He then said the "heat exchanger is burnt out because it's purple" handed me a bill of $535 for the cleaning and left me without a working furnace/without heat when I have 3 kids. He said he'd call back once he spoke to his supervisor about what he can do about the furnace. I called the office 3 times over the next two days and they literally left me hanging. So in the end, they took $535 from me and never fixed the issue. I called pseg and they got my furnace working with minutes at no cost. Pseg said the drain tray needed emptying. That was it.

Second cal I narrowed down the pro alarm to air handler unit not coming ON. Right at start of call I was told he is expecting a call and does not have much time. Nor there was any empathy or care in the voice. As I proceeded to describe the issue with air handler, I was told he is busy and shortly into the discussion I was told call coming in and hang up !! No call back since then not any concern as to how to help a two time customer. Needless to say I got the issue fixed with another vendor. That also highlighted improper unit install - example : Compressor unit outside is at ground level, for all water and dirt to go in. It should have been at least 4 inches above ground and properly spaced from house structure. Now on the generator - the install was complete 8 years ago and then prior to inspection I realized that a portion of the install was omitted and without that it will fail inspection. Called Charlie 3-4 times over a period of 2 months to come back and fix the minor install issue. There was no response to multiple VMs and emails. Installation and getting paid is what drives this business. When a past customer needs help and repair, that's overlooked and ignored. In evaluating a vendor , both install and follow up service matter. Not to mention being polite and sincere. Unfortunately for me and them, that trust and confidence was breached and it's the end of the road. Many good vendors out there. I found one with a little effort.
