I was referred here by my dentist to remove a supernumerary tooth. Darmstadt then referred me to an endodontist, who told me I do need an oral surgeon. I paid $250 for a CT scan, only to be given a CD that my endodontist couldn't even open. Now, I'm having to return for a new CD to give to a different oral surgeon (since I no longer trust this office and need a new referral anyway, even tho I was originally referred here to this oral surgeon). I was told my CD with the results of the scan would be ready at 1:30 pm. I arrived at 1:45 pm, but it wasn't ready. By 2:36 pm, I was told the CD didn't even have the image on it--likely the same issue from the start. When I asked about a refund, the staff argued that what I paid for was "the scan," not the CD. But as a patient, when you pay $250 for imaging, you should expect access to your records in a usable format. I never actually received what I paid for, and the lack of accountability and professionalism has been extremely frustrating. I stayed 10 minutes after they closed the clinic waiting for a resolution, didn't get my CD, didn't get offered a refund and not even a single apology. Just eye rolls and attitude. read more

Dr Darmstadt is the man!!!! I'm 37 and I was dreading removing my 3 wisdom teeth the last 2 decades! In fact it's probably been my biggest fear because I did not want to get put to sleep nor did I want to stay awake for the procedure lol Dr Darmstadt explained thoroughly how the operation would go and recommended I go under "local anesthesia" he explained that this is not the hospital grade type where you just knockout. I trusted his judgement and I'm glad he was my Surgeon! Upon showing up I had to fast from midnight prior, they hooked me up to get my vitals and when he set try local anesthesia I swear I closed my eyes for 5 mins (still conscious) and I opened them back up while Dr Darmstadt said okay we are done. Wow, this man is amazing! I wish I'd have come in sooner, his staff is also kind as well. By far the best oral surgery experience I could have possibly had! Dr. D is knowledgeable, professional, efficient and has reasonable prices for his procedures. I came here to seek a 2nd opinion after I was almost suckered into paying $3,200+ for a wisdom teeth extraction at one of those corporate dental offices that try and up-sell you into procedures that you don't actually need. Dr. D's office is the complete opposite of that. During my consultation, he took the time to sit down and listen to my concerns and explained everything step-by-step. When the day of the procedure actually came, it was as efficient as it could have possibly been. You can tell he has been doing this for a while and doesn't have the ill-intention of making you overpay for unnecessary procedures. I wish all dentists were like this. Additionally, he took the time to respond to all my follow-up questions when I emailed him days after the procedure. I was super paranoid about my swelling but the office reassured me it would go down days after (and it sure did). He told me everything I needed to know about post-extraction care. My own dentist referee me to a periodontist who wanted thousands of dollars to get my tooth pulled and put me on a wait list. Dr. Darmstadt was amazing, I had a horrible tooth ache due to a wisdom tooth and he did such an amazing job removing it. I didn't feel anything throughout the entire procedure. The procedure itself was pretty quick, I was out of the office within two hours. The only reason I'm giving three stars is because one of the staff members was talking about me while I was in the lobby and is extremely rude and condescending everytime I call. I still need the other wisdom teeth removed but I'll be going to another oral surgeon because no one likes to feel uncomfortable in a dental office on top of already feeling anxious about a dental procedure. read more

Had all four wisdom teeth extracted last Friday, the process was fast and I felt comfortable, office was very clean and staff was professional. My previous experiences with dental offices have not been great at all so I'm now super paranoid about everything dental. I was comfortable here and their team has been helpful. They do not make follow up appointments but when I emailed asking for one they got me in right away. Had my wisdom teeth pulled here after being in excruciating pain for weeks. Dr. Darmstadt explained that one of my wisdom teeth had been growing into my jawbone, but still removed all of my wisdom teeth flawlessly! His staff was very friendly and even laughed at my lame chemistry jokes while I was under the drugs. At one point I told them not to start yet since I was still awake to which they told me it was already over and I could go home. I didn't believe them (what stuff did they give me??) until they showed me all 4 of my teeth they had pulled and asked me if I wanted to keep them as souvenirs. Everything healed perfectly and I was able to chew soft food the next day! Great experience especially how nervous I was. Best part? Had 2 Wisdom teeth pulled by Dr. Darmstadt. Just did the local anesthesia and didn't feel a thing! Normal pain for 2 days after procedure and that was it! He gave me pain meds and they worked and 3 days later I'm eating and drinking normally with very little discomfort! Office staff was very friendly! They made sure I was comfortable and constantly checked on me. Appointment was at 11 and I was out of there at 12:15!! The actual wisdom teeth removal only took maybe 5 minutes!! The nurse reassured me the whole time and Dr. Darmstadt was very friendly. I have one more procedure I need done to my teeth and I'm going to have my Dentist refer me back here! Dr. Steven Darmstadt is an excellent oral surgeon. I went in to get my four wisdom teeth remove. The nurse was kind and helpful in preparing me for the operation. The entire process took about 2hrs but operation itself about 50min. I like that I was semi sedated (not completely asleep) but felt no pain through the whole process. Even no pain in recovery (though I was on point on my pain meds). Even before my appointment I was helped by Cecilia for all my paperwork and she was great in getting back to me quickly. I had been suffering excruciating pain because of my wisdom teeth. My original appointment at 7-Day Dental had to be canceled and the next available date was going to be 2 and half months later because their oral surgeon only comes in once a week, not on Fridays. For a full-time student, this makes scheduling impossible. I did my research and called all around Orange County for oral surgeons and emergency appointments. One office only had their oral surgeon only come in once a MONTH! Luckily, a receptionist at a different office was kind enough to give me Dr. Darmstadt's number. And I was even more fortunate that they took my cheap, individual insurance plan. Because Dr. Darmstadt's office specializes in oral and maxillofacial surgery, it wasn't like he was only going to be in one day a week. I was able to get in an appointment the same week with much relief. The surgery itself was incredibly successful and more comfortable than I had expected. The staff was very professional and considerate. They even offered me a warm blanket because it was a little chilly in the operating room. Once I was given the anesthesia, I was out and woke up only to some soreness and puffiness in my mouth. I bled for the next couple of hours but didn't need to take more than one Vicodin for the rest of my recovery time. I was able to lightly chew solid food the very next day and didn't experience any other discomfort. I highly recommend this office for their professionalism, cleanliness and efficiency. This appointment cost me a little less than it would have at 7-Day Dental because they only needed to put me under for 30 minutes instead of 45. The surgery was done in less than 30 minutes of course and I was very satisfied with the entire experience, as nerve-wracking as it can be. read more

Wow. Rude staff!! The front office is extremely rude, and unprofessional. I tried calling various times to make an appointment during office hours and no one would pick up. I left about three voicemails and no call back. Finally I decided to walk in the office personally to make an appointment. The receptionist was so rude. I came here to get a tooth pulled. being a big baby that I am I got Nitrous which cost me a lot (my insurance did not cover it). The nurse and doctor arnt very personable or to friendly. Office staff are friendly though. The nurse rattled off a bunch of instructions like a computer, handed me paperwork,. Then she walked me out after my tooth got pulled kind of in a rush and led me out the door to the hallway. I was still dizzy and had to stand in the hallway for a few minutes before I could walk straight. Eh it was whatever service wise. Dr. Darmstadt and his team did extra work for my wisdom teeth extractions (3) because they had to communicate with my other doctors. They did phenomenal. Had me come in to help clean the holes after as well. 2 days after my surgery I was eating a hamburger. I had minimal swelling and minimal bruising. After waking up from my surgery I was not even loopy. I was able to go home and relax. I really recommend Dr. Darmstadt, although you might not have the same experiences as me, I was impressed with is professional staff and their willingness to go above and beyond for me. read more

I got a wisdom tooth pulled here. The skill and speed with which the doctor performed the procedure was fairly good. The "at home care" brochure and explanation left me with questions. I assume many people flake on their dental bills because there must have been half a dozen of the same type of form telling the patient they gave to pay up if the insurance doesn't. The office staff was neither friendly or rude. The office is dated and literally has various standing AC units with ducts taped up to the ceiling. The window where they perform surgery is facing the sun, so they put tin foil on the windows to block the sun,like a crack house! The office seems poorly kept and the level of clutter made me feel uneasy about the level of hygiene in the office. I feel like a medical setting should be squeaky clean and clutter-free. If I could do it over, I would go elsewhere because I felt uneasy about the cleanliness and hygiene of the office. read more
