Steve is the best! We had a Gallery Grand Opening Gala, and he was such an asset. the customers loved him, the gallery members loved him. He is extremely talented with his up-close magic. Even when I thought I had a pretty good idea of how the trick was done, I could never see it happen. And the outcomes were even more unexpected than I have seen before. What a treat for my son's 6th birthday! Steve "Mr Horsefeathers" Koehler was the highlight of our party. He performed a 45 minute set that had the kids laughing the whole time! My son got to be his assistant for a part of the performance and he literally fell over from laughing so hard. Steve's performance is approximately 50% comedy, 25% juggling, and 25% magic - which blended together nicely to 100% fun for this 3-7 year old age group. Oh, and he balloon animals for about an hour after the show! As a parent, I appreciated Steve's insights on how to plan for the performance and what to expect before, during, and after the show. We hired Steven Koehler (Steve the Magic Guy) for my daughter's ninth birthday party held at our house. Steve was amazing in every way! He was totally professional leading up to the event, re-confirmed with me a few days before the party and then arrived on time and was totally self sufficient setting up (as I had my hands full with 15 9 year old girls!). His routine is hilarious!!! It is equal parts comedy and magic! All of the kids LOVED, LOVED, LOVED him and my husband and I were thoroughly entertained as well! At the end, he made balloon animals for all of the kids and even played guitar and sang happy birthday to my daughter when we served cake. Steve performed at my son's 3-year birthday party at our house this past weekend. I found him here on Yelp and I'm so glad I did! He arrived early to set up for his show and was totally flexible to start late because half of our guests had not yet arrived. We had about 15 kids total, ranging in ages from 2-10, and he had them all in stiches the entire time. His slapstick, interactive humor had them all entranced for the entire 45-minute show. We first met/ saw Steve in our local farmers market on Sundays. He was funny and our 3 year old loves seeing him. (and to get a twisted balloon!). So, for our other son's birthday party, we had Steve over in our house. We had 15-20 kids and they were all blown away by his show! Fantastic!!! We hired Steve, aka Mr. Horsefeathers, for my son's 5th birthday party. We had about 30 children from 2 to 9 years old watching his show. All of the kids were absolutely enthralled for the entire show, and were laughing nearly constantly. Steve has really perfected his routine for this age group and is so good at knowing how to read and engage the kids and also gently and humorously keep them from getting too wild. He did a great job of getting our son involved in the performance as the birthday boy and made an effort to make him feel honored. After the show we all went to have the birthday cake and Steve led our group in the birthday song with guitar-playing. He then spent the next probably about 45 minutes making balloons (animals and various other shapes) for the kids, which they loved! Steve is great with both the kids and the parents. He was extremely professional - he was very responsive via text/phone while we were making the arrangements pre-party, arrived on time, and was flexible and very easy to work with. We first saw Steve 2 years ago at a friend's party and loved his performance! The next year, at the same friend's party, all the kids were asking if he was coming again - what is remarkable since kids forget everything. But not about Mr. Horsefeathers! We had Steve in our son's 6th birthday, and again, it was memorable. His exaggerated and clumsy acts are super funny for the kids and every now and then he throws in a subtle adult joke. It is fun for everyone! Humor and entertainment guaranteed! After his performance he makes balloons for the kids and he is very good interacting and chatting with them. For my dad's 97th birthday celebration, at Café Pro Bono in Palo Alto, I engaged Steve to make a surprise appearance at the moment of the entrées being cleared, to entertain with magic-tricks and song and good wishes. Going above and beyond the call of duty, Steve brainstormed with me in advance about the "Italian waiter" character he would create, arrived early to enlist a whole "conspiracy" among the helpful Pro Bono staff, added personalized touches that my father would be sure to love, and devised a witty "intro" to the show His card tricks are delightful; his manner was polished and professional; his guitar-playing and singing were great--and I believe my father will remember the occasion with deep and special pleasure. I highly recommend Steve who we had for my six year old daughter's birthday party. The kids were absolutely doubled over in laughter and completely captivated for his entire performance with his slapstick comedy. Steve entertained 18 kids and 20 grown ups at our 6-year olds daughter's party this weekend. We held it in a park and that setting was good for his show-- we even had others in the park gather around. Steve was fun to work with and had the kids in stitches throughout his show. They were laughing and engaged throughout the 1 hour show-- the humor is definitely at a kid level but that works for the audience. My only recommendation is that you tailor the length of your show for what works for you. It felt long to me, but in the end I was delighted that he did keep kids engaged that whole hour! Maybe I was just too eager to get to the cake. I recommend him for a fun, kid-oriented entertainment. As birthday girl, my daughter was the star of the show for a portion which was great. My daughter says "I liked it, especially when he fell a lot of the time." Great fun! read more

Big recommendation for Steve, who came over to "keep the kids busy" at an adult birthday party that happened to have 45 little kids as guests as well. He had all the kids (ranging from 5 to 9) in stitches and many of the adults actually hung out and watched the show as well and had a great time. We attended one of Steve's shows at an event at Cubberly Community Center. He was very professional before and during the event, and was excellent at keeping the attention of all of the young kids in the room!
