I got married in October 2021 at a location that had the Events Boutique as the only option for a wedding planner. We wanted a shorter engagement - 7 months - so things were pretty crazy throughout it. I have held off writing until now because I didn't want to rant in anger, rather I want to share the weaknesses of this organization. We were assigned Christina who gave the illusion of having everything together on all the phone calls. She was upbeat, encouraging, and reassuring. However, she did not come through when we really needed her. The first major issue was her absence at our rehearsal dinner, which she then promised to send an assistant to walk us through the plan. No assistant ever showed up. My family and I tried to walk through it as best we could, but we have never done this before! We focused on the ceremony order, and on the wedding, the ceremony went very smoothly. However, we didn't walk through the reception, and that was where things really began to fall apart. Our entire wedding was outdoors, and the tables had floating candles. Throughout the reception, Christina was running to table to relight candles instead of managing the 3 additional staff we had been advised to hire (who were NOT proactive and stood around unless told to do something). I found out after the wedding that not all the tables got food because some tables got seconds before others had gotten any. This is poor management! I was horribly embarrassed and felt for my guests when I heard some of them went without food. The final issue I realized mid-way through the reception was that Christina had an older version of the schedule - I had updated it one last time and the DJ had the most recent version. Because of this, Christina did not direct people to begin getting food at 6:30pm (when I paid the caterers to begin serving), but waited until 7pm. I asked my guests after the wedding and they said there was a weird delay after the ceremony, and I was angry. This delay caused us to only have dancing/party time for 45 minutes, which my husband was sorely disappointed about. Overall, I was aghast with the lack of organization and management skills that Christina displayed. It is hard not to blame her for ruining our wedding. If I could do it over again, I would not hire her, or possibly any coordinator, because I could have done it better myself. read more

I found The Events Boutique on WW. I will be the first to admit I've been married before and so, thought I could do all the wedding planning myself. However, with an out-of-town wedding, I really wanted someone who could take the stress off me as well as really know their stuff, all without having the time to fly out there to meet them before signing a contract (tall order, I know). On top of that, a wedding planner becomes your best friend (a best friend in under a year?!) so, it was difficult for me to find someone I thought would fit that description until I happened to stumble upon The Events Boutique. Christina was only supposed to be my "month-of" planner, but I found myself going to her for tips and advice months before the wedding and she readily responded helpfully, kindly & creatively, something most people wouldn't do. I finally had to relent and asked The Events Boutique to do my floral arrangements as well. The month before was a breeze. I got few questions from Christina and even fewer from my vendors (she was that good); I would only hear snippets from vendors like "so excited for your wedding and btw, Christina is so sweet!" or "I already talked to Christina but just wanted to let you know I'm excited!" Day of: My flowers came out exactly what I expected, if not more spectacular; my bouquet was so gorgeous and big that it was tiring carrying it around. We hired Christina at Events Boutique to plan our September wedding at Saddlerock Ranch and are so so glad that we did. We were planning our (250-person, outdoor, Indian) wedding from across the country, so it was a huge logistical lift. We absolutely couldn't have done it without her. She knows a ton of vendors in the LA area that she connected us with, and all of her the people she recommended were amazing. And I don't just mean catering and florals.... when we asked her if it would be possible to have churros at our rehearsal dinner, she immediately responded, "Of course, I'll call my churro guy!" He made fresh, amazing churros and ended up being the hit of the night. But she also never pressured us to use the folks she knew, and was happy to work with new vendors as well -- even when they stopped answered her calls and emails and she had to drive in person across LA multiple times to get contracts signed! She's amazing at dealing with problems. Since we were getting married in LA in September, we had no rain plan -- and when the forecast suddenly predicted rain three days before our wedding, she managed to get us a tent and plan an entirely new layout for our venue in a matter of days without breaking a sweat. And just as importantly, she does it all with a smile on her face. She's so laid back, cheerful and funny -- truly the person you want on the other end of the phone line when you're feeling overwhelmed with wedding planning anxiety. Will NOT recommend The Events Boutique to any of my family or friends. We hired Christina for "day of coordinator" for our 70 person wedding at Shutters on the Beach. I have held off from posting this review in hopes she would have some consideration and reach out to me regarding my deposit but SHE HAS NOT and just kept my money!!! I'm not going to feel bad for posting this during the pandemic because she has blamed me for canceling my wedding and feels entitled to keep my deposit. This is NOT the type of person you want in charge of such an important day in your life!! Especially after you pay so much for your wedding day!! My wedding was cancelled due to covid (Shutters is closed through June) and when we found out (in March, 2 months before my actual wedding) I immediately contacted Christina to inform her the venue canceled our wedding and that I wanted to discuss my deposit because my fiancé and I do not have a postponed date due to the uncertainty of the virus and government mandated restrictions on large events. Her response was "it is non refundable and none of her other couples were asking about their deposit so she didn't know why I was and that I can use that deposit towards my future wedding date." After many weeks of negotiating with her, she only agreed to give me half of my deposit back because she claims to have spent some of my deposit on the 2 assistants she hired for my 70 person wedding that never happened! I asked her to show me proof of money spent on my wedding to date and she completely ignored my requests, multiple times. She only agreed to give me half of my deposit only after I sign her gag order. I told her I felt uncomfortable signing her document and she informed me that was the only way I could receive my partial refund! I feel it's extremely unfair that she's holding my deposit hostage and refuses to give me proof of money spent on my wedding. Christina says I cancelled my wedding, even though the venue did because it would be closed due to the pandemic and because I won't choose a future date, She does not need to give me back my deposit. I did not have anything to do with the Covid virus and because I cannot pick a future date for our wedding, she is refusing to give me my deposit back. All I was looking for was some kind of compassion from her but instead I was treated like I canceled my wedding so I don't deserve my money back...I had nothing to do with the venue being closed due to the pandemic...Why would I ever hire her to coordinate my wedding after she handled the situation like this?!? read more

Initially, i interviewed her and 2 other wedding planners for a partial planning package and decided to use the least expensive one - BIG mistake! I learned you really get what you pay for with wedding planning and that experience is everything! I finally had to let my first planner go and got on board with Christina in February which was the best decision i made in my wedding planning process! I immediately felt at ease with Christina and knew she was going to help my wedding vision come alive. By the time I had confirmed her, I had booked nearly all my vendors so unfortunately missed out on taking advantage of her deep network of vendors. So, if you are thinking of booking The Events Boutique, I recommend confirming early in the process so you can maximize all the perks of a well connected planner! Christina knows someone for everything and although I didn't book any additional vendors, she knew exactly who could get the job done for anything I wanted - even hand painted programs I showed her from an article in a wedding magazine! How amazing is she! Even though I booked her for the "month of," she was available via phone, text and email for my many questions and was a great resource! Invaluable actually. You can read as much as you want in books (I certainly did!), but to have a great planner at your fingertips for advice is priceless! My only regret is not booking Christina early! We met for an initial planning session so we could review my vision and Pinterest pages about 2 months out. She also came with me to my final florist meeting and my final venue walk through which was very helpful and made me feel extra confident in all my planning decisions. As an experienced planner, she has great organizational skills and worked meticulously on the wedding day timeline with me. I had some curveballs and she handled them so well. I knew that if anything were to go wrong on the wedding day, that Christina would take care of it effortlessly and that's the feeling you want to have on your wedding day!!! That allowed me to focus (and worry!) about my first dance and personal vows instead of the coordination details. I felt so calm on my wedding day, even with a screaming flower girl and a sick and crying ring bearer. We went into our wedding day unsure of how beneficial a day-of wedding planner would actually be (we were very involved and hands-on with our wedding) but when the day came we realized how necessary and how helpful Cory and Taneel really were. They were ALWAYS 3 steps ahead of us, completely on top of everything, so patient and understanding when we had a hiccup with our venue... 48 HOURS BEFORE OUR WEDDING!!!! We chose The Events Boutique after seeing Christina on a panel during a wedding event. We liked her personality and felt like we could be comfortable with choosing her services for Day Of Coordinator for our wedding day. She informed us 2 of her staff would lead and assist on our wedding day but less than 2 months before our wedding day, Christina lead and Allison assisted on our big day. We were very happy with both of them! The design and color for our wedding cake was wrong and Christina managed to save it by using the ribbon and flowers from my moh's bouquet before pictures were taken for the caking cutting. She also informed us of any vendors who didn't do a good job and let us know she either didn't give tip or gave a low tip. We really appreciated her honesty. We also liked how she and Allison always attended to us. The photobooth attendant was ill and she let us know she told him to leave an hour early but made sure we took some pictures before he torn the photobooth down. My daughter and I chose The Events Boutique/Christina and her crew to help us plan her wedding after a phone interview. We were sold after reading reviews and having a great conversation where we explained our wants and needs and Christina listened, then explained her abilities to meet our expectations. My husband and I were extremely lucky to find Christina and The Events Boutique via reviews on Yelp/Wedding Wire, so I wanted to pay it forward and write about my wonderful experience in working with Christina and The Events Boutique in hopes that you, too, will choose to work with her and her team! I wanted to plan my Los Angeles wedding from out of state, during my fourth year of medical school, while applying for my residency and moving almost every month for rotations at different hospitals. It was an incredibly busy and stressful time, and there is no way our wedding could have come together without Christina. In interviewing various wedding planners, Christina immediately stood out in that she felt like a friend, and I felt that I could trust her. For a bride planning your big day, this is so important. The Events Boutique was by far our favorite vendor for our wedding in Costa Mesa back in September 2019! From the very beginning when we first met at the venue walk through, we immediately felt comfortable with Christina's personality and knowledge. She listened to all of our requests and provided very useful recommendations. For example, one recommendation she offered us was to have my husband and I eat dinner in the bridal suite right before our grand entrance. My name is Amy and my husband Jonathan and I hired the Events Boutique for our day of coordination for our 9/20/14 wedding at the Crowne Plaza in Redondo Beach. We were working on a pretty tight budget for our wedding so we decided to hire Cristina for the day of coordination as opposed to full planning. Cristina went above and beyond our expectations. She was always a phone call or an email away and was very timely in getting back to us. She eased all my doubts about planning and offered exceptional advice when it came to having problematic family members. We met with her just a couple times before the wedding and from there she made our jobs very easy. She coordinated all our vendors and made our timeline for the day with our DJ. Cristina also made herself available by phone or email to my mother who lives in Indiana. The morning of the wedding, Cristina was right on time with a great team alongside. Without any direction whatsoever, her team assembled all of our DIY decorations in such a beautiful way. I was almost worried that I never explained where I wanted things, but when I saw the placement, she did a better job than what I had originally envisioned. TRUST the professional. Cristina and her team did excellent throughout the day and once the wedding started, they were right by my side with anything I needed, water, compliments on my look, and even some jokes to calm my nerves. I really felt like Cristina had my back with every step I took towards the aisle. The ceremony went off without a hitch! Her team really went the extra mile when at the last minute, a family member was not available to take my dog (the ring bearer) to the pet hotel for the night, and Cristina sent one of her own to take care of it. Thank God she did. I am forever grateful because that was definitely not her job but she took responsibility with barely being asked. We had an assistant with us and the bridal party when we took to the beach for pictures while Cristina stayed at the venue to set the reception. Everything was beautiful and everything went on schedule without a hitch! One of the things I remember most, was during dinner, I was so overheated and nauseous, most likely the come down of high anxiety and extreme adrenaline, and I went to the bathroom to calm down. As I sat there with my gown half undone standing over a sink feeling like I was going to pass out, in comes Cristina with the holy grail. ICE PACKS. She saved my life by shoving some down my dress and giving me water. I started to feel better after the ice. The ice packs alone were worth every penny. The rest of the evening was fantastic and beautiful. Even at the end of the night Cristina and her teamed hauled up all the florals to our suite so we could keep them and they helped break down the venue within an hour flat. The Events Boutique was so amazing and I have no bad review whatsoever. She even helped us communicate with other vendors on any problems we had after the fact. She has kept in contact to make sure we were taken care of with any of them. I am so impressed with her work and professionalism. It was like working with Jennifer Lopez in the wedding planner.
