I would STRONGLY avoid this place. At first I thought Dr. Quan was nice but boy oh boy has she proven to be VERY SHADY. Back in 2022 I noticed I had gap between both of my canines that didn't look flattering (I stopped wearing my retainers years ago) so I consulted Dr. Quan about getting Invisalign. She quickly got started on it and I followed her instructions. After my last tray I received my retainer tray and she urged me to buy an extra one for $200 in case I lose it but I refused. She tried to make me feel bad but I stood my ground. I thought that was strange, but ok. Then I noticed my gap didn't close all the way. I told her this and she told me it was fine and eventually my gap would close all the way. On my very last appointment with her she told me I had cavities and I "build up easily" so she wants to see me 4 times a year (even though my insurance only covers twice a year). Fast forward to this year, I recently switched to a new dentist closer to my house. First off, my new dentist provider told me I did NOT have any cavities. I visited him again 6 months later and did X-rays, again, NO CAVITIES. Second, he asked who did my Invisalign and stated that he was surprised my gap was still left open, saying that would NEVER happen if I did my Invisalign treatment with him. Third, he explained to me that my gap needed to be closed for good teeth contact to prevent bacteria from getting into my gums in the future, something Dr. Quan NEVER EVER explained to me while I was under her care. So yes, ALL of these reasons are why I would get a second opinion and NOT trust Dr. Quan. It just seems like she's after your money and NOTHING else. Please avoid this place at ALL COSTS. read more

Let me start by saying I have never had a cavity and have no fillings. I go to the dentist just for cleaning twice a year and usually they are impressed with my teeth. When I went to an appointment here last year, the dentist told me "there's a cavity beginning to form and you should get it filled right away". A staff member asked me when I want to book my filling and I just said "I'm not doing that" with confidence. The staff member said "I don't blame you" because even she knew the dentist was running a scam. I thought about just switching dentists but her saying I had a cavity did cast some doubt in my head even though I've lived my whole life without one. I sent my X-rays to a friend who's a dentist and she said no cavities on the X-rays. I also had two other dentists look at my X-rays and do an in person oral exam. They all stated no cavities. That's 3 dentists saying I have no cavities when this dentist here said I had them. I'll never return here due to the dishonesty but it does sadden me this place will drill a permanent hole in your teeth when there's nothing wrong with them. They offered great service until a few years ago when Dr. Mai Nguyen left and Dr. Quan, the owner, began remodeling the office. In fact, Dr. Nguyen started 'Joyful Dental' nearby, which has 5 stars. Since then, the service quality of Clear Comfort went downhill. The front desk staff printed a treatment plan that double-charged for a service already completed during the last visit, and they didn't apologize for the mistake until it was pointed out. Not even mention that they will charge service that you are not aware of or insurance has not approved prior to service. Terrible! read more

This was our favorite dentist until recently (last 2 years). Our family has dental insurance PPO and yet they still charge $400 For cavity fillings. One day staff call and your insurance covers AB and C and then when you arrive for Your appt they state they called insurance that morning and something with the benefits changes. Front receptionist are not kind when you question them and benefits advocate does not clearly explain anything. We've noticed a decline in service ever since Gloria, Toni and even Ashley (newer staff) left. Curious if other long time patients are experiencing the same Decline in services. read more

Dr Quan told my daughter she had three cavities I wasn't buying it. I decided to visit other dentists for second hand third opinion and they both said her teeth were fine no cavities. Not sure if she's really honest with her work. Wouldn't recommend her safe to say she lost a new patient. read more

Both my husband and daughter did that after their appointment at this location and the results were drastically different. I went to Dr. Quan as a new HMO patient because of the great Yelp reviews. She just examined my teeth (x-rays) and suggested a deep clean. Dr. Quan said it would cost me $500 and warned me that my insurance won't cover the expense. I learned my lesson well from other shady dentists from San Gabriel Valley that they would bill my insurance and asked me to pay the out-of-pocket costs (double-dip). Of course, I didn't give my credit card to the front desk receptionist for $500 deep clean. A month later, I checked the claims on my insurance. She did bill for general cleaning which never happened on my first and only visit. Very dishonesty and shady business practices. read more

I found Dr. Quan for my parents about two years ago. I don't live in the area and they needed someone who spoke Chinese. Dr. Quan was one of the few at the time with some decent reviews so I thought things were good. But nope, I was wrong. Apparently, they don't see Dr. Quan often and the dental hygienists that they see regularly don't speak Chinese. They've both described experiences were suction isn't done timely and they are either choking on the extra fluids or have to stop them from the cleaning. I wasn't aware of any of this because in true Asian parent fashion - they didn't want me to worry because I was busy. Recently, Dr. Quan's office had submitted pre-treatment estimates to Delta Dental (they both have HMO and PPO plans) and we received an estimate for their responsibility. No problem. Then, they started getting calls from the dental office from someone who doesn't/wouldn't speak Chinese about them needing to pay x amount because insurance isn't covering the treatment. My parents had the office call me instead but it sounds like it took a couple requests for them to do so. I spoke with Toni, who reiterated that the HMO plan declined the treatment. I said I know because the PPO plan sent an estimate of patient responsibility already, acknowledging that treatment was covered. She stated their office have had trouble getting paid when patients have dual HMO/PPO coverage and she wanted to be sure Dr. Quan and the office get paid for the work provided. Long story short, there were numerous calls between them and Delta Dental, them and me, and me and Delta Dental. The resolution Toni came up with was for my parents to drop their HMO plan (which they can't since it's tied to other medical benefits) or to essentially sign a contract they draw up that guarantees that Dr. Quan will receive payment for treatment done. I said no, as it is clear that their PPO plan will be covering the treatment and I did get it in writing from Delta Dental that there is a clause in their benefits that there is coordination of benefits between their plans. So after spending two weeks and a lot of back and forth, we decided not to move forward with services at this office and to start treatment with another dental provider. I find it very odd that a provider would recommend a patient to DROP one of their insurance coverages because it suits them better for reimbursement. Especially elderly patients who don't speak English as their primary language. read more

I hate going to the dentist. I hate and dread it so much, I put it off for many years. It absolutely terrifies me. My blood pressure shoots up, my anxiety spikes, and I'm stuck in a cognitive loop of trying to think of multiple other unpleasant things I could be doing instead to try to minimize the pain and fear. But I will not have nightmares about this place. Dr Quan, her hygienist Arlene (such an angel!), and her assistant were so patient with me, and did an amazing job babying my coward ass every step of the way. Arlene will talk you through each step of the novocaine shot process without any surprises, and has her own technique that makes it significantly less painful than any other dentist place I've ever been to. She also checks in on you frequently during the whole ordeal to make sure you're still pain free during the actual procedure. Even their receptionist has a way of putting you at ease with how she speaks to you. I still dread the dentist. But at least now, I'm more likely to follow through with my annual check ups. read more

I have been looking all over south bay for a dentist. I had a bad toothache and they took me in right away. Their office is very clean and it doesn't have this dentist smell (I cant describe it but many dentists I have been to have this bad dentist smell to it). If anything, this place smells like flowers and I love it. The seats are very comforting and they play pop music to get your mind off the fact that you might go through some pain. The first visit told me I needed a root canal and while they don't do that there, they refer me to another office who did a great job. They also told me my dental history and any issues that may come up in the future which I liked because I can then do what I need to do to prevent them. I also appreciate their efforts to make my visits as pain free as possible and they even explain what's happening so I don't feel afraid. By the way, if you are afraid of the dentist, it helps to ask them to explain the procedure as it happens so you know what's going on. Overall, this is my dentist now and I am happy to have one. read more

I found out the gap of the crown with another tooth is big and piled food residue and got infection. She claimed that nothing wrong? Recently I went to see another dentist, he said there is not screw crown. I emailed Dr. Quan several time, she did not respond. 2. Dr. Quan said that my gum is not healthy, and did Fluoride Varnish to improve and charged me $40? I checked online, Fluoride is for teeth not for gum. I asked her why she told me it was for gum ? 3. Dr. Quan also told me that my two healthy teeth are chipped and need to be fixed. Why she tried to damage my healthy teeth? 4. Her deep cleaning was not a deep clean, she rushed and the plaque was still there. 5. Dr. Quan always asked me to pay out of my pocket and failed to let insurance know the charges as required. 6. I could never get a hold of them, my insurance couldn't get a hold of them (and we definitely did not call during lunch or after hours), no follow-ups AFTER they said they would call me back. I had to reach out to my insurance to find out more info when I didn't hear back from Clear Comfort 2.5 months after my initial check-up, and when I finally got a hold of them, the front desk person told me to call my insurance myself because SHE IS BUSY, and then gave me that sarcastic "thank you" before hanging up on me after I asked if I could transfer whatever x-ray they did for me to another dentist. Needless to say, I've had to have a lot of work done (with some still remaining) and I really wanted to find a good dentist. Well needless to say, I found a great dentist at Clear Comfort Dental. Dr Nguyen has been amazing with each visit I've had. From cleanings to crown fittings to fillings. Dr Nguyen and her assistants are always very personable and friendly and they do their best to put you at ease. Often asking you how you are feeling throughout the visit and explaining each step as she goes. I've had zero issues with the staff, the parking, making appointments. It's all been so great that I don't worry about going in to the dentist anymore. The receptionists are always super nice, and the building just recently got finished being renovated so it's very clean and fresh inside. Also just need to add that it's been really easy even during Covid restrictions... They simply take your temperature and have you fill out a one page questionnaire, and of course you wear a mask up until you sit in the dental chair. But otherwise it's a smooth and easy process. I would definitely recommend Clear Comfort to anyone, and especially to people who need a lot of work done. In early December, I had a rather bad toothache and called Clear Comfort Dental to inquire about a root canal procedure. Toni was very helpful and extremely understanding and redirected me straight to the endodontist to save time since I was in pain. Afterwards, they scheduled a follow-up appointment with me to see Dr. Nguyen. Until this point, I've dreaded going to the dentist and never had a go-to place for my semi-annual checkups. But after my experience, I'll definitely be returning at ease! Dr. Nguyen was so kind and thorough when explaining the procedure and all the steps along the way. I've never been a fan of the dentist, like most others. But Dr. Quan has such a quality about her that helps put you at ease with your past feelings (whether it be nervousness, fear, or whatever other feeling you've associated with dentists because of your past experiences with them). She is very detail oriented and thorough and I truly appreciate the time she puts in with each of her patients. She isn't overbooked/over scheduled. So you're not waiting long periods of time. She's very understanding and patient. And it's nice to see that quality emanates to her support staff too. They too are super friendly and helpful. Her office has state of the art equipment. The downside is Dr. Quan is only there certain days, I haven't had the chance to be seen by the other dentist who is in the same office. I had an implant done for a tooth that was badly patched by a previous dentist. After about a year of work on getting the implant, I think I have the most wonderful functioning tooth. Dr. Quan and her staff are great in customer service and handling of billing. Dr. Quan always seeks out the best for the client e.g. for root canal she sent me to a root canal specialist as my tooth might have been cracked. Then she put in a crown. Now my teeth have greatly improved from the previous cleaning due to use of electrical toothbrush and proper diet and frequent cleaning. I came to Clear Comfort for the first time being away from the dentist for a number of years. Admittedly I have a bit of a phobia of dentists but knew I couldn't prolong visits any longer. After doing some research through my dental care providers website and online I thought I found the right dentist for me, Cherine Quan. Imagine my dismay that they decided to set me up with another dentist instead. With normal patients, sure, but as a person who has had poor previous experiences and developed a phobia and did extensive research to find a new dentist, only to be placed with someone else wasn't cool. Dr. Quan totally changed my impression of seeing a dentist! I had horrible experiences from dental treatments when I was a teenager and because of this I would drag to go to a dental appointment every time. However, Dr. Quan and her staff totally changed my experiences! They are very courteous and polite. The staff would work with your schedule for the appointments and call/text to remind you about the appointment. Dr. Quan has very good technique where I never experience any pain during my cavity fillings. I actually just had 3 cavities filled today and a deep cleaning done also. I went through a lot with my insurance company to get them as my new dental provider. They saw me for a teeth cleaning and then later on apparently dropped me without notice. Yes, they dropped me without notice. I found out when I had a toothache and needed to see my dentist really bad and they said "we no longer accept your insurance". Wow. Just wow. The mere smell of a dentist's office induces the nervous poops in my bowels. One whiff and I'll get flashbacks to when I was kid...drilling, drooling, my dentist not meaning to but totally hurting me and scarring me for life. Because of this fear, I have searched high and low for a dentist that does quality work AND also cares about my feelings (my teeth mostly, and by association my heart). And, I have found her! In the past few years, I have gone in for acute problems, routine maintenance as well as cosmetic procedures. Whether a small or not so small problem, I have left the office happy each time. I am generally hard to impress. Within the first couple visits though, I knew I had a keeper. TOP 5 REASONS WHY I LOVE DR. QUAN 5) She is punctual (let's face it, most doctors run late) 4) She never makes you feel rushed or gives you the feeling that your chair time is up. 3) She is good at what she does...I can tell by her physical exam. She's thorough and asks questions based on what she sees (and not by coincidence, the very same questions that are lurking in your brain) 2) She asks what your concerns are and she explains what's going on (you know you've had that doctor that didn't explain much to you) 1) SHE ASKS IF YOU ARE DOING OKAY DURING THE PROCEDURE AND MANAGES YOUR PAIN if you have any. Awesome customer service at Clear Choice Dental, they even allow you to make appointments online. I needed to have my teeth examined because I like many people haven't gone to a dentist in a long time. I made my appointment the night before, and got a response in the morning with an open spot during the afternoon. I called Clear Choice to make an appointment and Toni helped me out. When I arrived, it was a pretty standard procedure for new patients where you fill out the application and all that. Went into the room, had my teeth xrayed and Dr. Quan gave me a breakdown of what was wrong, what was needed, and the team showed great patience and were able to answer any questions I had. Just had silver fillings replaced with resin based composite and I need to really stress this to all... When Dr. Quan is numbing you, you can not feel anything. Not even a prick.
