Consistent high-quality care from the doctors, surgery center, medical assistants, and clerical staff. I likely would be blind without the care I received there. For decades, working with other board-certified opthalmologists in other parts of the country and even where I now reside in the Pacific Northwest, I had not been properly diagnosed or treated for the family genetic trifecta I inherited: glaucoma, macular degeneration, and cataracts. I came in for a consultation for possible eye surgery. I greeted him with manners and put my best foot forward, only to be insulted and discriminated by him. What made it worse was that my 5-year-old was present. He told me I would be partially blind during recovery and that I would need someone to drive me places. I told him my mother could help me. He then turned to his colleague, who was taking notes for him and mocked me. Dr. Brady was talking to and treating me like a child. I am a 29-year-old woman, a paying customer with a minor present, and he chose to act very distasteful and unprofessional on every level. Setting such a disgusting example for my child. After treating me like that, I will never trust this man to operate on me or anyone ever. He was recommended to me by another Doctor. This man does not deserve any recommendations for his lack of professionalism and lack of safety for others. read more

He was very, very late for our appointment and then refused to answer our questions about his diagnosis of glaucoma because he was running behind and didn't have time. Horrible communication skills. Lacks compassion for patients. read more

I had cataract surgery last year. I was led to believe I would have great distance vision, but might need reading glasses. I understand selecting lenses is (obviously) not an exact science, but was disappointed that my vision was so bad after surgery. I was told "Well, you had Lasik before. That makes it hard to select the proper lens for you." It might have been nice to mention that, BEFORE the surgery. During the pre-surgical exam, the tech who had "been doing this for years" told me she was more than 90% sure my distance vision would probably be "about perfect" after surgery. But what really bothers me is a doctor who will lie to your face. I had paid extra for lenses to correct astigmatism. After surgery, Dr. Brady told me "Well, at least we got rid of your astigmatism." What, did he not think I might not get that checked out? Exams by an optometrist, and an ophthalmologist showed me that was a complete lie. They said "No, they did not correct your astigmatism." I have no use for a doctor that will so blatantly lie to patients. read more

I had cataract surgery with Dr. Brady along with another procedure at the same time. He is honestly the best in his field. You can't find a more experienced and skilled doctor. This place never fails to disappoint me each and every yearly visit for myself and my family of 4. The receptionists are immature, unprofessional and just simply rude. They ask for my medical insurance each year, then we remind them it's not medical we have separate vision coverage which they seem to forget yet remember our copay amount. This year I saw Dr Brady for the first time. And the last. Oh my gosh what arrogence!!!! When I asked him a question he replied 'I'm not sure what of your rx has not changed very much for you not to understand" Really??? I almost fell off the chair. He spent all of 5 minutes,with me, and part of that what was his bragging about his education. My daughters visit, same unprofessional rudeness at check in, did not verify her insurance when she told them it was not medical (we've had the same insurance for 20 years) but took her copay. Three days later I got a bill in the mail because they did not bill our insurance. I called. The lady in accounting told me that the Dr coded her visit with a medical diagnosis. I asked what, they told me violating the HIPA laws as she's over 18. I had to explain to them that was her medical history that they need to bill our vision coverage. This happens to at least two of us each year. They automatically bill your medical coverage because they pay more then their contract pays with our vision. It's such a scam. My son's appointment I personally cancelled three days before the scheduled date. When asked if I wanted to reschedule I politely said no thanks, she asked why and I told her he planned to see a Dr elsewhere I could hear the instant attitude change in her voice. Weird right? Why take a cancelled appointment so personally? Well about 3 weeks,later I got a bill for a missed appointment. I called and they said they had no recorded of my call. I went through the hoops, spoke to a manager and they finally said they'd remove the charge. Three weeks later I got another bill. Called again and this time they said I owed it because it was from 2 years ago. That was a shocker! After about 20 mins got it taken care of. She,admitted their error. In speaking with her I got the feeling someone had manuliptated the account. To summarize I wonder if they offer their employees % of how many clients they can over charge, charge bogus charges and mess with your accounts. I'm left wondering how many elderly patients they double bill or bill incorrectly to their insurance companies. This company needs a seriously attitude adjustment and an audit. read more

I went with my wife to one of her eye appointments because she had been having trouble seeing for the six months while under Dr Brady's care. She was asking the doctor about better options and the fact that she could not see with the glasses they gave her and I could not believe how he treated her. Upon leaving we decided she needed another opinion. She visited another eye doctor and we found out that she had been living with a wrong prescription for six months. They continued to bill us but we refused to pay and went through months of fighting them before they zeroed the bill out. The manner with which this doctor treated my wife in the exam room was the worst and I would never recommend him to anybody. In fact we still feel the insurance company should investigate and get any money back paid also. read more

As a disabled American Naval Veteran, I select Dr. Brady because he was a former Naval officer and assumed he would have some of the same attention to detail that was part of all of our training. My wife and I arrived early but the doctor was running a little late. We were eventually put in a run with a tech to get some vital information and a basic eye test. We were then put back into the waiting area. Eventually, one of the doctor's assistants called us and took us into another room. She went through some questions and said they needed to dilate my eyes for the exam. Since we had not met the doctor before, I said we would not do the dilation until we met the doctor. She told us it was IMPERATIVE to be dilated to do the exam but again, I said I wanted to meet the doctor. Being a former Navy man, I knew he was trained not to give up control to someone you do not know. As part of our military training, Sun Tzu teaches us not to relinquish power. What happened next was shocking. Dr. Brady entered the room and immediately began scolding us for not obeying his instructions. He told us that he pays his staff to do what he wants done and nothing else will do. Then he said we no longer had time to do the examination (though we had been there over 45 minutes), we had not followed his orders and he now have a more important matter to deal with at Mary Bridge. I can understand that he may have something more important to get to and we failed to OBEY, the patient has rights to select what they think is best of them. Dr. Brady's arrogance is not part of his Navy or Seal training. He may be a big fish in Gig Harbor but every patient is entitled to make their own decisions as to what they wish to do and are not obligated to OBEY the doctor's ORDERS blindly. As par of our training, Musashi taught us that understanding the ways of others helps us understand ourselves. Dr. Brady does not have the compassion to understand the needs, thoughts and wishes of his patients because he only sees things his way. I have found the staff from the front office to each exzam room to be very kind, courteous and .professional. My exzam has been the most detailed up to date process that I know to be available. I find Dr Brady to be professional, precise, knowledgeable , dedicated and compassionate and direct. My service from each location that I visited Puyallup,, Gig Harbor and University Place to be very courteous and professional. My eyesight has been majorly impaired since I was 8 years old, I am a "mature" woman now with grandchildren and for the first time in years, I can open my eyes and see, as well as sleep without my eye glasses under my pillow or in my hand . My husband is thrilled for me and I am thrilled most of all. I am grateful for the care that I have personally received from these facilities . I have typed my message here for you be it perfect or imperfect with my new vision just two days after surgery, all without readers or eyeglasses! I have great expectations! I strongly indorse Dr. Brady's knowledge, professionalism, and manner of care. Dr. Brady performed cataract surgery on my eyes, which can be disconcerting to anyone. Everyone on the surgical team, from the receptionist, the nurses, the anesthesiologist, to Dr. Brady himself did everything to ease my anxiety. The results are nothing short of miraculous. I had an exceptional experience with Dr. Brady. Scared about having to have cataract surgery, I choose Dr. Brady after not "clicking" with my 1st provider. Dr. Brady was extremely professional, knowledgeable and compassionate, answering my questions and concerns. I love checking in with the computer kiosk for my appointments. It is quick and easy and only one time I waited more than 10 mins to be seen. I found all of the support staff to be skilled. I interacted with several but specifically Christopher, Sarah D2, and Alexia were great. I had my 1st surgery Feb 2017. It went so well, I barely remember it. Kim, my nurse, was the greatest. I signed in waited 15 mins, and 1 hour later I was walking out the door. A month later, I had my 2nd surgery, this time with nurse Lisa, (my 2 anesthesiologist were superb also); longer wait for surgery even though they called and had me come in earlier than my surgery time, but one hour after walking into pre-op, I was going home. Dr. Brady had explained that since I previously had Lasik surgery it may be difficult to get the perfect lens replacement. I have had a total of 4 post-op visits and currently have 20/15 vision and no night halos when driving like before. I couldn't be more pleased. I am retired military and an RN. My driver, is a surgical RN and both of us agreed that this is one of the best organized and operated surgical services we have dealt with. I also want to give accolades to Shawna, the surgical scheduler. She answered questions for me and really decreased my anxiety. I would highly recommend Dr. Brady for vision care.
