Met Dr. Carr and he explained everything that would occur. Sam (Samantha) did the imaging, quick and easy using their digital equipment. Back to the chair for a consult and a clean. Both Dr. Carr and Sam has a nice gentle touch. It all seemed thorough and professional. I can only speak to this procedure but for the price of half a bag of groceries at the Whole Foods next door I received a proper cleaning and exam. I'll be back.

I've had numerous dental issues and I can't say enough about the level of care I have received. Time and time again Dr. Andy has demonstrated a consultative approach to care. Not one time has he skipped an end of day post procedure follow up call. Dr. Andy was instrumental in my orthodontic treatment as well. I don't think I've ever interacted with a more wonderful administrative team many of which have been a part of West Lake for years. In a world of decreasing connection this speaks volumes about the environment Dr. Andy has created at West Lake Dental. Thank you all so much!

1 Star -- Very Disappointing Experience…read more I was a longtime patient of West Lake Dental, but unfortunately my most recent experience has caused me to decide to take my dental care elsewhere. I arrived for a scheduled cleaning and was told when I got there that I also needed X-rays and an examination by the dentist. I had not been informed in advance that these would be required, so I declined them. I believe patients should be given reasonable advance notice about additional procedures or services. After I declined, I felt that the atmosphere changed considerably. During my cleaning, Michelle became visibly upset and told me a personal story that ended with the statement, "People are assholes." The remainder of my cleaning felt hurried, rough, and uncomfortable to me. I subsequently called the office and asked to speak with Dr. Andy Maples about what had happened. I was told that he would probably call me toward the end of the day. I never received that call. There was also a separate issue involving updated medical records. I was working with Annie to arrange to complete the forms at home because I did not have all of the necessary information with me. During that conversation, the office manager repeatedly interrupted and, in my experience, spoke to me in a disrespectful and scolding manner. I ultimately left rather than argue. I later received a letter from the office manager stating that the office does not allow "abusive" or "inappropriate" language and telling me to find another dentist because I refused to follow the office's procedures. I strongly disagree with that characterization of my conduct. I did not use abusive or inappropriate language toward her. I have been a patient for many years, which makes this experience especially disappointing. I believe patients deserve clear communication, courtesy, and respect when they have questions or decline something they were not previously informed about. I have decided to find another dentist. I am posting this review simply to accurately describe my experience and to let other patients make their own informed decisions.

They also said I needed to see a specialist who required an $800 fee just to sit down and talk with them before they would even look at my mouth. (How much of a kickback do they get from the specialist they're referring people to when they don't need to go to a specialist?) I went elsewhere. Turns out what they said was wrong isn't actually wrong but there's a couple of other things that are wrong that they missed. And all of it can be done by a regular dentist, no specialist needed. It's like a treatment streetom conveyor belt at the Loveland office. If you care about your health, time, and money, go elsewhere. Stay away from these corporate-owned and run dental offices like open and affordable, because they don't care about you or your dental health.

The older blonde hygienist, Christine, is not someone I'd ever trust again. She tried to collect the funds that second, hurry, hurry sales pitch. Highly disappointing and wish the dentist would have caught the lies, after she came to introduce herself. This felt like a rushed, impulse sales pitch. They put fear and doubt in you to think you may all of a sudden have a problem. I don't even have any red gums, even post flossing! What a disappointing experience.

Dr. Engelhardt is the best dentist that I've ever had. He is caring and sensitive to patients…read moreneeds. Recently, I had a root canal and Dr. Engelhardt throughly told me about the process and made sure that the crown fit on the tooth just right. Everytime I come in for a cleaning he tells me that if I ever have an issue at night or on a weekend that he'd be more than happy to come in to the office and take a look at it for me. I recently had a cleaning scheduled and was running late due to an emergency phone call I got from my husband that he was at the hospital with his Dad and that he was looking at having his foot amputated. My appointment was scheduled for 11:am I phoned them at 11:14 and that I can be there in 10 minutes. They told me that I would have to be there by 11:15 or my appointment would be canceled with a $50 cancellation fee. The office manager Kimberly, said she understands people have things come up but couldn't schedule another appointment unless I paid the $50 feet. But I didn't cancel I was running late. I've never missed or even late for an appointment. Will never go back again!

The receptionist had me on the waitlist for a sooner appointment and I was able to call me and get in weeks sooner than my scheduled appointment due to a cancellation. I love how she answers the phone and there's no robot "press 1 for this and 2 for that" to try to get through to someone. The hygienist was amazing. So friendly and gentle on my teeth. The best cleaning I've ever had in my 32 years! She spent a lot of time with me doing a really thorough and detailed job. I usually dislike going to the dentist because it's uncomfortable and I hate the sucker thingy but I had no anxiety or anything here. The dentist was also great! He came in towards the end of the cleaning to check my X-rays and check all my teeth, and discuss any dental concerns I had. Overall, it was clearly wonderful. I didn't feel rushed through at all and they have excellent covid procedures to stay safe for the staff and for the patients. They made transferring the paper work from my dentist back in Texas so easy. They were very open to working with my busy schedule, and they call me/send reminders a couple days before my appointment (which I really appreciate because I would forget) . Everyone that works there is so friendly I don't dread going to the dentist at all any more. I've gotten a root canal, several cavities filled, as well as a cleaning and it is always painless and the recovery (if there is any) is always super easy. I would highly recommend this dentistry, its a great environment with great people that know what they are doing :)
