I am leaving this review to share my recent experience with the service department at Group 1 Honda of Kingwood. I recently brought my vehicle in for service and presented a service coupon that had been mailed to me by the dealership in April. Since I don't always need maintenance the moment coupons are sent, I've never had an issue in the past using one a few months later. When I arrived, I noticed the dealership had changed ownership/name since the coupon was issued. My service advisor, Juan, told me he could not accept the coupon because if he did, the discount would come out of his paycheck. He spoke with his manager, Keisha, who confirmed that this was their policy. Whether this is the dealership's policy or not, I found it very disappointing. Customers should not be placed in the middle of a situation where employees feel they have to choose between helping the customer and protecting their own pay. That reflects poorly on management. Unfortunately, this is not my first disappointing experience with the service department. I have continued to use this dealership over the years simply because it is conveniently located near my job. However, I have consistently experienced poor customer service from the service advisors, and there seems to be a constant turnover of service technicians. That leads me to believe the issue is more about management than the employees themselves. For those reasons, I can no longer recommend this dealership's service department. I will be taking my vehicle elsewhere for future maintenance and repairs. You can tell from the current rating how this review will go - 2 stars because I feel like 1 star is overlooked. Negative stars IF i could give it. I'm not in the habit of writing reviews but this is an extremely shady dealership with liars & employees who could truly benefit from customer service training - managers included. I was diligent in taking notes of the name of those who demonstrated flat out bad business practices. Barry Sands (no longer there since - he "resigned" a few weeks after I got my vehicle.) This was the first liar that I encountered & I'm not shocked of the timely "resignation." The second person that dealt in lying in the pre-owned sales manager by the name of Sri - this is who I spoke to about Barry lying to me and we spoke for a bit and the demeanor was as if it was expected and he passed it off as an "accident." He also found a way to insult me in the process. If it wasn't for me talking to and asking questions to the gentlemen who helped with the financing, I would have never noticed. The gentlemen in finance was friendly and probably the best employee that I spoke to since being there. When you call this location, there is a lady named Julia who I had to speak to several times (unfortunately) but I literally called this places almost 10 times, left several voicemails for both Sri & Barry AND Julia and one other lady whose name I can't remember said that they would pass my message along ..i NEVER received a callback or any follow up. Julia continually cut me off aggressively while speaking and continued trying to instantly pass me off without hearing me out completely. I had a due bill for a window tinting and was told when I could come back and the exact time that the tint person gets there. I got there when instructed in coincidentally that day I was told that the tint person wouldn't arrive until until 3 hours later ...which ended up being closer to 5 but thankfully I was able to work remotely so I sat in the dealership and ran errands for most of the time. Obviously I could have returned home but I live in the downtown area so I had no intentions of driving back home (30+ minutes) and then driving back again in the thick of traffic (another 30+ minutes) after arriving at the proper time. I cant emphasize enough how shady some of the people are here and they will tell blatant lies and just ...yuck. I hope to NEVER have to return for anything. I have bought several used and 2 brand new cars from this dealership over the years. NO MORE. Today I took my CRV in for an oil change. Made an appointment & arrived on time. Even though the service department seemed very busy- I had to wait in my car outside instead of going on- soon enough I was assigned a service manager. I used the shuttle service and didn't have to wait long for a ride home. Then of course there are the additional recommended services, but they send an email so you can check yes or no. They even get a Lyft back to the dealership when the car is ready (an added bonus I was not expecting & appreciate). However, when it is time to get my car and leave- that's when the problems started. First off, the brakes are super touchy now, even though I did not get brake work done. Almost gave myself whiplash turning out onto the feeder road. Then, before I get a mile away, the service light comes in for low tire pressure! Since it is 100+ degrees out and I have to get back home to work, I waited until I got home safely to call the service department. My service advisor is "at lunch", so the person I spoke to said "how do we know that is our fault" and "swing by" so we can look at it even though we didn't cause that to happen. Swing by in this part of town takes an hour because of construction. And yes, it is your issue because I just left the service department! I have never been so disappointed in the decline of a business and customer service as in what has happened at this dealership. I will take my business elsewhere. I got my car here 2 years ago and have been doing oil changes here since. I came in with an appointment today and I waited 3 hours for just an oil change. When I inquired how much longer, I was referred to Jessica Cloninger who was my "service advisor". She had my paperwork at her desk and asked me to wait for 10 mins to do the paperwork. 20 mins later, another advisor noticed I was waiting for too long, he said he was going to grab my paperwork and check me out. Point is don't book "Any Advisor" and don't book with Jessica Cloninger. Not sure what his name was, light blue polo shirt, but he made it right and got me out of there quickly. I called Sterling McCall Honda on friday 4-11 and scheduled an appointment with salesman Ty P. about a 2021 Honda Accord Sport. I told him I was pre-approved and I was going to buy the car on Saturday 4-12. No problem. He sent me the link via text to confirm the appointment for 11am. We arrived at the dealership around 11:15am Saturday morning due to Houston traffic and was approached by 2 different salesman about the car. Ty was nowhere to be found and upon speaking to the second salesman I was told that he left early. Again, no problem. I was working with Miranda (I think that was her name), and everything was going well. We looked at the car, I took it for a test drive and all was good. I was in the middle of negotiating and signing the OTD price and about to go to financing when I was told that the car I was buying was in the process of being sold by another used-car salesman because they got there first. I drove 1 1/2 hours with my 18 month old to purchase this car. EVEN MAKING A RESERVATION THE DAY PRIOR I was basically told I'm SOL. A 3-hour round trip plus my time wasted at the dealership. They offered 2 other cars that I wasn't interested in so naturally I declined. Excuse my language but this is bullshit. This was very poor management and one of the worst experiences I've had at a dealership, and I buy a lot of cars so that's not good. Sterling McCall Honda will NOT be getting my business, nor will any of their sister dealerships and hopefully my reviews I will be writing will deter others from shopping with them as well. After reading the warning reviews I took my car in to get serviced a few times, mostly for oil changes and the always found something wrong...last experience all of a sudden the new rep tells me that my horn needs to be replaced which I found very odd never having any problem with it before or it sounding faded and a drive out with no horn whatsoever and weeks later it works again? I also spent a lot of money getting the A/C repaired after they drained it and ran tests and here I am again with the same problem and spending another $500 somewhere else for something that was never fixed. BY FAR THE WORST CAR BUYING EXPERIENCE EVER!! I purchased a used 2020 Honda Accord CPO. I live in California and had the vehicle shipped to me. 1. I asked for two items to be done to the vehicle before it was shipped. Fix two minor dents and confirm the software was updated. Dents seemed like a they were fixed by an amateur. Salesman confirmed. Software was not updated and when i called back the salesman said I was lying and he never promised me anything. 2. As soon as I start the car the TPMS sensor goes off. I tried filling the tires with air but still nothing. I call the dealership and their only response "it didnt leave like that here". I do some digging and the dealer ship installed two different size tires on the car which cause the TPMS sensor to go off. The dealership did end up paying for a replacement tire. 3. I go to the DMV to register my car. The inspector says there is no VIN number on the windshield and can not be registered. I call the dealership and the manager says "its normal and I see this all the time". I may be wrong but I think when selling a car, the windshield VIN must be on there, especially from a dealership. I have to go through hoops the CHP and DMV to finally get this resolved. The dealership did not take any responsibility. It questions how well of an CPO inspection they did. I have been looking for a vehicle due to me getting in a car accident and my car being totaled. I have been searching for weeks looking for a car and kept running into so many different issues with different dealerships especially with their recon fees and dealership fees sometimes in the amount of up to $4,000. I felt like every single one of them were just trying to get over on me as well as force a vehicle on me. From the moment that I contacted Sterling McCall Honda Brayan was my first point of contact. I had no idea that he was a sales manager. The way that he answered every single one of my questions and walked me through every single thing as if I was a friend rather than a customer completely won me over. We had a little bit of issues with me trying to purchase the vehicle through my bank in Georgia and me being here in Texas and I could have easily got frustrated. They could have easily got frustrated but they helped me with no pressure. They weren't overwhelmed. They were pleased and happy to help me get this vehicle. I will never buy another car from Sterling McCall Honda in Kingwood because of their terrible customer service. First, they tried to give me only one key on a 2023. When I complained they told me that they would look into it and I never got a call back. The salesman told me that I would have to purchased one for $300 but he would work something out for me, but nothing happened. So I called up there and spoke to the sales director and after some going back and forth a day later a locksmith contacts me shows up at my house and gave me a key. Never got a call back, so I guess that's their version of handling it which I was okay with. Then when it's time for the license plate to be installed they call my wife(she co-signed but they sold and we're dealing with me) they tell her the license plate border is extra and they were out of then anyways. Common customer service would be to pull one off the numerous cars you have in your lot! But I'm glad they didn't because I don't want anything with that name on the vehicle we purchased! I recently had an extremely disappointing experience at Sterling McCall Honda in Kingwood, which began on Saturday, November 23, 2024 at 8:15am , when I brought my car in due to multiple issues, including warning lights, overheating, and problems with the accelerator. After explaining the situation to the service advisor, Jessica C., I was left waiting for seven hours with no clear updates or information about my car's status. When I requested more information, I was met with unprofessional behavior from Jessica. Her attitude was dismissive, which led to Manager Will S. stepping in to take over the situation. While I appreciated Will's professionalism and his apology for Jessica's behavior, the initial experience was extremely frustrating. By the end of the day, I was told my car needed several repairs, including a transmission fluid service, brake system flush, throttle body decarb, a tune-up, and injector replacements. The total estimate was $2,418.86 with shop charges and taxes, which I approved, including an oil change. However, I left the dealership without my car that day, at 3:00 PM, and did not get it back until the following Monday. On Monday, November 25, 2024, when I returned to pick up my car, I noticed that the oil change had not been performed, despite having requested it. Will did not include this in the work order. After some back-and-forth, the mechanic took another 30 minutes to perform the oil change. Additionally, I learned from the mechanic during a test drive that Jessica C. had received previous complaints about her attitude, which only further highlighted the lack of professionalism I had experienced. Unfortunately, my car's issues persisted. After leaving the dealership, my car continued to have the same problems with acceleration and shutting down. I returned to the dealership on Tuesday, November 26, 2024, and was told I would need to leave the car again for further diagnostics. To add to the frustration, I was informed that I would need to pay an additional $90 out-of-pocket for a rental car, despite being told that the dealership would cover the cost. At this point, I am still without my car, and I have not received any meaningful updates. I've spoken with other mechanics who have advised me that I was overcharged for services that could have been done at a much lower cost, including the diagnostic check that I was charged $1,646.82 for. I was also informed that many of the recommended services were simply routine maintenance and should have been part of the regular diagnostic checks that are typically included in basic service packages, which leads me to question the transparency and integrity of the services provided. I am extremely disappointed with both the service I received and the lack of accountability for the issues with my vehicle. The experience has left me feeling scammed and emotionally distressed, as I have no clear answers about what is wrong with my car or why I've been charged for services that were unnecessary. I strongly advise caution if you are considering bringing your vehicle to Sterling McCall Honda in Kingwood. The lack of professionalism, unclear communication, and questionable pricing practices make it difficult to trust that they have your best interests in mind. read more

The service department sucks! I came in to get a replacement bulb for one headlight and waited 45 minutes. All those workers with there head in their cell phone content to let a senior citizen stand there that long without seeing if I could be helped. I went inside and purchased the bulb from the parts counter and just needed someone to put it in. I did approach Angel and asked him about it and he said he would send someone right to me. After 35 minutes of standing there I go back and ask if someone is on there way. He then drives my car to the back and comes back with it 15 minutes later. Then proceeds to check every bulb while I stand and wait some more. This was done on purpose. I won't purchase my next vehicle here. read more

He helped me narrow down what Accord models that best fit my exact criteria. In addition, he was very patient and took the time to walk me through the pros and cons of each model. Ok so I purchased a car from this place 2 months ago and they sold me a paint warranty that covered any issues with the paint etc. so I was washing the and noticed that the paint was flaking of on the back to bare metal so I had called the warranty and got denied coverage. Forced Extended Auto Warranty Scam!!! Beware of the Finance Department !!! In particular finance manager Ryan. He was in the second office as you head towards finance department. First office belongs to Joseph then the second one is Ryan's office. Beware of this guy. He will try to force you to buy warranty because the bank requires you inorder for you to qualify for the loan. That is total BS. Ask them to see the callback or approval sheet where the lender requires you to purchase an extended warranty or other back-end products. It is false and against the law! If he's persistent, have the dealer commit it in writing that the warranty "is required to be approved for your loan." Tell them you want to show it to your State Attorney and the Better Business Bureau for confirmation. Watch how quick they back off. By Law, a lending institution cannot require a customer to purchase an extended warranty, GAP insurance, credit life, disability, or other back-end finance products. Also be aware of another sneaky trick they my try on you and that's called Payment Packing. Ryan tried to pull this on scam on us when we came to purchase a vehicle from there. BEWARE OF THIS GUY!! I went in for my regular oil change this morning and... I ended up walking out with a new car. I had missed the Honda sales event and was happily surprised to see that they were doing appraisals. My suv was not in great shape anymore and they were able to get me a great deal within my budget. I honestly couldn't be happier. I'm so thankful that sterling-Honda has such a great team. I got a lease from Sterling McCall Honda three years ago. For those who don't know, when you get a lease you have the option to buy out your car when the lease expires for an agreed upon price which is all put in writing when you sign your lease agreement. When I went to purchase my car for what we had agreed on, the manager Paul came and tried to lie to me saying it says "fees" and because of that word he tried charging me $3,000 more then the written price. His exact words were " I can charge whatever I want I'm the cheapest in town feel free to go ask around". Well, I didn't have to do that. All I had to do was call Honda financial services and they handled it over the phone for the EXACT AMOUNT which we agreed on three years prior. Over the three years the service has been excellent Darryl specifically is absolutely amazing and I don't want to bash everyone that works here but when it comes to sales and Paul specifically he is a scammer and a liar and I would stay as far away as possible from him and anyone who has anything to do with him when purchasing a car. Note to owner: Fire Paul if not, make sure he doesn't practice these sort of sales tactics. This is horrible customer service and trying to cheat your loyal customers out of thousands of dollars is unforgivable. I will never purchase another car here again. read more
