I gave a courtesy call to let them know I would be less than 5 min late to my appt due to having an emergency at work, receptionist/front desk was silent on the phone, I said "hello?", her response was, " ...yes, I'm here.." then proceeded to say it was fine. When I checked in, I'm assume the same lady on the phone didn't acknowledge me after chatting with her coworker, just seemed to have a chip on her shoulder, and told me to sign in then have a seat. She didn't bother mention it was going to be a 20+ min wait, it seemed completely dead at the office (just one other patient was there. It was just not a good experience. Back office employees were great! Also, wanted to mention how pushy they are -- they call/text/email me at least twice a week. And it's just too much for me. Prices are also a bit high, even with a reference. My best friend had her lasik done by the same surgeon in La Jolla and was quoted $600 cheaper. Will consider other options before going back.

I usually take my prescription elsewhere to be filled. I had a bad experience with them a couple years ago. But this year I decided to give them another chance and again was disappointed. I had requested a tint on my glasses and when I went to pick them up there was no tint. I was told I could leave them, and they would return them to be tinted. I would have to make another trip to pick them up. For the second time they were unable to get it right. I don't usually take the time to write a bad review... but when I told the tech never mine, I will just take the glasses. When I came to him I was 20/400 (legally blind) and he got me into surgery in less than a month. It's been a month now post-operation and I can see 20/15 and only use reading glasses for small text articles on my phone. In addition to the actual results of the exam, the quality of care and customer service is top notch and all of the front and back office staff are very helpful. I asked him a simple question, important for me, but he just ignored me and left to deal with another patient. His assistant didn't even want to listen to this question and rudely stated that she has to help the doctor (although before that she chatted in the hallway with a nurses). The nurses there are very good and attentive to patients. The doctor lied that they have no machine for measuring visual acuity (with the balloon) in the clinic, although they do have it! A nurse passed by and saw how rude this doctor and his assistant treated me, she pitied me and measured my visual acuity (1 minute, the doctor and his assistant didn't wan't spend even a minute+ on me! Although both times I had to wait the doctor in the lobby for 2 hours after the appointed time)

Unfortunately this time I had to get a Diabetic eye exam which I've never even heard of or knew that exam even existed! Fortunately the wait wasn't long and all of the staff at Pacific Eye Instatute were all very nice and professional. I wished the doctor had explained to me a little bit better about what was going on with my eyes because I feel like there is more going on than meets the eye! Lol .. No pun intended! I understand that I have been diagnosed with dry eyes but that doesn't explain the massive floaters that I have now. I mean ever since being diagnosed with Diabetes I have had these floaters just get worse! I'm really concerned as it's blocking my view at times. I was told to pick up some eye drops for dry eyes then he said that he would like to do more test! I'm thankful that he is looking more into what's going on because this is a very uncomfortable & painful experience and it's scary too! He also talked about doing some implants to create more natural tears. I'm going to try the eye drops first and hope that , that will help and then maybe I won't have any more issues.
