Dentists are very hard to scale especially when you have had mediocre ones before and are just blown away by great service, but Dr Steven Lee is awesome!! I came to him after a referral and how they raved about him and his work. You know as a skeptic, i was like ok suree, but Dr Steven Lee is very nice and has great bedside manners. He is very thorough with his work and actually points out which areas he is working on and what I should do. I believe the wow factor would be that when he applies anethestic, you do not feel the pinch of poke of the needle to your mouth. I mean thats freaking amazing! He will show you pretty much a before, during and after of your tooth so you are fully aware of how your teeth is being worked on. Seriously! This is my first visit to Dr. Lee's office for dental cleaning and examination. Wow! Was I impressed with Dr. Lee, his staff and office setting! First off, Lucy is really a very charming, professional and friendly person! If I'm not mistaken, I believe she manages the office and, if so, is very organized and helpful! In the various times I've spoken with--and received emails-- from her I've found her to be very polite and courteous. Truly, she is a pleasure to talk to! I really like Dr. Lee because he is very articulate, knowledgeable, and patient when explaining and showing you what finds during the course of his examination. He takes his time in talking to you, and I never felted rushed or that he was in a hurry to get me out the door. He also cleans your teeth, and does a very through job. It was a pleasure to meet him! I also liked his dental assistant, who seemed to know what to do and when without a lot of prompting during the examination. She, too was very helpful! The office was well prepared to open up in accordance with guidelines establish for dental care during the covid-19 pandemic. Briefly, no waiting in the reception area, everyone was properly masked and covered as if they were preparing to perform surgery (LOL)! They have you use generous amounts of hand sanitizer before you enter the exam room and before you leave the office. Also, you place your mask on a fresh piece of paper towel that is laid on a clean tray (inside of mask is facing down to the tray), then have you thoroughly rinse your mouth before the doctor comes in, then after he is done. You also have to submit a questionnaire when you arrive regarding covid-19. Even the pens are covered in plastic to keep them germ free. Given how thorough they are to keep covid-19 at bay, I'm sure they wipe-down and sanitize everywhere when a patient leaves. I also thought the fees charged are very reasonable, and Lucy will explain them too you at the time you make your appointment. Any follow-up visits, which I have, she will also tell you what the fee is. I highly recommend this dental practice, and now that I have been there, I can understand why Dr. Lee and his staff deserve so many 5-star ratings, including mine! read more

Thorough, skilled, and a perfectionist - all qualities you would need in a great dentist and all of the qualities I would use to describe Dr. Lee. And he accepts my work dental insurance. SCORE. My husband and his parents have been going to Dr. Lee for awhile so I decided to jump on the bandwagon. I had a nightmare-inducing dentist back in SF (she improperly filled a lot of cavities that were most likely unnecessary fillings) so going to a new dentist makes me more than a little nervous. Dr. Lee has been slowly reconstructing my fillings and while it's long and laborious work, he's doing a wonderful job. My teeth are feeling great and he's always very attentive to the patient's level of sensitivity & pain. He is very gentle when in your mouth and you don't even feel the needle when he administers numbing shots. He is super patient and always answers every question. All the staff is super friendly too! My research paid off...Big time, beyoud my expectations! The staff he has are friendly, and professional. The office, waiting room, and examination rooms are clean, and inviting with a beautiful "green belt" view. The best part is Dr. Lee, he is the best dentist I have ever had. I first saw Dr. Lee after my wisdom tooth spontaneously cracked in half a few years ago. Yipes! I thought the tooth was a goner, but his awesome hygienist/assistant/all-around-doer-of-stuff got me in for an appointment promptly, and Dr. Lee did the biggest filling I've ever seen and managed to save it. Extra points to him for not being one of those dentists that says "What? Wisdom tooth? I'll schedule the extraction for you..." I used that tooth, and this guy was willing to go the extra mile to let me keep on using it. And it didn't cost an arm and a leg... or a tooth. =) I'm also a big crybaby about needles going near my mouth, but Dr. Lee makes it quite painless and as non-miserable as needles in your mouth can be. My cleanings are always efficient, sparkling, and free of nicked gums, and all my fillings have been minimally unpleasant and expertly fitted. Two thumbs up! read more

First of all, I am writing this review from the point of view of a guy who has a deep distrust for mechanics and dentists. I haven't been to a dentist or needed one for over 20 years. (No, my teeth aren't gross. I brush, floss, and whiten, regularly.) I just know of bad experiences where myself and friends have been ripped off because our lack of knowledge is taken advantage of. But my wife's bridge fell out and we needed an emergency dentist visit. Since I felt finding a dentist who is both great and honest is like a crap shoot lottery win, I called my cousin in Hawaii who is a dentist and he recommended Steven. So I called his office at 9 am sharp. I got an answering machine and explained the situation and got a call right back. The assistant was polite, informative, attentive, and scheduled us in between clients that morning. To sum the entire experience up, Dr. Lee was surprisingly EXCELLENT in all categories. All the positive yelp reviews are true. Like the others, Dr. Lee educated us while he performed the dental work with great skill. My wife said her teeth fit even better then when it was originally done. Dr. Lee didn't pressure us for more services or expensive options. He did only what was absolutely necessary for my wife. She went from stressed and distraught to happy and satisfied. He even volunteered information about new dental technology that gave us a less expensive, cost effective solution in the future. But I also noticed that Dr. Lee is fair and straight forward as well. You won't have to worry about a bait and switch routine or inferior work because of lower costs. He'll educate you with options ranging from good quality to the very best and let you decide what works for you. I'm actually considering scheduling a full exam and cleaning for myself after my wife's next month. That's as good as it gets for me. read more

I don't understand why we are so concerned about being judged by our dentist. I mean why do we all aggressively brush our teeth and floss way more often in the week leading up to our dentist appointment? We don't aggressively take medications more than normal in the week leading up to a doctor's appointment. We don't get our hairs in the best shape possible prior to showing up at the barbers. So why are we so worried about being judged by our dentists? Like the disappointment by our dentist in finding out we only brushed once on Wednesday would be too devastating and therefore we should attempt to trick them by being on our best behavior leading up to the appointment like the weeks leading up to Christmas. First off, it's the dentist, not fucking Santa Claus. Secondly, like Santa Claus any experienced dentist can probably call you out on your bullshit. You think a week of longer than usual brushing is going to hide the fact that you never brush your teeth every time you get really sleepy or you get back late/drunk? Either way, if this describes you and your irrational aversion to being judged by your oral hygienist then you should use Dr. Steven Lee as your dentist. As the young impoverished student period I didn't have dental insurance and so I didn't go to the dentist for like 2 years. Then when I graduated and got a job with a very good dental plan, I also entered the young invincible period of my life and continued to neglect seeing a dentist for another year. Finally, when I entered the nagged by your parents to go to the fucking dentist period and randomly selected Steven Lee from other other reviews. Having not seen a dentist in like 3 years made me hesitant to schedule an appointment. I was expecting enough grief about why I haven't seen a dentist to make Charlie Brown jealous. However, Dr. Steven Lee and his staff were the exact opposite of what I was expecting. They were very professional and nonjudgmental. My teeth had obvious staining and other minor problems which Dr. Lee explained step by step. This is perhaps why Dr. Lee my be my favorite dentist. He's very calm and diligent and explains everything fully so you know what's going on. Unlike other dentists that just do their job and are in and out of your mouth like a grape you didn't notice had gone bad, Dr. Lee explains everything he is doing. He doesn't try to hide the ball like other dentists (who are probably paranoid that by revealing the secrets of their dental techniques I would suddenly know how to perform dental work and open a rival dental office next door). What further distinguishes Dr. Lee from other dentists is that he's a full time dentist not a part-time dentist part time salesman. He sees some potential problems with the development of my teeth but nothing critical and therefore suggests, but doesn't try to sell you procedures like your life and the life of everyone you cared for depended on it. I greatly appreciate his no pressure recommendations. He explained the pros and cons of the decision and left the decision up to me. The only downside is the building is a little old and shabby compared to other dental offices I've been to. I think it us to be old apartments before. However, I'm there for a dentist appointment and not enjoy the facilities appointment. Plus because of the nature of the small office I was seen right away without much of any kind of waiting. So in conclusion if you want a nonjudgmental dentist that explains everything about the condition of your teeth in a frank manner than come see Dr. Lee. If you rather be pressured into buying procedures that you may not need right now then you should probably see someone else... like a therapist. read more

He's always been easy going and very concerned with one's level of comfort during the process and is attentive to his patients needs.
