The past negative reviews are consistent with what I experienced this morning. I had an appt. at 8am, the staff and patients are waiting outside of the building, the key holders had an emergency, locksmith is en route, the doctor is on his way from Orange County (mind you there were others who had an appt at 7:30 who had been waiting ahead of me). Discussing the matter with other patients, I guess this is a trend where the doctor or staff would have an emergency and appts would get cancelled or postponed. This trend is an indicator to me that either this is a failing practice or the doctors do not care about timeliness. The only positive is that there was a nice lady who seemed to work there who tried to offer rescheduling services and give us an update. I could tell that she was taking all the face shots. I left after waiting for an hour because if the locksmith arrive, we still have to wait for the doctor who should have been in his office at 7:30 and not "on his way". He would then have to address the backlog and it would be another couple of hours before I would get seen. I gave this place a chance despite the negative reviews. I would recommend that you pick another place. read more

I was there today (4/8) for an appt. with Dr. Samuel. There was no one there at at that address and all the doors were locked. 2 other patients were also there. That was the address I was given when I made the appt. I called, and called, and called. No answer. Finally, someone in the Phillipines call center answered. When I ask to be connected, they would only send an email to the office, which wasn't actually at that address. Not sure where it was. No response. Left 3 other messages. No response. The call center could not reach them. I need to find a Retina Specialist that will care about patients. read more

Waste of time to visit Dr Samuel about a vitrectomy. I know the risk and had it on my other eye. He did not even look at my eye with a scope or anything and said I would do it with an injured other eye. What a waste of my time and money. read more

This place is horribly crowded they overbook their appointments. Wait times are long expect to spend at least an hour waiting if not longer. Be prepared you may even have to stand while waiting for your appointment. If you encounter an issue from your treatment, don't expect a return phone call. The phone wait times are ridiculous. I would not recommend going to this practice. The Dr.'s are constantly changing. This place is unpleasant and unprofessional. read more

First visit was in January a month ago and everybody seemed to be put together and know what they're doing. The visit didn't seem too long of a wait. Yesterday was my second time visiting the place. Didn't have to wait too long to get in. Getting out of there was the problem. They forgot to put my slip in the line of papers waiting to be seen. I overheard someone said their appointment was at 9:10 and they got to leave and mine was at 9:00. So, I thought something's off. I finally asked and they were looking for my slip then I was immediately admitted to a room to see the doctor. Good thing I asked or else I would be waiting forever. read more

If we could go somewhere else we would. This is now the 3rd time I have had to reschedule my 95 year old mom. The "appointment " was at 9:10am and there are 30 people ahead of her. I suspect ANOTHER hour and a half wait. I would re schedule but I'm certain it wouldn't be any better. The parking is horrendous, and the scheduling is done VERY poorly. The office is scruffy and the 3 Dr's she has seen are unprofessional, have poor bedside manner. The waiting room is PACKED- I had to wait outside. read more

Wow over an hour wait time for a scheduled appointment. They really overbook, so ridiculous. The waiting room is so crowded not even a place to sit. Standing room for people that have vision issues is completely ridiculous. The doctors are always changing hardly ever see the same doctor more than a few times, which is very concerning. read more

Horrible waits, no information for surgery then they do the surgery in Murrieta and fail to inform you that your post op the next day will be in Anaheim! I feel sorry for older patients that are to navigate on their own. I have been trying to help my mom thru this process. My wife and I have been patients at RIC for a couple of years and have never had problems like some of these reviewers mentioned. As a matter of fact, I had an appointment last week, which I confused with another the next day at the DMV as to the time and was an hour late. The wonderful young woman at the front desk was able to squeeze me in after lunch an hour later. Our doctor is Dr. Culotta and he is very professional and matter of fact. I highly recommend the RIC and Dr. Culotta. I might have spelled his name wrong and apologize if I did. read more

Dr. Samuel is an amazing person. He has been treating my son for the last 9 months. We see him every 3 months. He has special needs and due to his premature birth, has suffered with eye problems. I am sorry to say that too did not receive the professional treatment I expected, the Dr. came in directly to computer, without turning to look at me said, you are find would like to see you in 6 months. I then asked will why am I here? At that point he decide to quickly look in my eye, and you have spot, you will be find, see you in 6 month. 2nd visit I asked why he did not take to time speak directly, and investigate that actual problems they are having with their vision? Front counter office staff and intake staff were helpful on courteous. There is one medical doctor Chief Medical Director - Michael Samuel, MD, that wins the award for the "worst bedside manner in history." His attitude towards my wife and I was downright despicable. Because we had several questions about a procedure that entailed sticking a needle into my wife's eyeball, Dr. Michael Samuel said to us "YOU GUYS TALK TOO MUCH AND YOU THINK YOU KNOW EVERYTHING!" So, if you are looking for an experience where someone will verbally abuse you and is incapable of common decency, Michael Samuel is the one to ask for. read more

First visit took a little over an hour. They had no clue what we were there for. Our PCP sent over the paperwork but had to explain myself to everyone at the office. The Consult with the Dr was fast but the wait overall wasn't good. The girl even mentioned they were busy so there might be a wait and yes there was a long wait. VERY UPSET - I went to RIoC on a referral through my insurance. Suffering for a week with a painful & inflamed chelazion cyst. In spite of admitting they don't typically perform this procedure, they welcomed me to see the doctor who "might be able to help" me. I hesitated at the "consent to dilate" form b/c I knew it wasn't necessary for what I needed but was told the dr would not be able to see me at all without the consent signed. So I completed the paper work. In the initial exam with technician, I was again told that "we don't typically do these procedures but let's go ahead, maybe the dr can help you." Again, I balked at dilation, KNOWING it was not necessary for my situation. The technician insisted that the dr would need to see the inside of the eye in the exam. I was then subjected to a full retinal exam and TWO HOURS after my arrival, I saw the Dr who said - "no, we don't do this procedure here. Have you tried applying hot compresses? Most of these cysts resolve themselves that way." I told him YES, I've been doing that AGGRESSIVELY for a week now! Both Urgent Care PA & PCP said it should be treated by an opthamologist. He said, I can see you're not happy with my response but really, any opthamologist will tell you the same. Keep using hot compresses for another COUPLE OF WEEKS. I replied that I am pretty familiar with my own eyes and the experience I have had of several chelazions over the years that have indeed resolved themselves but THIS ONE IS NOT. As I checked out of the office, I was told by the staff that I now have to go back to my PCP for a new referral because they DID provide service on this visit - which makes the referral now void. It's now 4:15 on Friday. Even calling my Dr's office this minute will mean another weekend in pain, with impaired vision and a hot compress applied to my swollen painful eye for another weekend. I lost a full day of work, received unnecessary treatment, wasted a referral and get to start ALL OVER AGAIN! SHAME on RIoC for their UNETHICAL handling of my visit and WASTE of my time, NEEDLESSLY EXTENDING my painful condition. I will be filing a formal complaint through my insurance. read more

I have taken my mom here about a year. We are very pleased with Dr Bond and his staff.

I usually do not leave reviews, but felt compelled to so others would really know what is going on in this office. Its dirty with staff that are kind, but are lacking the basic fundamental knowledge in their field. Dr. Chang was completely incompetent and did not do all of the necessary test to rule out the condition I was referred to him for. When pressed about his findings and wanting to know what he thought about the thinness of my corneas I was told "the corneas are the front of the eye and I am a specialist of the back of the eye". As an ophthalmologist he should be a trained medical doctor that specializes in the eye. If he does not know anything about the front of the eye than that rules out a number of eye conditions that result in damage to the cornea. He suggested I come back to him in six months as a follow-up. I will not go six months with the possibility of loss of peripheral vision before I see a competent doctor that can fully access and diagnosis me. He did not perform a single test that my optometrist did not perform and he seemed uneducated regarding how to use the his own computer system and on how to read the results. I contacted a good friend who's an optician at a state of the art office who advised of what should have occurred at my appointment. With a lack of equipment and needed skills I highly suggest you avoid this office if your optometrist suspects you may have low tension open angle glaucoma. read more

Everyone was friendly...knowledgable and polite...especially nice if you are going in for first appointment and awaiting the news of your visit....good or bad. In my case...I was awaiting news on my retina problems...for 6 months I have been Dr. to Dr....this Dr.(Dr.RK Murthy) was so professional..knew his business and answered every question I had and gave me more information then anyone so far. I left feeling so much better with answers to 'get to the bottom' of it all. I am still under care but there is a light at the end, now. I read a review of Dr. Samuel that said he has the "worst bedside manner in history"! Needless to say I was not looking forward to my visit with him. I have worked in the medical field for most of my adult life and was ready to defend myself in asking questions about a procedure on my eye. I knew to threaten to write to the medical group, my insurance company and or the medical board. I wasn't prepared for the polite and professional doctor. that walked in and introduced himself to me and my husband. He asked what he could help me with and proceeded to read the notes from Dr. Theodore who had referred me to him. He looked at the tests that I had done and went over them with us and explained everything to us. He ended up saying that while I will probably need surgery in the future, he didn't think that it is necessary right now. He ended by asking if we had any other questions and asking to see me again in a few months to recheck me. Wonderful doc, and wonderful staff. read more
