Their oral surgeon they use is great as well. He did an amazing job on removing my daughter's wisdom teeth. Everyone is very knowledgeable which is great. I really don't know how to score this. I needed an emergency extraction. My own dentist said they couldn't do it and that it required an oral surgeon. Nobody in my area could see me that day. I called Fullerton Dental Group looking for an Oral Surgeon but they said their Dentist could handle it. I was happy to hear that and headed over immediately. The office is very nice. The people are very nice and I was super impressed. Before the proceedure i was shown the services and costs for me to agree. My insurance fully covers extractions so when I saw the $800 bill (out of pocket) I asked one simple question: What is not covered by my insurance? The billing rep said my insurance covers a percentage. This was not true. Based on this information I accepted the charges and had the procedures done. It might be that I was in great pain and very happy to get the tooth out but I felt much gratitude and was very happy with the service. When I paid the bill, I was given no invoice or itemized explaination of the charges. The next day I contacted the office to get a breakdown and was told they would send it in the next two business days. On the third day, having not recieved the bill, I contacted my Insurance and they sought an explaination of the charges. My insurance was able to get the breakdown which explained the charges for procedures that were not covered. In conclusion, I may have agreed to the procedures if given an oppertunity to consider the expense, but I was deliberately misinformed. They knew what was not covered and could have answered my question which makes me mistrust their judgement altogether. read more

The care there was great and amazing. The office experience was very welcoming. Their payment plans make it easy.

Leaving a review to hopefully get movement on this, since clearly my private efforts are not working. I came in for an appointment on 10/13 to get a cleaning and work with the dentist to make a treatment plan, as I knew I needed some work done. I was incredibly clear about my financial limitations, as I work for a nonprofit and things are especially tight this year given the general state of things. I was clear about what I wanted to accomplish first versus what I wanted to wait on. I was also abundantly clear that I had dental anxiety and needed my visit to be a good experience. Thankfully I can report that the care I received from the dentist, hygienists, and assistants was truly wonderful. I loved my care team and they did a great job. I can't say enough good things about them and they were very accommodating of my time constraints on two separate occasions. Credit where credit is due! However, the issue lies on the billing side of things. On that initial visit, I was strong armed and steam rolled into approving a $3,700 treatment plan without a full explanation of what that included and what I needed. I was overwhelmed and stressed and the office manager did not give me an opportunity to ask questions about what I was paying for. The treatment plan was not explained to me item by item and it was not provided to me until my treatment was completed, when I had voiced my concerns. Upon reviewing the treatment plan with my insurance provider, it's also clear that I was not provided options for my crowns, meaning that I could have gone home with a smaller credit card balance if they'd walked me through what my insurance covered. I went home that day and cried for an hour because I was so upset and felt extremely taken advantage of in a moment of extreme anxiety and overwhelm. However, I cannot change the circumstances of that and it is what it is. That being said, that initial treatment plan included a root canal for a tooth that I *did not need.* I was charged for the root canal with the initial treatment plan with the idea (according to the office manager) that I could have a consult with the endodontist to see if a root canal was necessary, and if it *was,* then it could be completed that same day. I went home that day without a root canal that I paid for, stupidly assuming that they'd refund me for services not rendered. Nope! I had to call once my treatment was done to request a refund for that service, meaning that they were simply going to keep several hundred dollars of mine despite not needing that service. In addition, I had also paid for another filling that they didn't complete, and they made no move to schedule that appointment and fulfill that service until I pointed it out and scheduled it during the aforementioned phone call. This phone call was on Wednesday, October 29th and the office manager stated that she was processing a refund for the root canal. It is now monday, November 24th, and a refund is still not reflected on my credit card balance. I have already followed up twice with no response, so here I am trying to get this resolved again. If I do not receive the refund that I am entitled to, then I will be taking it up with the credit card company and finding somebody higher up at this company that I can speak to. I would be extremely careful with this dental office and double/triple check any treatment plans they make for you. Ask for a printout up front and ask questions, because they will absolutely take you for a ride if they are given the opportunity. read more

This used to be my go-to dental office. I referred my family and friends here. The staff were nice and friendly. I used to have a good experience at this dental office, but after not visiting for two years due to orthodontic treatment, I was disappointed to see how much things have changed. The service is not the same anymore. I had to wait for over an hour twice after my scheduled appointment. I had to reschedule as they would want me to stay longer. On top of that, they charge a cancellation fee if a patient doesn't show up, yet they don't seem to respect their own appointments. It's incredibly frustrating and unprofessional. Unfortunately, I can't recommend this place anymore based on my recent experiences. read more

I visited the office many months ago and kept lagging on my review- however, for my very first (and only) visit at the office I was impressed. The staff was extremely helpful and kind, and after calling again to confirm my appointment for next week, I got the sweetest and most patient person over the phone. Dont waste your time on this dentist, especially if you value your time, money, and privacy. They have some nice diagnostic equipment, but have very limited services, the wait is ridiculous, and they only take your money for worthless procedures and then refer you to another provider for any dental work besides overpriced cleanings or polishing services. The dental technicians are pleasant but it is only so they can sell more useless procedures. Also beware, they use MyChart SaaS software which has been hacked multiple times and data leaked. Even if you sign the opt-out to avoid using the auto-checkin and myChart portal the dentist will ignore your opt-out and use the software anyway. Avoid this place at all cost! They do not care about their clients... it is all about $$$! read more

DO NOT COME HERE - PLEASE READ IF YOU'RE CONSIDERING THIS DENTIST I almost never leave reviews, but I feel a responsibility to warn others about my experience at Fullerton Dental Group. I've always enjoyed going to the dentist. I've had excellent oral hygiene my whole life, and aside from one minor filling, I've never had dental issues. So when my husband and I moved to Fullerton a couple of years ago, we chose Fullerton Dental Group based on good reviews and the fact that they were in-network. At first, everyone seemed friendly. But before the hygienist even started my cleaning, they asked if I drank carbonated drinks. I mentioned I often drink sparkling water. Immediately, they began blaming that for supposed gum recession--even before looking in my mouth. They then measured my gums and found a few borderline deep pockets. I was confused and concerned, especially since I've always had great check-ups. The dentist came in, reinforced the fear, and told me I needed a deep cleaning right away. When I hesitated and asked questions--especially because the cost was high--they pushed harder. The dentist directly asked if I was refusing because of money, then continued pressing until I reluctantly agreed. Afterward, I contacted a few other dentists, and they all said it's highly unlikely that carbonated water alone would cause the kind of gum issues they claimed I had. Despite my concerns, my husband kept his appointment. They told him he needed three root canals and a filling--even though he had zero pain or issues. The estimate was in the thousands of dollars. When he asked questions, the tone changed quickly, and they became pushy and dismissive. I hoped this was a one-off experience, so I went back 6 months later. They did the exact same thing again--scare tactics, unnecessary treatment plans, and pressure to agree immediately. Now that I've moved and found a new, reputable dentist, I can confirm my instincts were right. At my recent cleaning, the new dentist said my teeth and gums look great, and I have excellent hygiene. No issues, no treatments recommended. This entire experience left me feeling taken advantage of and disrespected. It's clear to me now: this place is a scam. They use fear to push expensive, unnecessary procedures and inflate their billing. I don't know how they have so many good reviews--maybe they're paid for--but I urge you to read the negative ones too. I'm not alone. Do yourself and your family a favor: avoid Fullerton Dental Group. Your time, money, and peace of mind are worth more than what this place offers. read more

Both of my porcelain crown fell off!!! It's been a little over a year since I got them and I paid extra for the upgraded material. I'm very disappointed because not only do I dislike going to the dentist, I also paid thousands. The receptionist said there was a warranty but I'll have to wait two weeks before my appointment. I went in yesterday after much deliberation as I hate the dentist. I received a treatment plan that would cost me $6,500 out of pocket after insurance. When reviewing my plan with family and friends who are RDA's and dental insurance specialists, they found several extraneous line items. I spoke with Fermin again, who yesterday was very compassionate and caring, when today was a very different story. I questioned him on some of these items in the plan and he immediately took a negative and hostile tone. There was treatment I decided to go against that he blatantly lied and said was necessary when it's not. They also tried to charge a CONSULT as a limited exam for EACH specialist, $30 each procedure. They were upset I wanted regular porcelain lab crowns instead of the pricey CERIC brand they peddle. All around, there are fabulous care providers who work under a greedy and money-hungry corporation, and if you don't mind being swindled out of your hard earned cash, then come here! They seem caring and compassionate, but it's a ploy to charge you as much as possible so they can laugh their way to the bank. read more

I never write negative reviews and I was going to let this one slide until I got a credit card in the mail. I had a new patient appointment where they took X-rays and found that a root canal was needed. They scheduled the next appointment for 2 days later and gave me an estimate for almost $3k for all the work I needed. I kind of freaked out and was overwhelmed by the price so I called the office after my visit and inquired about a payment plan. The receptionist took some information over the phone and confirmed I qualified and noted that we'd go over it at my follow up visit. I ended up canceling and moving to another dentist and would've left it at that, but then an active credit card showed up in the mail. I called the cc company and apparently the dental office had submitted the application on my behalf. I never signed anything (confirmed in mychart) and was never notified the payment plan was a credit card. Suffice to say I was very disappointed by the whole experience. Thankfully, I was able to cancel the card without issue due to being unaware. Think twice before coming here unless you want a new line of credit opened on your behalf.. read more

I had a change of insurance and this dentist was assigned to me. It's closer than the dentist I had previously been going too for 10 yrs. Upon arrival office is clean and receptionist is friendly. You fill out an online questionnaire that is pretty long and they won't see you unless you fill it out. Next comes X-rays which were done by a friendly young man. Next comes the exam room and dentist comes in. She's friendly but almost suspiciously friendly and talking to me like I'm a child... couldn't quite pinpoint what the tone was. She goes through my X-rays and explains a lot of things. Overall what she sees is good. She does the gum exam where they call out the numbers they rate the gums along each tooth. Then she starts to explain I need a deep under gum cleaning that isn't covered by insurance and the receptionist will quote me later. There was also an area between 2 teeth that I kept catching food in and she gave me an option to fix that. Also not covered since would be cosmetic. Again receptionist will quote me. No biggie I thought but we were already 1 hour into my appointment and the cleaning/ polishing hasn't begun. Receptionist gives me a quote each non covered procedure is $250 to $500 range. I decline and ask for a regular cleaning ( that is covered by insurance and that I get every year at my other dentist). Receptionist said she was gonna go ask if I can have that done which I thought was weird. Why would she need to ask? It's covered and aren't routine dental appointments just for this??? She comes back and says she can knock off some money off the deep cleaning if I don't get the anti microbial or antibiotic (can't remember) rinse. I decline again and ask for the regular cleaning. She then says the dentist can't do the regular cleaning because it makes her liable if she's doing it but not going down into the gum line as a deep cleaning should...WAIT WHAT!?!? I just say in this chair for 1 1/2 hours for no cleaning or polishing!?!?! WTF kind of crook dentist is this? The young man that did my X-rays comes in now and confirms that I'm declining the paid services and says I can come back at another time when/if I decide to proceed. WHAT A WASTE OF TIME!!! I get up and leave. Now I know the tone the dentist was using on me. It's the sales pitch tone. The same tone you get when you're at a park and you make a new friend only to find out that person is trying to get you to join an multi level marketing scheme. Ugh so slimy. I feel like I spent 1 1/2 hours to be mind f**k. I go home and tell my husband and he says I bet it's a PDS dentist (Pacific Dental Services). He used to work at PDS corporate office for 5 yrs. I googled and sure enough they are. This is a privately owned company in Irvine that has these offices everywhere and are focused on sales pitches not so much dentistry. They are real dentist but they are trained on sales pitches and everyone in the office is in on it: dentist, receptionist and xray person all in cahoots to swindle you out of your money. Offices have different names but somewhere u see the PDS logo which is a yellow circle and says SMILE Generation. I saw this on the online questionnaire and i forgot my husband had worked for this company. These offices are set up so any dentist can come in and work. They handle the permits, billing and appointments are all done through their software. I have my son's appointment on Tuesday which I'm canceling. Do yourself a favor and STAY AWAY. Do your research and look up if your dentist is a PDS dentist. read more

Horrible customer service. I called my insurance pla and the insurance told me that the cleaning, x-ray, and checkup would be covered two times a year. I get into the office and the lady at the front desk tries charging me the $59 fee for out of pocket patients. I explained that my insurance never requires me to pay $59 for a co-pay. She called my insurance benefits turns out they do cover all three the exam, X-ray, and cleaning. But she was only willing to offer me An exam and X-ray. When I only go to the dentist 2-3 times a year for the checkup X-rays and the damn cleaning. That's the whole point of the dentist right? To get your teeth cleaned. I took my insurance card and I'm choosing to find a better dental practice. Discriminating against individuals with disabilities is so wrong. Shame on you guys read more

Unfortunately I am changing my review due to my insurance being billed for a service I did not receive. I have only seen Fullerton Dental once this year for a cleaning and my insurance offers two free cleanings as part of the coverage. My insurance was billed twice with code D4910 and D1110 on March 2nd, 2023. If this was done in error, it's extremely upsetting because I am sitting in a dental office lobby and not able to receive my second cleaning. Two days before the year ends and my insurance renews. I will be calling my insurance provider to report this because it is fraudulent to bill twice on the same day for a service that was only provided once. read more

I went in 3 months ago for an infected crown they placed on the molar they did a root canal to. They insisted after $2000 + 3 months ago that I needed to have the crown they put on removed because the molar they did a root canal on was "fractured"??!! Seriously?? Then the office manager told me that it's going to be a very costly procedure and not to worry because she knows "how wealthy my family is." So done. I took my dad to this dental office for a deep cleaning, the total cost for this without insurance was a little over $500. the supposedly deep cleaning was approximately 15 mins which is fairly fast compared to any other deep cleaning we've had before. They recommended future steps to take/ next procedures, but after thinking about the initial cost for a deep cleaning we changed our mind to have work with this office anymore. We canceled our future appointment and they were trying to charge us $100 for cancelling. That price for a cancellation is beyond absurd. read more

Don't come here. This place is far more expensive than any other dentist in the area or outside the area. They definitely try to sell you on services that you don't need at a premium price. I ended up getting my cavities filled here for around 600$. Never again. They tried to get me to do a deep cleaning here for almost 1,000$. After I can here, I called around for different prices and no one was anywhere near these kinds of prices. Furthermore, I had an appointment scheduled for me that I did not request and stated that a no show was a 40$ fee. The facility is nice and the staff is friendly but the blatant greed is far too much. Come to this place if you have insurance that makes everything free, I guess. read more

I rely on Yelp reviews to select where I take my business. I came here to get a root canal. I called and spoke to Gie and she was SO helpful. She helped me with figuring out how much my copay would be, she never rushed me on the phone. I was seen my Dr Magar and he explained the procedure, walked me through it and took his time when he saw me getting a little anxious in the beginning. The experience I had here was amazing! I had a terrible experience at my previous dentist and I was dreading going to the dentist. My anxiety disappeared because of how kind and helpful the entire staff was during my entire appointment. The staff were truly friendly and welcoming. Dr. Bhatia and Dr. Vu were extremely thorough and gave me lots of helpful tips and suggestions on how to maintain my oral hygiene. They explained each treatment, answered my questions, and checked up on me often throughout the procedure. I could tell that that I was in good hands with them. Chi, the office manager, was phenomenal. I had a small issue with my insurance and Chi helped walk me through what I could do to resolve it. She carefully explained the cost of each treatment and what would be covered by my insurance. Overall, my experience here has alleviated my anxiety about going to the dentist. I have been going to this dental office for several and have always been satisfied with the staff. From the front receptionist and staff they always make you feel important and have time to any questions that you have. Calling to remind you of your appointment and make efforts to get you in when you need. Place is clean and looks pretty well taken care of, unlike some places. Reception staff was pleasant and was pretty fast on doing their thing. Hygienist and the dentist has good bedside manners. They don't try to "upscale" you on things you don't need. They do recommend certain things, but it's always up to you. "No pressure sale." They also don't try to say you need certain work done if you don't need it. If you have a concern and ask about it, they check it out and give you their recommendations. I've asked should I change my bridge as it's quite old, the dentist's reply is, "is it giving me you issues?" If not, that's fine. She pulls up x-rays and photo of your teeth and explains why it's ok not to change it. read more

I have a LONG history with dentist all over orange county.... my teeth aren't the greatest and my anxiety and fear of them is massive! I have had a fair share of horrible experiences.... Yesterday I saw Dr. Bhatia for the first time for urgent issues, she and the staff are so caring and gentle! They always have my best interest as their first priority, and made sure to comfort me when they saw I was starting to struggle. This is the first time in YEARS that I'm not afraid to go back and complete the work. Highly recommend her and this office! read more
