My teeth are not in horrible condition, so to think I was being offered an option to have them all ripped out and put in dentures at 38 was absolutely terrifying. I feel like he didn't believe I would stick with the treatment because of my anxiety or didn't think I could afford other options. But what he didn't realize is that I worked myself up for years to finally go to this appointment and I made a promise to myself to see this process through, and I would've appreciated a Dentist that supported that mindset with hope. They even gave her a water bottle with no straw! (Thank god cause we only own a hydroflask and straws are a no no) and a free 16 oz smoothie. I mean could this place get any better? It does! She later had dry socket on the weekend when the office is closed and Dr. Gresehover responded right away and saw her immediately to apply medication to help with pain.

I was experiencing intense dental pain the likes I'd never experienced before so my spouse called on October 9th to try to get me in because we figured it was my wisdom teeth and we were told that they would be flexible about the sedation they'd require (I am EXTREMELY phobic of IVs and just the thought of being awake while one is inserted makes my heart race). The scheduling person said "next Thursday," which we assumed meant the 17th. Called on the 16th to make sure the x-rays we sent in went through and to ask a couple questions. The appointment was actually for "Thursday the 23rd." If you look at your calendar, October 2019 didn't have a Thursday the 23rd. After a lot of confusion, we were able to figure out it was for Wednesday the 23rd. And they changed the time on me too, making it over two hours earlier than I was originally told. I've only been to one dentist before this and it was a complete nightmare so I was very anxious, bordering on panic, but the dental assistant who we talked to for quite a long time really made me feel better. She was incredibly reassuring and laid all of my fears to rest. Even their little informational video you have to watch didn't scare me off because she just made me feel so much better. I was ready to schedule. Then Dr. Reynolds walked in and emotionally kicked me in the stomach. They don't do "breathe downs" in office, wouldn't answer when I asked why, wouldn't explain why I "need" an IV beyond the "position" of my teeth. He said they could do a "breathe down" at the hospital but he made it very clear he wouldn't be happy to do it. I was told that they could give me Valium to calm me down for the IV insertion and when I said Valium hasn't helped me AT ALL in the past, he just shut down the option without even asking if anything else has a history of helping. He just really made me feel like he thought I was a bothersome child and that he was trying to dictate how to handle my health and my body. Edit to Add: Dr. Reynolds asked to put a tourniquet on me to look at the veins in my forearms (this was before I realized he was talking about doing this with me fully aware) because I have a medical condition that makes having needles in my joints/hands extremely problematic. He put the band right across the middle of my elbow joints, even after I explained that having my joints messed with causes me excruciating pain. People who know about such things have told me that's definitely not where you're ever supposed to tie off to get veins to pop because joints cannot compress properly. It was extremely painful while he was doing it but I gritted my teeth to get through it because the rest of the awfulness hadn't happened yet. I experienced numbness and pain in my arms and hands for the next 36 hours due to this. [end of edit] I did not finish the consultation and left in tears. My dad also had a negative experience with Dr. Reynolds in July but I was hopeful that his experience was a fluke. Apparently, it was not because the things he said about Dr. Reynolds' attitude was exactly how I was treated as well. I want to start this by saying that I did have to reschedule a few times. I fully understand that…read morethis is an annoyance, but in my defense I am a teacher, it was towards the end of the school year, I also coach baseball, and I had little control over the things that led me to have to reschedule. However, because of my rescheduling, Dr. Engler would no longer be willing to extract my tooth and referred me somewhere else to have it done. I choose Ledge Rock because I had heard good things and was impressed with the Dentist I had worked with during my initial visit. However, I had a bad tooth, went back in, found out my initial dentist had left, and they only have one dentist on staff. X-rays were done on the tooth, was told no root canal was necessary, that it was a cavity that could be fixed and crowned. After a week I was still in pain, any pressure on that tooth caused a shooting pain, went back in and was told that now I needed to have a root canal. Great, now I was out the money I had spent on the original fix, and now I had to spend more money to have the tooth fixed (she did say "I mentioned that it might need a root canal" well, great, but maybe you should have made sure before I need to now drop $2000 to fix this). She offered to replace the crown that she had initially put on the tooth that now had to be removed because of the root canal needed. This was in February, I have not been able to get the root canal because I don't have the money for it. Two months ago I broke a tooth, went in, scheduled an extraction, but as mentioned, had to reschedule a few times, went in today to finally have it taken care of (I had to make the decision between the two teeth and the one in the most pain won out) and was told that she was not going to do it, and they were going to refer me to someone else. Reason why? I reschedule too many times. Fine, I'm going to another dentist. I would not recommend them. I am now having to drop another $1000 on a tooth that was not fixed to begin with, and because of another tooth issue, I have to choose between the two and being able to also pay my bills. Thanks. Follow-up/Addition: Just to add to my review, the office staff, or at least the one I spoke to, deserves a negative review. Not only were they disrespectful, but they also provided false information (they lied). She stated that the only reason the dentist was going to remove the broken tooth was because "I was going on vacation." Not true for two reasons. First I'm a teacher and we had three weeks left of school, and two, though I did have to drive out to California that was an unplanned trip do to a friends accident (which occurred the last day of school and I left two days later. I have documented hard copy proof of this. I went in two days after the tooth was broken, was provided options for the fix in house and the cost of each, and had an appointment the following week to have it done.

They sent me to the Oral Surgeon they use, and the lady at the front desk was very rude to me. They didn't take my insurance and I would have to prepay for the service I was getting in full!! I don't know how they stay in business if she treats most people this way. I had paid with my debit card $25 for the consultation and she told me she'll put it towards the balance of the consultation fee. I asked her "what??" It was $150 for the consultation fee but I was told $25. And I had to wait for weeks to get my $25 back!! I paid with my debit card and that's the same as cash, but because Dr.Reynolds DDS had to write me a check, I had to wait for my money and then they wouldn't mail it, I had to go to the office and get it. And now Aspen Dental is constantly bothering me to pay for the X-ray that should've been pre authorized and it's $400!! I'm disabled and elderly and they knew my financial situation.
