Dr Kris, her awesome mom Ida, and her amazing receptionist Mary always go above and beyond to make me feel right at ease :) ! They really treat me like family and always ask how my family and I are doing :D ! I went to my 6-month dental cleaning this morning. Dr Kris and Ida thoroughly cleaned my teeth, and Dr Kris noticed that I have a new cavity that had to be filled. Just like before when I had a cavity on a previous dental visit, she numbed me and filled my cavity so effortlessly that I hardly felt a thing. I never feel scared going to her because I know I am in good hands, and she and her staff always go above and beyond for me and all of their clients :D !! It can be hard to get appointments with her because she is so highly sought-after :) !! But if you can get an appointment with her, you'll be so grateful you did :D !! My former pharmacy school roommate and her husband, and one of my previous co-workers also go to her and they are so happy that they do :) !! I know in my previous review from 5 years ago that I had mentioned that parking can be hard to find. As long as you are ambulatory and able-bodied, you can always find parking right around the corner in the neighborhood behind her office ;) ! I usually always park there and walk over. Just be mindful of any street cleaning signs on certain days, and you should be fine :) ! However, if you need an accessible parking for yourself or for your family member, there is one right in front of her office :) !

I would go to other dentist office and all they saw was MONEY and benefits. They didn't care if the patient was in pain. Alhambra Modern Dentistry was the only place that would take me in and work with me. I'm a single mother it can be very difficult financially. The staff are welcoming and friendly. On my first day I had Dr. Self and Jessica. They were unbelievably sweet and understanding about my situation. They helped me out and we create a plan together so that I know what I was getting into rather than getting hit by a huge surprise afterward. Doctor Self is so sweet and is really good at her job. She's really gentle, (So all you scared little cats check her out) She doesn't rush it and wont leave until I'm happy. She also give me family friendly vibe. I really like her! Now lets talk about my girl Taylor, she's so awesome! Very easy to talk to and made me feel at ease. She also took my X-ray. Very gentle! I've been to other places and it felt like they're shoving a whole cardboard in my mouth. Okay a little exaggerated but you get the point, Lol. Taylor answered my many many questions. In fact had a similar procedure done and told me about her own personal experience of what to expect. That put me at ease and actually made me feel excited for the outcome. Thank you! A few weeks later. Like I said, my teeth were bad! Before we even got a chance to fixing the other ones my molars started acting up. Just like a car! You fix one thing something else freaking breaks! I was in pain, like unbearable pain that kept me up tossing and turning at night. I didn't want to wait it felt like my tooth was about to blow up inside of my mouth bad! I went back to AMD the next day and ask if I can be seen. Dr Jacqueline Ly was there at the time and was already full but the receptionist asked her if she can see me same day. She agreed! Hallelujah baby! She was so kind and considerate. Love her energy ^_^ She knew I was in pain. Even gave some good suggestions and let me know the best and cheapest way I can go about it without breaking bank. She did such a great job I felt no more pain right after. She was my life saver! Now my daughter needs to have 2 wisdom teeth removed, so we decided to come back to see Dr. Goo for the procedure. This is not our usual dentist but Dr. Goo was in network for our insurance. We've been here since 10:15am for an 10:30am appt. It is now 1:13pm. She just started her procedure. Terrible business practice to NOT inform your patients that you are running almost 3hrs behind. I brought my son here back in Feb to get 3 wisdom teeth removed and had a great experience. He was the first morning appt so everything went smooth. Now my daughter needs to have 2 wisdom teeth removed, so we decided to come back to see Dr. Goo for the procedure. This is not our usual dentist but Dr. Goo was in network for our insurance. We've been here since 10:15am for an 10:30am appt. It is now 1:13pm. She just started her procedure. Terrible business practice to NOT inform your patients that you are running almost 3hrs behind. When we arrived at 10:15am (per their emajl to arrive 15min early), front desk didn't even mention they were behind schedule. At 10:45pm, I asked how much longer is the wait and they said they were running behind. They said there were TWO patients in front of my daughter. I asked why no one called to give us a heads up. Front desk said that we were supposed to call ahead to check?! That was never conveyed to us. And if that was a policy, it should be addressed in the reminder emails. I suggested that they should have a policy to inform patients going forward. Why should the burden be on the patient? Front desk girl tried to argue with me that they're not in charge of the automated emails but obviously that can be edited by the Company. We spent almost $1500 for this procedure. Around 11:35am, my daughter's classmate walked in for their 11:30am. Mom said she CALLED ahead and they told her to come in! Wtf?! I immediately told her we've been waiting for over an hour and they should probably go home and not waste time sitting here like us. This is completely ridiculous.

When I brought this to their attention, they completely ignored me and stopped responding to follow-ups. Even worse, they recorded incorrect treatment in their records and billed me for work I never received -- clearly so they could double dip by charging both me and the insurance company. This kind of behavior is incredibly unethical and possibly fraudulent. I wouldn't recommend this office to anyone. Be cautious if you go -- triple-check your insurance statements and request a full itemized bill. What they did to me was shady and wrong.

It's very unfortunate, but I can't go back, and would recommend to all, to get second and third opinions when it concerns your health, not all doctors and dentists are good, we put our blind trust into these folks, with sometimes very negative results.
