After finding Cliffside and being sold on the view we were not disappointed. We sat outside b/c although we got there at 5pm opening time, they only had space for us on in the Cliff! So plan ahead and make a reservation! We ordered the special w/fish (can't remember what type), rosemary chicken, and pasta w/shrimp, wedge and side salads. The Italian soda was to die for... My husband is allergic to fish and was going to get the Chicken Fried Chicken; but they fry it in the same oil as their fish. I appreciated them letting us know this ahead of time. There's lots of parking, beautiful views from the parking lot and restaurant. If I ever return to St.George this is my first stop!

My stepmom enjoyed the Southwest salad and thought it was very good, although, as others have mentioned, the $9 charge to add protein felt a bit steep. I ordered the pear and four-cheese pasta, and it did not disappoint--absolutely delicious! Overall, we had a wonderful dining experience and will definitely return the next time we're in St. George. We enjoyed it so much that we also highly recommended it in the guest book at the place where we were staying.

There are places you go... and then there are places that feel like you've finally come home…read more The Painted Pony is the latter. We adore slipping away for lunch and settling onto the patio, where the world softens--shade drapes gently overhead, birds sing as if they've been hired just for the occasion, and time... well, time slows down enough to breathe. The service is nothing short of immaculate--attentive in that quiet, effortless way that makes you feel seen without ever being interrupted. And the food... oh, the food. The bacon-wrapped dates must have been crafted in heaven... or perhaps meant for the gods and somehow gifted to us. The tuna melt was so transcendent I found myself wondering if I had ever truly tasted tuna before... or if I had just been living a lesser version of the experience all along. And the beef bourguignon... my heavens. It was as if your grandmother--if she were also a five-star chef--had been waiting for you, simmering something rich and soulful to welcome you back after a long journey. Even the tea felt royal... and the mocktails were so delightful, so thoughtfully made, that not once did we miss the alcohol. The Painted Pony isn't just a meal... it's a return.

The Painted Pony in St. George, UT - A Cozy Gem with One Miss (Pass on the Crab Cakes)…read moreIf you're looking for a solid upscale dinner spot in downtown St. George, The Painted Pony in Ancestor Square is a strong choice. Tucked into the Tower Building, this New American restaurant nails the Southwestern-meets-fine-dining vibe: intimate indoor seating with contemporary regional art, fresh flowers, and soft lighting, plus a charming patio for when the weather cooperates. It feels romantic and relaxed without being stuffy--perfect for date night or a special occasion while visiting southern Utah.c91b9be2267e Service was attentive and friendly without hovering. Our server knew the menu well and made solid wine recommendations (they've got a nice list, and no-corkage Mondays are a nice touch if you BYO from a Utah store). Portions are generous for the price point--definitely not the tiny-plate nonsense you sometimes get at fine-dining spots. We started with the carrot jalapeño soup (bright, flavorful, and a nice kick) and the baked brie, which was rich and perfectly paired with the seasonal chutney and crostini. For mains, the bone-in pork chop and the hanger steak were highlights--well-cooked, juicy, and packed with flavor from the fresh ingredients and thoughtful sauces. The sides (mac & cheese and haricot verts) were solid too. We finished with the key lime pie, which was a bright, creamy winner. One note, though: pass on the crab cakes. They're a menu staple (around $16, served with something like pomegranate salsa or poblano aioli depending on the season), but ours were mostly filler with a noticeably fishy taste. Not worth the spot on the table when there are so many stronger starters and entrées.781e4d Overall, we'd happily return to The Painted Pony. It's one of the better fine-dining options in St. George--great atmosphere, strong service, and mostly excellent food at reasonable prices for what you get. Just skip the crab cakes and you'll have a winner of a meal. 4/5 stars. Recommended for visitors and locals alike. Reservations advised, especially on weekends.

I was not prepared to love this place so much. Let me explain. We had just driven in from Vegas and…read morewe headed right to Snow Canyon to do the Padre Canyon hike. After we finished we were going to meet my cousin who lives in St George to do another hike. Gecko or something like that. I needed a pick me up. We stopped at the gas station in the same shopping center bc I needed a restroom and I was totally ok with basic no frills coffee for the sole purpose of getting some caffeine into my body. Whelp, they had no coffee. Ummm what? So I walked out and directly over to FeelLove. TBH I felt gross bc I was dirty, un-showered and kind of wasn't in the mood for bougie coffee. As soon as I walked up and heard chill coffee spot music I realized....I was wrong. Once inside my eyes were treated to the most beautiful unique decor I've ever seen in a coffee shop. This place could rival any of its kind in LA or Vegas. When I approached the counter the ladies behind it were very busy whipping up both drive through & in house orders. One of them acknowledged me and said someone would be with me shortly and within 1 min someone was. The gal who took my order was friendly and answered my questions-about their sweetener options with a smile. $5.48 for a 16oz hot Americano w steamed almond milk & monk fruit. Standard cost. Once my drink order was taken my hubby took a seat and I was checking out all the tantalizing treats. It took ALL of my will power to not order a slice of the carrot cake which looked like it was baked in house along with the other goodies. We were going to be hiking shortly so I didn't want a sugar bomb sitting in my stomach the whole time. I do wish I had taken a piece to-go to enjoy later that night. Next time for sure! Once my order was called I picked it up and joined my husband to sip my java. It was delicious! Smooth, piping hit, heavenly sweetened and soothing to the soul! Oh how glad I am that I was wrong about this place. It was beautiful, served excellent coffee and the employees were all very polite. I will be bake FeelLove. Save me some carrot cake!

The bagel sandwich was not great and both specialty lattes tasted identical, nothing to set them apart or make them any better than your average chain coffee. Plus no parking. 5-Star Review: Spiritual Speakeasy - A Hidden Gem Cocktail Parlor in Downtown St. George…read moreIf you're in St. George and craving a night out that feels worlds away from the typical Utah bar scene, Spiritual Speakeasy (2 W St. George Blvd #5, right at Ancestor Square) is an absolute must. It's not just another spot--it's a true speakeasy-style cocktail lounge with that perfect moody, intimate Prohibition-era vibe. Think dim lighting, plush vintage settees and ornate seating that feels like stepping into a gothic 1800s parlor, gilded mirrors, stone crosses, and an electric yet cozy energy that's ideal for date night, a special occasion, or just unwinding with friends. Spiritual Speakeasy Bar (2026) - All You MUST Know Before You Go (with Reviews) The cocktails here are next-level--award-winning (they've taken Best Bar in Southern Utah multiple times, and it shows). I went with the Smoked Old Fashioned (beautifully balanced, smoky perfection with premium spirits) and the Spicy Dead Lady (a creative, flavorful kick that's become a favorite). They also do standouts like Espresso Martini, Pornstar Martini, Skull Chapel, and Holy Grail, all crafted with top-shelf ingredients including Utah's own High West whiskeys. The bartenders are true mixologists--super knowledgeable, friendly, and happy to chat about the spirits or customize something just for you. Spiritual Speakeasy - St. George, UT | joe coffee It's open daily from 5 PM to 1 AM (or 2 AM some nights), with live DJs on weekends adding to the lively but not overwhelming atmosphere. It's intimate (can feel a bit cozy/crowded when busy), and the music can get loud, but that's part of the electric speakeasy charm. Service is attentive, though it can slow down on peak nights--totally worth it. In a town not exactly known for wild nightlife, this place punches way above its weight. Sophisticated, fun, and unexpectedly upscale. We've already made it our go-to whenever we're in St. George. If you love craft cocktails and a unique vibe, hunt it down--you won't regret it. Highly recommended! (Pro tip: Look for the hidden entrance vibe--they make it feel like a real discovery.)

Came across this place & decided to celebrate our wedding here after everything was done!…read more Made a reservation online assuming it could be busy for cinco de mayo. We were able to be seated without an issue, they just opened around the time we came in. The ambiance was cool & different & the secret door was a cool touch. Drinks were great. Loved the variety they offered. I took a star off because the guy who checked our IDs in the front didn't tell us it was open seating, so we just stood there waiting to be helped not knowing what to do if we can sit anywhere , or needed to wait. The bartender didn't stop to welcome us , or let us know it was open seating. We aren't locals, nor have we been before, so standing there without any direction was kind of not welcoming. Overall, it was a cool vibe, drinks were good, however not sure if I would return when I do come into town.
