Riverhorse on Main absolutely lived up to the hype. I had the steak and it was cooked perfectly. Everyone else at the table ordered the sea bass and couldn't stop talking about how good it was. The lobster bisque was incredible, and they pour it tableside, which is a fun touch. I'm still kicking myself for not ordering dessert because everything else was so good. The atmosphere was wonderful with great attention to detail, and as someone with celiac disease, I really appreciated that they took gluten-free precautions seriously. I cannot believe how amazing this meal was. I've had several fine dining experiences and I love that this place gives you that elevated experience but in a more casual setting and way. They treat you like royalty. Your water is never below a certain level and they clean your utensils and change out new plates every time. My friend and I ordered so many courses and the timing they came out and how each dish was explained was truly incredible. Most importantly my friend was gluten free and the chef was able to make so many changes without compromising on flavor or experience. Every dish was divine but my favorites were the salad (so simple but incredible marriage of flavors) and the seafood sampler! Being from California I was shocked to find such good quality seafood but it happened! The trio of wild game was delicious but the only gripe is that we ordered the meat medium and one piece came out well done. However our server Nicole fixed that right away and brought us out a whole new cooked piece. Again, service is exceptional and this meal was worth every penny. I'm not sure how to even begin but I'll start with saying, trust me. If you're from out of town, yes this place anything surrounding areas can be a bit pricey but we splurged today and it was so worth it. A beautiful setting with thoughtful servers. Nicole was so knowledgeable and friendly, popping in at just the right times to check on us. I felt the whole experience was thought out - meticulous. From plating to, setting, decor, and how long they wait between plates. I have a gluten allergy and the chef accommodated very easily. There was even gluten free bread served instead of focaccia. We had the seafood platter - it's SO fresh. It was considered for 4 people because there's 4 shrimp, 4 bites of lobster and halibut ceviche but my friend and I shared it amongst just us. There's cucumber served with the oyster - never thought that combo would work but i absolutely adored it. Oyster size was a bit small but still really fresh. The beef tartare.. i mean just look at the photo. Idk what else to say. The pear & burrata salad was so simple but the elements came out nicely. The crunch and freshness of the lettuce with the bits of crushed Marcona almonds... and pepper crushed on top.. Last but not least, a wonderful trio of meats: buffalo, elk and venison. If anything, I'd recommend going for the fresh seafood and fresh salad if you have problems choosing but really - you can't go wrong. At Riverhorse, Park City is wearing a sexy dress or sports coat but the ski boots are still on under the table. The tuna tartare had a fabulous spice I wasn't expecting so loved that to start. But that trout... pistachio-crusted, very pretty with rice and green beans. And yes, if you eat the green beans like French fries, suddenly you're a genius because they taste better. I'm a child. For our 25th Anniversary Dinner we decided on a PC classic Riverhorse on Main. What an amazing restaurant if you have never been. It's a large upstairs venue overlooking Main Street Park City and has been around for years. Our server Devon was so friendly, knowledgeable, informative and took great care of us while we were there. Great suggestions from the menu with background on menu items and was spot on. She suggested the Thai Cauliflower saying she could eat it everyday and she wasn't wrong, I wish there was more of it. 5/5 She mentioned the Halibut as a restaurant staple and the 7 oz filet, saying it was even better than the 10 oz bone in filet as the farm that raises this beef just does it right. And again she was spot on, I'm a big filet fan, have had a lot of them, this was absolutely one of the best! Truly melt in your mouth and so flavorful. My wife said it was the best steak she had ever had! And the sides were amazing too, bacon wrapped asparagus, au gratin potatoes that had a little crunch on top, not sure how, but amazing! 5/5 more if I could. And I had the Wild-game Trio again so yummy with three different items with a different pairings, 3oz buffalo filet in a port reduction, 3oz Elk with froie gras butter, 3oz venison with a fruity huckleberry finish. Truffle twice baked potatoes and asparagus. Everything was excellent. 5/5 Sunshine mocktail that was so good and smooth, don't laugh, mocktails can be smooth too, and passion fruit lemonade. 5/5 Left full, content and very pleased with our evening. Only downside was I requested a table near the live music but the musician packed up and left right when we got there at 8:15 for our reservation and the restaurant is quite loud. Also expect to pay for the experience. If you've made it this far one last tidbit at 10pm every night a siren goes off on Main Street and a similar signal has been going off for124 years since 1901. Best meal we had in Park City. Not knowing how popular the place was, I booked our reservation two weeks out and was only able to secure a 9pm spot. Being from the east coast and tired from skiing, we would not have enjoyed our meal so we cancelled. Read we could show up as a walk in and did, ending up in the bar, which was fine. Shared a pear salad, then had the bone in filet, and trout. Meals were excellent. Finished with the molten chocolate cake. No chance it was from restaurant depot. Fish, our server, was fun. Incredible Valentine's Day dinner. We started with the Buffalo Tartare, which was delicious. My boyfriend said he thought it was the best tartare he's had. For our entree, we split the Trio of Wild Game and Seared Scallop and Shrimp Scampi. The trio came with Buffalo, Venison and Elk - which was a fun switch from the typical meats we eat. Was able to get. 5:45 reservation on a Wednesday. Got checked in and they have a coat check which is a nice touch. We got seated, 2 of us, in probably the worst most awkwardly placed table. A two top crammed right between two pillars, right beside a 6 top and a 4 top right behind one of the pillars. The 4 top was at a weird angle so one of the people was basically right on top of us. Service started off a bit slow and we probably waited 10 mins before our server came over to get drink orders. Service did pick up and got better over the course of the evening. They also had live music. We ordered the classic sampler, which came with smoked salmon on a potato cake (and they didn't skimp on the salmon), goat cheese deep fried balls with jam (which were amazing) and a type of wonton. The sampler is definitely big enough for 4 people. We also got the buffalo tartare which came with bone marrow. For dinner we got the trio of game (which was very delicious) and the filet (cooked perfectly). I do like that the entrees come with some sides versus more traditional steakhouses. I've been visiting Park City for one week each year for the past six years, and this was the trip I finally had the opportunity to dine at Riverhorse. The dining room is elegant, the service polished and attentive, and the addition of live music lends a welcome sense of occasion. The food, while thoughtful in concept and refined in presentation, ultimately falls short of the standard suggested by the setting and the numerous awards hanging in the foyer. To begin, we ordered the seafood sampler (the ceviche, a bright and well-balanced 8/10), the tartare (the clear highlight of the evening, 10/10), and a bottle of 2022 Gehricke Zinfandel. For my entree, I had the scallop and shrimp scampi. The shrimp was markedly overcooked, the pasta lacked seasoning and depth, and the sauce had broken by the time it reached the table. The scallop itself was properly executed, but the first two bites can only take you so far. I take no pleasure in leaving a critical review, however, at this price point, and given the restaurant's reputation and the evident strength of the front-of-house, the kitchen's execution does a disservice to the overall experience. I will return next year in the hope of seeing the kitchen realize its evident potential, but for now, Riverhorse rests at a 2/5. read more

We had an 8 PM reservation but stopped in at 6 PM to see if we could be seated early. Our daughter was feeling sick and exhausted, so we needed to get her fed and home sooner than planned. Despite the restaurant being completely sold out--meaning they could have easily filled our 8 PM slot with a walk-in or someone from a waitlist--they refused to accommodate us or show any leniency. While I understand they have a clear cancellation policy, management has the discretion to waive fees in extenuating circumstances. They chose to strictly enforce a $200 cancellation fee instead of helping a family dealing with a sick child. It is incredibly frustrating to see a business prioritize a penalty fee over basic customer service and human empathy, especially when they wouldn't have lost a dime in revenue given how busy they were. read more

Two of us dined at Riverhorse on Main. The service and ambience were very good overall. The staff was attentive and professional, although they were a bit slow refilling our wine glasses. A couple of times I ended up refilling my own because I got tired of waiting. That said, the wine selection itself was excellent. The amuse-bouche was good, though slightly fishy. For appetizers, we had the foie gras, pierogies, and tempura cauliflower. All three were very good, but the foie gras was the clear standout. For the main course, we ordered the bone-in filet and the game meats. The filet was tender, cooked perfectly, and enjoyable overall, though a bit under-seasoned. Unfortunately, the game meats were disappointing. Both the buffalo and elk were very chewy, while the venison was somewhat more tender but still lacked seasoning. For dessert, we had the peach cheesecake. It was tasty, but felt a bit simple for a restaurant of this caliber. Overall, while we enjoyed parts of the experience, the meal felt somewhat overpriced for the quality delivered. We've loved this place in the past, but our recent visit (February 1st) missed the mark. Cocktails were great and our server Josephine was fantastic, but the food was wildly inconsistent -- some dishes were way too salty, others completely bland, and even the replacements weren't cooked right. The real low point was being charged for a full lobster tail when only a half was served. When we brought it up, the manager dismissed us and refused to correct the bill. This is now one of my favorite fine dining restaurants in Utah. All of the staff was so kind and helpful. Whenever we had a drink to fill or a plate to be taken away, whoever was walking by would attend to us. All-around great service. For the food, everything was amazing. They started us with an amuse-bouche (that I admittedly don't remember the specifics of) and bread with delicious butter (whipped rosemary butter I believe). What a great start. The next course we had was the pierogies for our appetizer. They were exquisite and full of flavor. The creme fraiche and parmesan crisps were a nice added touch. For my main, I had the 10oz bone in filet with the wasabi potato croquette, ginger blistered shishito peppers, and red miso mustard. Man, this is one of my favorite dishes I've ever had. The filet was cooked perfectly, so juicy, and so flavorful. However, the sides were just as good if not even more memorable. The croquette was so unique and had a crispy exterior and creamy potato interior; not to mention, the light wasabi flavor as well. The peppers were nice and spicy, adding variation to every bite. I loved it all. My wife got the Trio of Wild Game with the truffle twice baked potato and asparagus, and she also loved it. Her favorite was the venison, but the buffalo and elk (my favorite) were very good as well. The potato was one of the best potato dishes we've ever had. After our mains, our waitress came out with a complementary cake as we were celebrating our anniversary. It was an extremely welcomed touch. We also ordered the whiskey cake which was absolutely delicious. My wife loves desserts, and this was definitely one of the best things she's ever had. Finally, they brought out mignardises of dark chocolate ginger bark which was a great final touch. We also got drinks, and all were good. Their wine selection looked great, and they also have a full bar. Finally, the ambiance was also great. The feel was a little more casual than fine dining; honestly, it was a welcome respite to most other fine dining restaurants. Fancy without being stuffy. They also had a guy playing guitar and singing in the background which was a nice added touch. If my wife really needed to find something to criticize, she didn't really appreciate the lighting, and we wished the lighting was a little lower--a small detail to be sure. All that to say, we very much enjoyed our time. We don't eat at fine dining restaurants often, but the next time we do, we will definitely be considering coming back to Riverhorse. read more

The drinks are good, albeit on the pricey side. The small plates and shared appetizers, the soup and salads are as expected. But when it came to the main dishes-- first they ran out scallop and oysters, which was a big disappointment; then the risotto was undercooked, tuna was suspiciously sour and the shrimp were still translucent. But that's not even the biggest disappointment-- they did absolutely NOTHING when we sent our comments. No apology (except for our waiter who had nothing to do with the quality of the food ), no acknowledgment of any sort, and the restaurant pretended we were completely happy with our food. The usually incredible Buffalo Tartare w/bone marrow was terrible tonight- the marrow was completely toast, as dry as I've ever seen, not a sliver of gelatinous marrow (same for all 3 orders of it at the table). Have been to Riverhorse about a dozen times over the years and it's good but getting a little out of balance between experience and price/ value. Make sure you don't get seated in the overflow room - has no ambiance, no music, and feels like the kiddie room (there were literally kids on iPads when we were seated). Just takes away from the experience. Can't emphasize this enough. Usual go to is the halibut, a signature dish. It was good, but not exceptional. Honestly I'll try something different next time. My son said the steak was good but not as good as our usual steakhouse options (and more $$). Pierogies were tasty but tiny. Bartender was super nice while we were waiting for the table. Our favorite restaurant in Park City. So many local, unique dishes, and everything is exquisitely prepared. We came with our good friend, who also just happened to be in town, and between the 3 of us had the Pierogies w/ gruyere, creme fraiche, french onion, and sauteed on the side; very good. Then had the Buffalo tartare w/ egg yolk, capers, dijonnaise sauce, and served w/ herb baguettes and bone marrow on the side, and then green salad, which was simple, but SO good. For entrees, we split the 12-hour Buffalo Short Rib, served w/ a parmesan risotto, a blue cheese gremolata (loved it), Italian vegetables and crispy eggplant. And then, our always favorite, that is still on the menu since our first time here 6 years ago, the Mountain Trout in pistachio crust, black forbidden rice (soft and creamy, like a risotto), and green beans, with a tast pomegranate-fennel salsa on top. We brought a bottle of our favorite wine from our friend's winery back home, and it was a perfect complement, for a $25 corkage fee. We have eaten here 4 times and have always absolutely loved it, this time was mediocre. We are a family of 6 and had 2 trouts, 1 game trio, 1 tofu, 1 halibut, and a salmon. Both trouts came and were quite flavorless. After asking for salt and mentioning a lack of flavor of the trout dish, the server realized the chefs forgot the sauce. I was halfway through my fish at this point. The halibut was slightly overcooked and the fish needed a crunch. The tofu was good however, single-note. We hoped there would be a drink comped for the trout issue, however that was not the case. On a positive note, the lobster bisque, pear and burrata salad, tartar, and cauliflower were delicious and our server was very attentive. $750 later, we left bummed that one of our favorite restraunts missed the mark. read more
