We had a large group (16 ppl) visiting. They were very accommodating, very patient w the 8 kids (8-12 year olds) in our party. We loved the ambience, live music, good service. The food had a lot to be desired. My friend ordered a medium steak, it came out like blue-rare (basically still mooing). I ordered a fish, it didn't taste fresh. Overall, nothing tasted amazing. Probably my least favorite and the most expensive meal we had in park city & it was the place I was looking forward to most. we came here on Saturday night for my birthday dinner. My husband ordered the elk sirloin & loaded baked potato. He really enjoyed his meal. I ordered a full rack of ribs and fries. The fries were good, the ribs not so much. I thought they were supposed to be baby back but they seemed like spare ribs for the size and the cartilage in them. They also tasted old, like they had been cooked and just reheated. Was disappointing especially for $60. Service was ok. Not bad but not great either. They also charged for soda water in a cocktail. I wouldn't recommend or return. Elk steak was excellent and well priced. Service was prompt. There was a large group next to us that got prompt service too. You'd better be hungry because these are large servings. If you are at Sheraton it's a short walk, but if you're by the base you need a car or $20 Uber. Run by the same group of restaurants that own the Market Street Grill in South Jordan and Cottonwood, which are known for their seafood. Grub is a steak house and is has a western style theme. The restaurant is very dark inside. Grub isn't located on Main or in downtown; rather it is located in the Prospector area yet offers no parking lot only street parking. This would be a 3-star review, however, they have really nice staff who are attentive and their food is good quality. Within our party we got Caesar salad, house salad, fresh rolls, Bison Tenderloin, New York Steak, cheesecake, bread pudding, and their flourless chocolate cake. We have been multiple times and the food is always good and consistent. I do wish they still had their salad bar, would be a big plus to have. We sat upstairs and were the only ones upstairs as they were getting ready for a big party. Our server did good considering we were his only table upstairs. I will say he had a great personality. Food poisoning To all my fellow Yelpers, bottom line, expensive lesson to get food poisoning! We treated our neighbors to a nice dinner only to go home , and after a couple hours woke up with severe food poisoning from the chicken served at this place. Unfortunately you would like to think, for $60 per plate the place would hire chefs that understand and practice proper food preparation. Add insult to injury, the waiter was extremely rude (Jessie) and our neighbors had to send their steak back. She ordered medium, but when they brought it out, it was completely bloody (rare). This used to be our favorite place to visit each year we visited Park City. Sadly, we've noticed the quality of the meat, service, and overall value have all declined. Each year over the past three or four, one of our meals was incorrect. Tonight was no exception. The NY strip Steaks were very fatty with two of our party needing to spit out or cut off about 1/3 of their steaks because of it. One of the filets was not cooked properly and tough. Let's do this a simple way and rate the food service and ambience using bullet points. Food: baked potatoes were all cool. Salads were lackluster - we all ordered Caesar salads and none came with croutons until we asked for croutons. Croutons should be a no-brainer unless someone asked them to be held. cheesecake tasted store-bought. I ordered an end piece of the prime rib since I always enjoy the spices that accompany that piece, but this was a little better than a piece of shoe leather. Old-fashioned was fantastic, vodka grapefruit is horrendous because of terrible grapefruit, wine was fine. Service: terrible! Waiter had too many tables, forgot every single request we made including new fork, additional sour cream and other basic server request. Ambience: one guy is sitting up on stage creating noise with no musical benefit. Prices were more reasonable than most restaurants in deer Valley or Park city but that is no excuse for our experience This is the third time I've been to this restaurant with years separating each visits. This was by far the worst so much so I will never return and I would not recommend it to anyone. I suggests hotels stop recommending them. read more

What a warm and inviting restaurant for dinner after a day of skiing in the cold wintry city! I came here with a friend after skiing all day at Park City resort and had a great time! We got lucky with parking and found a street parking closeby on a small street, maybe being on Sunday helped. We didn't find their parking lot but we were in a rush so didn't look too hard. The main entrance to the restaurant is quite unassuming and not on the street side, it is on the alley side. We arrived an hour late, due to severe traffic during the Sundance festival weekend, and trying to leave our resort at 5pm by car was certainly a mistake. Took an hour to drive 1.5 miles. I advise walking or leaving earlier to avoid traffic. After entering through the wrong entrance on the main street, we were greeted warmly by the hosts. They immediately led us to our table. After being seated for a mere few minutes, we were greeted by our waitress and she was so friendly, and was able to provide us with great recommendations. We started with a red wine, MacMurry, which she recommended and it was delicious, very smooth, not as strong of a flavor as some other reds, so it was quite nice. We started with 2 nicely toasted bread rolls, then went in for the french onion soup, which was flavored just right, not too salt, and the cheese was not overwhelming. It warmed up our palates for the Waygu steak which paired well with the wine. The steak was so tender and was actually perfectly medium rare, so you could really feel the texture and appreciate the characteristics of the meat. The we finished with an oreo pie and blueberry pie with whiskey marinade and a side of coffee, and that wrapped up a delicious meal. This restau seems like the perfect place for a relaxing and cozy dining experience after a day in the cold, and is great for omnivores and carnivores that enjoy alcohol and meat. But I think vegetarians, vegans, and pescatarians may not have as many good options. Definitely recommend making a reservation since it seems like quite the lively place to be for dinner. read more

Not the same as it used to be. Primer-Rib was cooked wrong and lots of fat. And expensive.

First thing to note, it says online that they close at 9pm, but their last reservation is at 9! You also have to have a reservation to go. This is a very odd restaurant. The actual building is very old and inside is run down, the decorations are corny, food is subpar, yet they charge 3x what they should because they're in Park City. Service was lacking. It's typical for a steakhouse to recommend wine pairings for your meal. We asked our server to recommend some red Italian wines that would pair well with steak. He recommended California wines (that were already marked as "chef's recommendations") and then some white wines, "in case we order fish". Disappointing because that clearly wasn't what we were looking for. Another server tried to take plates away of food that we were actively eating from, which was quite rude. We ended up choosing our own wine, which we quite enjoyed, but it's not a house wine or anything, so we could get that anywhere. The food was absolutely not up to the standard I expected it to be, given their prices. Every entree comes with 1 starter and 1 side, from a list of about 3-4 options each. The rolls and starters were fine, although the mushroom soup was supposed to have rice and it didn't. It was more like a bisque. I ordered the buffalo steak, which comes wrapped in bacon. I ordered it medium-rare and it came out rare. Very disappointing for a place that specializes in steak. My husband ordered a rare steak and he enjoyed it. The vegetable platter did come with a good amount of veggies, but it's way overpriced. It also randomly comes with marinara sauce? $17.50 for a plate of unseasoned steamed veggies seems like a lot. We ended up paying about $100 each person and left unsatisfied with our meal and our service. Skip this place and look elsewhere for a nice meal! read more

My hubby and I traveled to Park City, UT to get a taste of winter. We stayed at the Doubletree, and the front desk attendant (Mike) recommended that we try Grub Steak Restaurant. Upon entry, we noticed an old but spacious restaurant. They had a live singer as well. I checked in on Yelp and received a coupon for a free crab artichoke dip. Jaime came over to take our order. We ordered the dip, and it came out promptly. The dip was pretty good. It was creamy and had bread crumbs incorporated into it. It came with tortilla chips. Next, we were ready to order our entrees. I didn't want anything too heavy, so I ordered the Trout with a baked potato and a house salad with lemon vinaigrette dressing. My hubby ordered the lemon chicken breast with creamed spinach and mushroom soup. Once my entree came out I thought a mistake was made. My fish looked like something other than trout. Trout is usually beige in color once cooked; however, my fish was pink, meaty, and very big, and it came out on a cedar plank. It looked and tasted like something else. I was baffled and asked the waiter if they made a mistake. He said no, and that my fish was actually the trout. I really don't think it was trout, but I have no way to prove it. Anyway the fish was not that good, and I didn't finish it. My baked potato was delicious though. I got it either butter and bacon (real bacon). My house salad was really good too. The lemon vinaigrette really set it off. My hubby did not like his chicken. He said it tasted bland; however, the creamed spinach and mushroom soup were to die for. Finally, we received a coupon from the hotel for a free dessert. We decided on the sampler dessert. It came with bread pudding soaked in bourbon, mud pie, and creme brûlée. All three were absolutely amazing. Even though we didn't enjoy the meat, the sides, the service, and desserts were all fantastic; hence, the reason I rated it a 4. Grub is my group's favorite in Park City. Great steaks and exotics, great wine and awesome dessert. During Covid, we were able to get a reservation two weeks prior. Our group of 6 was seated upstairs. My group mainly ordered steaks and enjoyed them. I ordered the buffalo steak with a loaded baked potato. The steak was perfect, no problems whatsoever. The loaded baked potato has tons of bacon...I couldn't finish it. The creamed spinach is also very good. We had a bottle of Malbec ("A Lisa") with our dinner, the best wine of the trip. We didn't want to change the wine, so we ordered a second bottle. I do recall the wine was very good on our last visit to Grub. I admit, I clumsily tipped my wine glass over and broke it. The workers quickly removed the broken glass...and all other wine glasses at our table (sorry, guys). To top off the evening, a must try is the bread pudding. The High West whiskey sauce is incredible. Although we were seated upstairs, service was still very good. Wait staff was always there every few minutes. Walking into the restaurant, we had very low expectations reading the other recent Yelp reviews, but were pleasantly surprised at the service we received tonight. We had a reservation for two at 8:15 and were seated on time. Within five minutes, our waiter, David (who was the best), attended to us, and we placed our orders. From sitting down at our booth to receiving our bill, it was less than 50 minutes! The food came out very quickly. Grub Steak was our favorite for over 20 years when they had the best salad bar in Park City. They decided to discontinue the salad bar after the covid shutdown and raise the prices which would be fine if they had maintained the excellent meal experience they had before.
