Service was terrific!! I love the ambiance, there was live music, and the decor inside creates a great vibe! To start off, the bone marrow was packed with flavor and they served a great amount. I wish the bread was less toasted, it was like a crostini. That is just a personal preference, still tasted great!! The sides are large portions so we shared two and an entree. Everything was cooked perfectly and tasted amazing! I will say the star of the night was the creme brulee.... It was the best I've had! The Ambiance was nice. It was on the older feel, kinda dark but was very well put together. The service was good. The waitress was very knowledgeable and was quite helpful. The food in the other hand was quite over priced. I'm sure it maybe priced competitively for this area but it was lacking a little flavor as well. I was extremely close to asking for steak sauce which should never happen if the steak is seasoned properly. I've been to much lower priced steak house chains that season way better. The cuts of the meat were very good cuts though. The steaks all seemed to be cooked a proper temperature so it was just an issue with seasoning the food properly. The platting of the food was good. Presentation of the seafood platter was a head turner. Overall this steakhouse I would put it in the middle of the pack and probably would not return. read more

As steak houses go, I eat a lot of high end this is a about MEH average. Got a tomahawk to share for three, to be honest it was below average. The ribeye was about what a high end steak house should do. The Mash was decent and the roasted Brussels were way too burnt. The live entertainment was fun and easy on the ears. This is our second experience here. So we at least gave them a chance to redeem after the first fiasco. Short list of New Years dinner: Steaks - came out cold Seafood - came out cold Sent back to kitchen for a fast pan reheat... Steaks came out colder again Seafood came out even colder again We bagged it up and took it all home to reheat ourselves. Dinner wasn't a total loss... The wine was perfect. Don't be two females attempting to dine at this restaurant on a Sat. night. First clue should have been availability in mid-afternoon on Sat. Hostesses were pleasant and seated us immediately; went down hill from there. Waiter only gave us moments to make a drink decision and our order. He became obviously frustrated when we were not ready upon his return less than 5 mins mins. later. Food delivery was poorly timed as we hadn't finished our starters when the mains were delivered. Ribeye, filet, mushrooms and mashed potatoes medicore at best. At least they were warm. Had to flag him down to get a second drink. What was sad is that the Waiter was fawning over the table next to us (3 guys), and I have the suspicion our per person check was greater than theirs. Absolutely no excuse for such service at a high end steak house. Upon leaving I expressed our displeasure with the hostess (who was very professional) and requested the owner/manager's email address. She didn't have them. Guessing the Manager wasn't even on duty, as she didn't bring him to the desk to address our experience. Was looking for something upscale to enjoy the evening. They only had 4 star average but decided to give it a try. Ordered the ribeye and the baseball filet. Also the sterling fries and the wedge salad. First the place was mostly empty so the service was great. The full wedge salad was a full half head of lettuce so you could easily get the half size. It was great but needed to order extra dressing. The steaks were very good and flavorful. The ribeye was well marbled. The baseball steak was not as flavorful . The fries were also good and a large shareable serving. A few things that dropped my rating was that you don't just get bread but have to order it. Also ordered a coke but got a can with ice. The seats are terribly comfortable and you slide down them (they are slippery and slanted down) so you have to brace yourself by leaning forward onto the table. Really disappointed in our meal tonight as we saw so many good reviews on this place. Overall, everything lacked seasoning and we had to add a TON of salt and pepper to make it edible. I got the prime rib ($60) which tasted old and soaked in oil. My husband got the rib eye ($58) which was the same way. We ordered the garlic mashed potatoes ($14) which had zero garlic flavor. I think we added more salt and pepper to our food at this restaurant than any other place before. I also asked for creamy horseradish ($3) and it was literally watery... like milk. We were greeted by Andrekos, the assistant general manager. He was friendly and very welcoming! We loved getting to chat with him. He sat us promptly. Our server was Casey and he was incredibly knowledgeable about the menu and his recommendations were spot on! I loved the environment of the restaurant. Kind of elegant with a western twist. Music was old classic rock but around 7 pm, there was live music. Volume was perfect, I was still able to have a conversation without out to speak up. My wife and started with the red bike load/bread. It was AMAZING. One of my favorite parts of the night. We also split the rib eye, Brussels, and garlic mashed potatoes. It was MORE than enough food for the two of us. We didn't even finish the sides. The steak had good flavor, no need for salt or sauce. Brussel sprouts weren't too crispy but were great! I could eat them all day. The mashed potatoes were okay. I'd probably have added more garlic flavor and butter but we still ate them!! Great atmosphere with excellent quality food and drinks. We had Ribeyes, Prime Rib, New York Steak, Brussel Sprouts, Mac n Cheese, Mashed Potatoes, and bread with roasted garlic....ALL AMAZING!!! Our steaks were first class and the staff and owner treated us like family. Jackson Sterling was friendly and our waiter, Max, was friendly and candid. We enjoyed every minute of our night so much that we spent three hours in the restaurant and never realized how much time had passed. I had really high hopes for Sterling Steak and Lounge. The aesthetic, the atmosphere, the menu, pretty much everything from a glance at Sterling Steak and Lounge looks perfect for what Kimball Junction needs. Unfortunately, it really just fell flat for me. The food was lacking flavor, it's so frustrating. It's all of my favorite stuff with just less flavor. I had a filet which was very pricey to begin with, it was a well cooked average cut of meat, that just didn't have a ton of flavor to it. I also grabbed some peppercorn sauce to help, unfortunately the sauce was so thin it more resembled salad dressing. I also had mashed potatoes which were actually garlic mashed potatoes (the worst type of mashed potatoes to begin with). Again, kind of bland. What resulted in two stars was the service though. Our waiter dropped off our food never to be seen again. After waiting for my check for 15 minutes I finally asked the host (who was actually great). Only then did my check come. Overall, I really wanted this to be five stars so I could be a haunt for me, but unfortunately I'll only go back every now and then for the patio. read more
