I had a concern about something in my dogs eye and my normal vet couldn't get her in on short notice, Sterling was the 5th vet I called going down the list and they quickly made time for her, only 3 hours notice. Everyone there was so friendly, they brought me back with them, gave the dog treats to try to comfort her, I was amazed at their approach with her, while it may have only been 5 minutes of extra time, I appreciate them slowing down strictly for my dogs comfort. I was initially concerned about going somewhere I was unfamiliar with but the experience was so good I will be taking my dog there from now on for all of her services. Thank you Sterling for such a great experience!

The entire staff (assistants, techs, doctors) are incredible! Whether it be urgent care hours or scheduled visits- I've had to experience both on multiple occasions. Thorough, communicative, gentle, and patient. 100% would recommend. Can't imagine better for your beloved pets.

Very satisfied with this practice. Dr. Nakaoka and the technician who saw us for our appointment (Im sorry I forgot her name), they were both fantastic. Our care was swift and efficient but at the same time they were very thorough. Our cat who is usually very stressed and skittish was VERY relaxed and loving with the staff, overall very comfortable. Will be establishing care with this vet!

Now, she has had many ear infections and I've always resolved it with a home remedy I found online. I did the home remedy the night before but she was still shaking her head in the morning. So, I called and they told me to bring her in. They were aware that they had never seen her and she was seen at another Vet in town. When I took her in, I made sure she had some muscle relaxers before her appt because she gets afraid. I also put an E-collar and a muzzle because she's a Pittie and people can be intimidated by her. When the two Vets came in, they wanted her records and the person scheduling appt never told me to bring one with me even though she was aware they had never seen her. So I was annoyed, because I would've brought that in with me. Then, they asked if she took anything for her anxiety and I told them I gave her Trazodone. Anyways, even with me holding her, and having a muzzle on, he didn't really try looking in her ear? She didn't show aggression or barking, she just wanted to go home because she was afraid. They said they would need to sedate her in order to get a closer look. So instead of treating her ear, they tried to sell me a $29/month wellness plan. I declined because she's super healthy and rarely goes to the Vet except to get her annual done. Since I declined, they offered to sell me meds, but I already have them at home, so I declined that. So long story short, I paid $94 for nothing. They didn't even mention anything about her ears except that if I had the wellness plan, I could bring her in unlimited times. Also, not to try the online remedies. Anyways, she was just fine after we got home, the home remedy had finally kicked in and age was ear infection free!

The surgeon was highly skilled and achieved clean margins. The lump was later confirmed to be malignant, but five months later there is still no known spread. Thanks to this thorough exam, my dog received needed dental care and had cancer detected and treated early. Because she is brachycephalic, the team closely monitored her breathing and recovery. They safely completed both procedures in one surgery while carefully managing her specific risks. Dr. Collins' Care Dr. Collins is an outstanding veterinarian--friendly, empathetic, thorough, and genuinely invested in my dog's health. She is also thoughtful and practical in her treatment approach. We've seen her twice. My senior dog first visited for an upset stomach, and given her cancer history, Dr. Collins ordered X-rays to rule out blockage or metastasis--both were negative. At our most recent visit, she warmly described my dog as a sweetheart and a great patient, reflecting her clear compassion for animals. I'm very grateful for her excellent care. Technicians and Receptionists Despite a stressful visit, I felt supported and understood. The technicians were extremely thorough, followed all hospital policies including consent before recording, took detailed notes, and asked thoughtful questions I might have missed. The reception staff were also patient and helpful, even when I came up multiple times with questions. When I requested an update, someone promptly checked on my dog. It's clear the entire team truly cares about animals, and the positive morale is evident. Overall, they deserve 5 out of 5 stars. The pricing is moderate, but compared to the well-known vet in Loomis we were going to, it's been almost half the price.

The veterinary technician (an older woman with short hair and tattoos; I didn't catch her name) interrupted my explanation of my dog's bloody stool and assured me that the stool sample I brought in would provide all the necessary information. She told me that photos and additional details were unnecessary. The lab results later came back negative, but my dog continues to have blood in his stool, so it's possible that the additional information could have been helpful. The following morning, I was informed that the test results were negative. I explained that my dog was still experiencing the same symptoms and was told that the veterinarian, Dr. Stephen Harris, would call me shortly to discuss possible causes and next steps. That was yesterday, and I have yet to receive a call. The only communication I've received since then was an automated text message asking me to complete a survey and leave positive feedback about their services. I was also concerned about some of the charges on my bill. When I asked the Vet Tech about an "Ear Cleaning - Difficult" charge, despite my dog being muzzled and sedated during the procedure, the technician could not explain why it was applied. She ultimately changed it to a standard ear cleaning charge. The price difference wasn't significant, but it raised concerns about the accuracy of the billing. Overall, the lack of communication, dismissal of important information about my dog's condition, and questionable billing practices left me with a negative impression. I would recommend that anyone visiting this clinic carefully review their invoice and ask for explanations of any charges they don't understand. I don't even do yelp reviews except to help small businesses, but when they asked for a positive review after all that I decided to give them an honest one.

You prefer patients get medication at your clinic. So do I, you prescribed pregabalin for Tess that is hard to find, your clinic doesn't fill it and prices range from 300 down to 34. Chewy doesn't have it. All I needed was for your staff to ok the fill over the phone with no additional paperwork. This involved checking the prescription on the computer and authorizing it. They said no twice even after contacting a manager. 2. You were Charlie's PTP. You had all his records, ordered tests and handled some of his routine follow-up while he was being treated at UC Davis. We spent thousands of dollars at your clinic on Charlie for tests. UC Davis indicated within 5 minutes of me taking him there that he had a pronounced heart murmur. He had been seen at your clinic only one week before. I don't know if you listened to his heart, but Davis was very surprised that our vet had not caught the murmur. Charlie had endocarditis, we will never know if catching it earlier would have made any difference but the endless scans to his abdomen and numerous blood tests were financially very difficult and in the end heartbreaking and unnessary. I would have appreciated if some common sense could have been used given Tess" prescription as what you prescribed is not easy to obtain, and that a more thorough routine exam of Charlie could have been done prior to running expensive tests. I had such a negative experience with Dr. Priest that I felt this review was necessary for other cat owners. Dr. Priest worsened our difficult decision to put our very sick cat out of its misery after weeks of treatment with her. My husband and I are both educated from UC Davis and had the opportunity to visit compassionate hospitals in both the Bay Area (San Ramon Vet Hospital) and Davis throughout our lives as students and full-time workers with pets. We know good Veterinarians exist. Dr. Priest needs more training, or she should retire from practice. Dr. Priest was cold and harshly judgmental as to how we chose to handle medical treatment; deaf to our explanations of its suffering and sudden weight loss; and stuck on more medical tests/treatment. After our initial request to have our cat put down, she asked for more blood work and evaluations. Tormented that we were not doing our best, we agreed to her recommendation for bloodwork (came back negative for any issue) and injections. We knew our cat, which we rescued as an adult and enjoyed for 13 years, but our request was completely rejected. Dr. Priestly justified her recommendation for more treatment with "she's not ancient! I have 20+ year old cats!" REALLY?!? I left with a bill of approximately $800 in office visits, blood work, exams, and liquid medicine because our cat was so thin and didn't eat. After a week or so, our beloved cat was worse with the development of lumps around her neck and back legs. (We believe she was developing cysts or some weird reaction to the treatment.) We then decided to take our cat to a different Vet. In our cat's last appointment with Dr. Priest, the cat was hardly moving and weakened. Dr. Priest lifted our sick cat out of her carrier BY HER NECK which I later read was "scruffing." I was shocked but it happened too quickly for me to reach out. *I had to Google whether scruffing was an acceptable practice for Veterinarians, and I don't believe it is. My cat was limp and her face looked terrible -- we NEVER lifted her or picked her up in that way. We will not return to Cats Only as long as Dr. Priest continues to practice there.
