I really don't understand the shade it's getting from other reviews... Great place!

This is the most poorly-managed and maintained golf course I've played in the last 3 decades. Even…read morethe Par-3 course in the outskirts of Baghdad, next to a minefield, was in better condition. Specifics: 1. Our tournament group organizer had booked tee times for 20 players, 36 holes, 6 months ago, and re-confirmed the booking a number of times, including a couple of days ago. When we arrived this morning, the golf shop informed us that the tee times had been deleted somehow, and the tee sheet was full. While an assistant was able to work us into the morning rotation by jamming us in between other groups, when we finished the first round, we were informed by the manager that we weren't teeing off for the second round until after 4 PM, two hours later. Because the manager didn't want to inconvenience the players that they had booked in our place. 2. The course conditions were akin to a cow pasture, with massive muddy areas in the fairways on every hole. To be fair, the greens were in pretty good shape, but getting to those greens was an unpleasant experience. I lost several balls which were hit in the middle of the fairway, but had disappeared into the mud-pits. Bunkers were hard as concrete for the most part. There were a couple of bright spots: Marshal "Rob" provided some excellent assistance in getting my golf cart back in operation. Starter "Dick" handled the Charlie Foxtrot created by the golf shop with skill and humor. And the young woman who worked in the snack stand was competent and pleasant. Bottom Line: This was my first, and definitely my last time playing this golf course. As someone who has worked at a municipal golf course for the past ten years, and played courses all over the state, plus the UK and Ireland, I know what a well-managed and maintained muni looks like. Willows Run isn't one of those.

I realized golf and I were going to go one of two ways. Either I was going to actually try to learn the game or I was going to quit. My husband had been to Gregg Roger's and suggested I give it a shot. I committed to 1x a week lessons with James and my game improved instantly. We've been grinding on swing fundamentals for 8 months, and I now have a very legit swing! This Spring I've been back out on the course several times and I finally get how golf is FUN! I'm still a high-handicap, high-scorer beginner golfer, but now I LOVE it. I'm super motivated to keep getting better and I enjoy the process. James is an amazing coach, he keeps it fun, he keeps me learning, he keeps me motivated and I have so much gratitude to him for making golf fun!

I've been invited to a couple of national events. I qualified and played in a U.S amateur at the age of 45. That said, I don't consider myself an elite amateur player by any stretch .I can honestly say that Greg Rogers is easily quite possibly one of the best teachers in the country. His knowledge of how the body works is unsurpassed. A lot of my friends are PGA pros and whenever I've asked them for help with my swing they tell me the same things I've heard before. Stuff that I've heard since I was a beginner. But every time I took a lesson from Greg, I walked out of their hearing and learning something I never heard before. He definitely has my vote for top rated instructor in the world
