from Walmart with my grocery delivery so I had no idea what to expect. Perfect for stuffing/filling, salads, etc. I am impressed! read more

I have been doing Sterino's since the old days when they were in Fife and I was in Federal Way. I was heartbroken when they left. Then I moved to Sumner and was out driving in Puyallup one day and saw their sign that they were now on 52nd. I have been going ever since every week or so that they are open. The melons that he gets are wonderful. The part I like best is when the produce is stuff that he has grown. The fresh produce is the greatest and so is the price. If you haven't tried his corn then you haven't lived.. Sterino's is definitely my favorite produce stand and will always be my first choice. I went here to buy some fruit and vegetables. I bought a cookie and the lady upfront at the register, grabbed my stuff to scan, and then when I saw my stuff on the other side of the scanner, the cookie was broken. It wasn't broken before, and it was fine on the conveyer belt. So I asked the lady, and said, "this wasn't broken before, can I get a new one?" When o asked she rolled her eyes, shrugged her shoulder a bit and commented saying "sure". With attitude. She was super rude to me, never said have a good day, like she did to everyone else after they left and made me feel indomitable. I will not be buying anything from this place anymore. The atmosphere was okay, but after that, no more. The prices are already ridiculous. $10 for a small bag of cherries? I won't be supporting this market. I don't feel any sense of community. With prices the way they are they care more about appearance and money. Sad. But not surprised considering where this is located and who their customers are. read more

Hands down. Completely out of the way for me to come to regularly but I don't even care. I'd do it just for the quality and pricing. Prices were phenomenal. Way cheaper than the local grocery stores. This is a great place to shop for fresh local produce. We enjoy supporting our local farmers and the quality of items are awesome. Their prices are competitive with the local grocery stores and sometimes even better! Not only do they have produce but they sell pots, fertilizer, plants (tomato, herbs, etc), salsa, bread, frozen berries, ice cream, jam from the local Jam Factory in Puyallup, local honey, and Smith Brothers milk. The staff are very friendly and helpful too. They've been open just a few weeks and we've been there at least once or twice a week. The stand is open and airy, roomy aisles, and well lit. My family will visit us from Seattle and they love this stand. My Mom RAVED about their lettuce, grapes, apricots, and strawberries. We are a fan and I hope that they continue to do well. read more

I have a support animal. I have shopped at Sterinos for years. Every year he even gets his photo with Santa. I carry him in a covered papoose. He is away from everyone and covered. Today, I was met right out of my car with, a rude, old blond lady with a complete attitude, telling me:"Ma'am you cant have your animal!" I explained I have been coming for years and it has never been a problem before. She said "no". I will not shop here or recommend as long as that rude woman is there. She obviously doesn't understand customer service or have compassion. Sterinos should definitely not have her on the floor. From what I understand, others have seen her there and she's always rude. My daughter's school had a field trip to Sterino's to get pumpkins and go through the corn maze. The staff was really amazing! Someone (Graham I believe?) led our huge group of first graders through the maze. I've never been through one, it is much longer than it appears from the street. The staff also made little goodie bags for the kids and personally drove pumpkins to the school so we didn't have to cart them back (it's worth mentioning that this was a walking field trip so the school is close to begin with). I drive by Sterino's every day but have never stopped. We got a chance to walk through the store and I will definitely be back. I couldn't get over honey crisp apples under $1 per pound!
