I was referred to see Dr. Joseph to have a root canal procedure done. From the very moment we had the consultation; he was rude, confrontational with me when I asked questions and needed reassurance and overall lacked professionalism. It was clear that he didn't care about what I had to say because anytime I spoke, he couldn't keep any eye contact, kept turning away to fidget with different tools and items and kept looking outside the room. I let it slide as I needed the procedure done for two very severely infected teeth which I couldn't tolerate anymore and the office was the only one who could take me in the quickest as all others were heavily booked. So the appointment was made, I went ahead with the procedure, finally, it's over, its done and I can sleep... I was so wrong. About a week later, the same set of two teeth began with aches and pains again. I made an appointment to go back to see what was going on. When I got there, he really could care less. He told me to wait it out and to continue taking my medication that was prescribed and hurried out the office. I didn't want argue and make a big deal out of it; Fine you're the doctor, you know best, I will do that. within the next 3 days, the gums surrounding the teeth started to form painful blisters and leak pus. It was so severe not even the medications could numb the pain and I had to admit myself into the ER. They gave me corticosteroids and I went to get a second opinion elsewhere on what is exactly happening as I was not going back to him From what I was told, it was such a badly botched procedure that if I didn't take action right away, I would have developed Ludwig's Angina or Osteomyelitis within a week and to put a cherry on top of all of this, he billed my insurance twice for the procedure which is dishonest and fraudulent and I'm currently fighting to get that taken care. I have reported this to the Attorney Generals Office and the Massachusetts Insurance Fraud Bureau. Save your sanity, save your stress, and stay away from this dental office. It's not worth the headache and pain, I am not sure how they are legally allowed to run operations like this

He never asked about what had happened or what I had been told by the office, but just seemed focused on money (as another yelp review states below) and stated that my insurance was "weird" and "difficult" and that they had "lost money" on my like 3-minute cavity check). You need to realize that the office is in a position of power and please be respectful to everyone. A few months I called and was told that they would check on a cavity as part of my next cleaning at no additional charge (because it would take 10 seconds) and they were nice enough to move up my appointment. When I showed up for my appointment, they said they didn't have time for a cleaning and they checked inside my mouth for about 4-6 seconds and said everything was fine. I confirmed before (over the phone and in person) that it would be complementary (because it would take 10 seconds). They then charged me and billed my insurance for a full exam. The reason for this review is that the office has been frustrating and very needlessly time-consuming to work with; in addition to the phone call, on at least 4 different occasions I was told something would happen (we will call you later today of by tomorrow; we will email you in the next few hours) and nothing was done. Emails weren't sent with names in the signature so I was never sure who I was emailing with. In the future, just say "We're sorry this happened. You were told it would be a cleaning but instead we made a mistake with the schedule and we apologize for this. Good news is at we were able to do a 15-second check on your cavity we installed, and because this was only 15 seconds and because you were misled into thinking that it would be a complementary part of a cleaning, we won't be charging you or your insurance for those 15 seconds." All the dentists and orthodontists I had growing up, would check on a cavity that they installed for free if it took 5-10 seconds. If they saw something that looked more alarming we would go from there and possibly book a longer exam in the future. I may delete this review in the future, and wish everyone the best with no hard feelings. Goodbye.

I found Dr. Goldberg, and made a consultation appointment with him. He took X-rays, examined my teeth, and said one of your tooth definitely needs root canal but the other one does not for now. Then he thoroughly explained what was going on with the tooth nerves inside my gum, why the tooth needed root canal and how the root canal could save my tooth. Dr. Goldberg's explanations were very convincing. Although very much scared of root canal procedure, I decided to go for it. The root canal treatment was completed in 2 sessions each 1.5 hours long (total of 3 hours). I found Dr, Goldberg kind, nice, considerate, caring, experienced and professional in his job. He never was in a rush. He always had time for my questions, and patiently addressed all my concerns and questions. He gave me his email address, his cellphone number and work number, and said feel free to call any time if you have any questions or concerns. During the root canal procedure, he checked on me several times to be sure that I was comfortable and was feeling no pain. Sometimes he made funny conversations to distract my thoughts from things were going on inside my mouth. After Dr. Goldberg got the root canal treatment done, I was so happy and satisfied that I hugged him. :) Two days later, he called me to follow up. What else could I want from a doctor? Premier Endodontics…read more Ok, I usually only write reviews for restaurants so this is new to me. And this may be as important as your next meal in the North End or the Seaport! Like many (or most?) I am not a huge fan of going to the dentist or endodontist! I've had my share of visits and it's never as bad as you're expecting but it's not something you look forward to or look back on fondly..and you all know what I mean! Well, Premier Endodontics at 271 Waverly Oaks Road in Waltham, MA has changed that. From the easy check in with Henry, seamless connection and billing of insurance and any out of pocket expenses, to the explanation of their procedure. I had a short wait and was greeted by Dr Jones' dental assistant, Sabrina. Also, the office and their equipment and stuff seem very modern and the office was impeccably clean and comfortable. Sabrina greeted me and brought me to a room and explained what they would be doing and started with x rays. Shortly after the x-rays I was greeted by Doctor Jones who could not be more personable and professional! She explained what they would be doing to fix my cracked tooth. I needed a root canal and a temporary filling, then a second appointment for the permanent filling, and finally I would go back to my dentist who would install a crown. She also explained that they would first numb my mouth to desensitize it before administering "anesthesia" which I'm guessing was Novocain? When it was time to inject she was obviously more skilled than the last person I had seen years ago..I barely felt a thing! Not sure if technology has progressed but it numbed me up quickly and I didn't feel a thing!! All the drilling, grinding, hands, tools, and suction tube and not a bit of pain or even discomfort!! It is clear that Doctor Jones and her assistant worked extremely well together. They communicated and executed the procedure like clockwork and even played some decent music while they went about their business. (I'd recommend Yacht Rock or Classic Rock as opposed to Metallica or Snoop Dogg!) Disclaimer: They both sing while working and neither of them will ever be a contestant on American Idol! . However...it was very soothing and kind of reassuring of their confidence in what was clearly a routine procedure for them, but can be a bit daunting for 99% of us who cringe when we hear the words ROOT CANAL!! I returned for the second appointment to have the permanent filling installed and it went just as well as the first. The entire staff were so professional and seem like family to each other, which was very welcoming and reassuring to someone who doesn't go to the "dentist" much! The staff is absolutely amazing. They're all very sweet and understanding of your concerns. I only had a cleaning to day (and a very deep one as I hadn't been to the dentist in a long time) and I can confidently say that, even though it was a rough cleaning, I enjoyed it! I really enjoyed my experience here and I never thought I could ever say that about a dentist's office. My appointment was supposed to be a year from now but I saw the email they usually send when there's an open spot and quickly replied to their message with my information, which I had typed down on a note in my phone so I could copy paste it quickly on their email message. If you don't do that, odds are someone else will get the appointment. The last time I tried, the appointment was filled within two minutes of having received the email.
