We called for RV pump service. We understood when it could not be completed on Friday when we called. We were willing to pay extra (although they couldn't tell us price) to have pumped on Saturday. Would not give us an appointment but did tell us driver would call before coming to our location. No call, no show , no call back when I left message on Saturday or the 2 calls on Monday. Steve is great! The first time we called him, we had an emergency back up after hours and even though Steve was on his way home for the day, he came back and took care of us. He even installed new filters and caps to make our septic system function better. We had an emergency situation again 3 months later, and even though it turned out to be a plumbing issue rather than septic, Steve and his wife helped us troubleshoot over the phone while they were on vacation. Worst business experience of my real estate career. I recently tired to hire Steve's High Country Sanitation to do a septic inspection on a home sale I had in Stoneman Lake, AZ. To my surprise, the company went to the property the first day I inquired to find the septic tank and start the inspection. I was notified that they would pull the septic record from Coconino county, but they didn't wait for results and sent a tech out right away even though they had no idea where it was on the lot. I received a phone call from the tech a few hours later. The tech said he was out there and "thinks he knows where the tank is". He had dug several holes, but needed to come back the next day with some rented equipment to dig in the rocky soil. I said it would be ok to continue if the bill wouldn't likely to be much more than $1200. Before I continue, I would like you to know a typical septic inspection in the area is about $600-$700, but since Stoneman Lake is an isolated area with rocky soil $1200 is more likely. I received a quote back from the company owner of $2400 just to do the inspection, and any fixes required would cost extra. So I fired them and told them not to come back. The next day I receive a $580 invoice from the company. This included their $120 trip charge to drive out there (they are coming from Flagstaff, what the hell?), $50 record pull fee from the county (the county did not return any record so this should have been removed from the invoice), labor, and other outrageous miscellaneous costs . When I talked to the company owner she was hostile. When I hired a second company to do the inspection, they realized the place where Steve's High country septic had identified the tank was on the opposite side of the lot from where the tank was actually located. Their septic inspection cost $1300, as opposed to Steve's quote of $2400. In addition , the new company found the pipe had been broken and charged my client $3000 to fix. The charge to fix the broken pipe was reasonable, but I believe the pipe was not broken until Steve's High Country went out there and started digging random holes . I believes Steve's High Country Sanitation should not only refund the $598 they extorted from my client, but they should also be responsible for the $3000 on the pipe the broke while randomly digging holes to find the tank. If you have the opportunity to work with this company , I advise you to run, not walk, and get away from this flaky company as quickly as you can. Like Comment Share read more

Zero Stars would be more appropriate. Absolutely terrible communication. First time to pump out was fine. Second time was difficult to set up due to poor communication and then the person was not very knowledgeable and did not fully empty tanks. Called same day to have them come back out. It has been 2 1/2 weeks. We have left multiple voice and text messages. They have not responded. read more

I called with some questions about our septic tank, which they had inspected prior to us buying the house, and the woman who answered was rude and completely unhelpful. She said her husband would come out to take a look at it and (surprise!) that never happened. To call the experience horrible would be a compliment. read more

Wish I could give them 6 stars. Chris and Everett came to my house on time and prepared. I wasn't able to give them much information on where the tank was, so they dug until they found them. I had thought we only had one tank, but Chris was sure there was a second and even though he was hot and it was Monday, he kept digging until he found it. Excellent service, done quickly and all my zillion questions were answered. I highly recommend them. read more

Middle of winter and the septic system goes kaput.. of course. Steve came out that day and fixed it when I thought it was a gonner. 22 years old and not well maintained. They were professional and knew exactly what they were doing. Very pleased with their expertise, business knowledge and professional manners. Their charges were very reasonable too. Will use them for regular maintenance. Family owned and operated been in Flagstaff forever. Used to be Sandoval Sanitation, same folks, new name. read more

Routinely did not fulfill their service commitments, even after repeated calls to the company-- they claimed that the portable toilet was "too hard to access", even though the toilet was exactly where they put it. Toilet was full of worms at one point, and still, still waited for service. Really?! Really. Then, got a bill SEVEN MONTHS after discontinuation of service. My impression is that Steve's High Country Sanitation is not run professionally or efficiently. Go with a more established company for your portable toilet needs. Yelp does not allow for less than one stars, but this company has not even earned one star, in my experience. read more
