I have been coming to Inland Eye Associates since 2021. There is plenty of parking and they are right across from Rancho Springs. They have plenty of seats. Front desk is OK. The only problem is they don't remind you when your yearly check up is due. Everyone in the back like the assistant were efficient and friendly. They communicate well. You get mediocre eye care, they constantly overbook to the point patients end up having to wait in the waiting room easily over an hour. Office experience has never been friendly, pleasant or helpful. My experiences twice is that I had booked my appointments months in advance and twice I was informed no appointments on record or for a complete different appointment time. No disregard to patients time. First time I had a scheduled appointment for the Murietta office only to be informed that there was no appointment scheduled even though I immediately showed the girl at the front desk my confirmed email that I confirmed through their system the day prior asking for my confirmation. That didn't matter the front desk girl responded very rudely oh our systems were down.. I stated okay here is my confirmation from your office if my appointment. I was told No I wasn't in the system and no appointment was scheduled for me. Long story short I immediately lodged a complaint with the office manager at the Murietta office after explaining my experience she made it right and scheduled me for the very next morning. Now the same thing happened to me again only at the Temecula office. I had a confirmed scheduled appointment for today at 1:00p. As I get there the young girl stated that my appointment wasn't till 3:00p I informed her that I confirmed yesterday my 1:00p appointment through their email requesting I confirm my 1:00p appointment. No regards to my time she flat out denied that I confirmed yesterday and offered nothing to make it right or make it right. Naturally high left and immediately called and requested speak to the front office supervisor only for her to apologize but stated that my appointment was scheduled a week ago, which is another concern because I had scheduled my appointment months ago so CLEARY they are running a whack a doodle, office. The manager did state that they have been having glitches in the system, I informed her these are huge, bad glitches.. IT'S NO WONDER THEY HAVE LOW RATINGS. The staff in the back are lovely, sadly the first and last people you see are in the front, whom are unapproachable and aggressive. I noticed a few negative reviews here that I found confusing until I read them. These were from people who never made an appointment or had ridiculous complaints, like the lady who was refunded $1,000 without requesting it. She asked and paid for a lense she didn't need, the Dr. informed her and set up a refund and the big tragedy was that she "felt" the Dr. was telling her she was wrong, which she obviously was, and the refund didn't happen immediately. Really? How often does a refund occur like that?? I would have handed her a rusty butter knife and told her to do the procedure herself. Entitled with zero gratitude. Send me the $1,000 lady... I'll tell you you were right. I was lucky enough to find Inland Eye Specialists on my list of providers. This practice is professional and has an extremely comfortable, classy waiting room instead of a box with chairs. The staff provides an incredible amount of welcoming service and they are the most efficient team I have ever encountered in my 59 years of seeing doctors. On my first visit, I was greeted immediately and I was called five minutes after turning in my paperwork. On my second visit, I wrote down my name and the time and was in an exam room within 5 minutes with an awesome nurse who was happy to explain the purpose of every test I took. Both times, the Dr. showed up right after testing for a couple more tests, then interpreted all of the tests so I knew exactly where I stood. We wrapped up ordering my new glasses and I walked out 30 minutes after I walked in. If it was longer than that, I couldn't tell. I'm constantly disappointed by businesses and their lack of service and appreciation since we struggled through COVID. Many slacked off and never recovered. I can easily recommend Inland Eye Specialists to anybody looking through blurry eyes for an opthamologist / optometrist who cares about patients and appreciates their business. Terrible experience. I have been a member of the Temecula Murrieta community for the last 20 years. I am a firefighter paramedic in town. I went to an appointment. Got my prescription. Found their prices to be astronomical. Decided to tape my prescription somewhere else without my knowledge Inland eye specialist made me a follow up appointment for the following year. I kept messaging them that I was not interested and I did not make this appointment. After getting harassed with text messages saying I was not going to be at my appointment, I called them and they said that I was in my appointment currently. I believe this to be some sort of insurance fraud. I would never recommend this facility! They later called me back and told me that I missed my appointment after I confirmed with them that I had not been in that made up appointment. A few weeks later I get a $35 bill in the mail saying that you missed an appointment. This is a terrible business practice. I never made the appointment in the first place and then to have the balls to charge me $35 for a missed appointment Only after I confirmed with them so they could not charge my insurance for this made up appointment. Very shady business practices I would never recommend this facility and I will tell all the firefighters at my work to never go to this place.. read more

I have been coming here since I was 8 and I came in recently to get my contact prescription. It was during my lunch hour. The lady told me to sign my name in the sign up list and she would assist me after her other clients. After she was done with her clients, she then proceeds to help someone who came in after me and didn't sign in. I was in a time crunch and assumed since one other client was before me, I'd be able to get my prescription easily. Around 10 minutes later I was helped by another employee and it took less than 2 minutes to get my prescription. This is the first time I've ever experienced this... I've never had any issues with this office in the past and would recommend it to my friends and family, this experience was quite disappointing. read more

First, you go see an Inland Eye Specialist eye doctor. He tells you your cataracts need surgery. You've heard a few years so you the Inland Eye Specialist that do cataract surgery. They do surgery on one eye and they have to wait a couple of weeks because the pressure is too high before they do the next one. They do the next one and it's much better than the first one not perfect but better. During your follow up appointment for the second eye surgery you once again that your not very good and your second eye is far from perfect. They get you an appointment with specialist" I don't know what that is, but that comes up almost a month later. It seems as though the however, have washed their hands of you. I thought, after offering a less than positive view of the first surgery that they would make some move to correcting the problem, but no. read more

Office staff are not welcoming or very friendly. Very monotone welcome each visit.Some staff do not arrive on time as hours that state open. Arrive after 8:00 then set up then take care of customers. No cool or professional IMO Specially if the customer/patient is on a tight schedule. If the hours say 8:00 a.m. then when I walk in at 8:00 a.m. I should not be waiting 5-10 minutes while staff is preparing to greet me and get services. Just saying... I have been seeing Dr. Chen for my AMD injections for 1 1/2 years, and everything from the diagnosis through the ongoing treatments has been great. I dodged a bullet here! I received the information for this provider from my Medi-cal insurance and they said all I would need is my state ID card and member number. I was not greeted professionally by the receptionist and she was so unhelpful and rude. I could not even get an appointment. Not workable or helpful whatsoever. I ended up hanging up and finding another provider nearby who was able to find out my coverage in less than a minute with the member info. I don't think I've had a better experience anywhere else. The nurse was very informative, displayed confidence and care. The doc and nurse were very thorough with the whole process. I felt I got the info and treatment plan I was looking for and was even given a good tip by the nurse on some eye drops that came in super clutch!!!!!! read more

My mom came in today to be evaluated for cataract surgery. She has been overly excited about getting this going because her eye site is getting worse. The customer care she received here was awful. She had testing done, her eyes dilated and NOTHING was explained. The guy that measured her eyes was extremely rude to her. The visit with the doctor was okay. She was told to wait in lobby for the surgery scheduler. She waited for 30 minutes before the front desk/receptionist person told her the surgery scheduler is still with a "client". Then after waiting a bit longer the front desk person then tells her the surgery scheduler will be going to lunch soon and to come back at 1. Mind you her eyes are still dilating. She goes back to the office at 1 or so and then waits 50 minutes. No one acknowledged her or updated her on the surgery schedulers status. She decided to just walk out. I am a regional manager for a few medical offices in riverside county and my daughter runs an office for an optometrist in Hawaii. I train each and everyone of my front office employees and staff to treat customers fairly, respectfully and with kindness even if you have to fake it. A good office starts with the staff and I wish I had googled this office beforehand because the 2.5 stars is definitely accurate. I refuse to have my mom come back here for her surgery or at all for that matter. read more

This place was highly recommended. However my experience was extremely unusual. Dr.Tew wasn't very personable and seemed uninterested in my concerns. Seemingly preoccupied. He and his female medical assistant were a bit too friendly with each other during my exam. Touchy and extended stares with each other. Made me feel very uncomfortable. First off, I want to address the supposed "rudeness" of the staff. It sounds like a lot of entitled people coming in here complaining that they weren't treated special. The staff has always been incredibly polite and helpful. I've had to change my follow up a couple of times and they were understating and patient with me. I had LASIK done and they addressed every concern and question I had and went over my results both pre and post op in detail. My recovery time was incredibly short and I felt no pain that day, and was back to full activities ahead of the week long recovery time they recommend. Three weeks later I was snorkeling and swimming in Hawaii. My vision has never been better, my eyes feel fantastic, and the staff still ensures that I have everything I need. I have and will continue to recommend this practice to friends and family looking to get the same procedure done. read more

So glad I selected Inland Eye Specialists in Murrieta to have my torn retina examined, diagnosed and treated. The whole team exude professionalism, competence and patient-centric care. Visited two days in a row. Day one for an exam that confirmed retinal tear. Day two to meet with a surgeon, confirm method of treatment and to complete the procedure. There are some wait times but considering they took me on the same day I made the appointment and considering how many patients they try to see as soon as possible, I think the wait times are very reasonable and understandable. Just grateful to get this potentially vision impairing injury diagnosed and treated so quickly. Dr Johnson and all the MEDICAL staff were great. That being said, the other staff is terrible. Specifically the surgery scheduler and billing ladies. They are very difficult to get in touch with, have very low communications with patients, and they don't explain everything needed. For example, I paid for a certain lense for cataract surgery. During it, the Dr said I don't need that lense, but just the basic one, which will refund me over 1K. I thought it would be much more, but the surgery schedule didn't explain everything to me previously and then when confronting her about it, she was very snotty, like I was in the wrong. Also, the billing lady had never even began my refund 2 weeks after! I called in when it was supposed to come back to me and still wasn't there, thank goodness I did since she didn't do her job! Keep the Dr and that staff...but they need new office staff. Even the main "billing dept" snapped at me because "she isn't even on this side of the country and doesn't know what's going on".... She stated that she didn't take the insurance I had and I stated I would then be a cash patient, and that wasn't good enough. The appointment person then tells me that she's recording the call (which I didn't care about) that she should have stated that at the beginning of the call. The crazy part is I'm a former patient.
