We recently got a kitten and I can not tell you the attention each and every staff member has given our cat at each visit. We never feel pressured into doing any kind of costly procedure or vaccinations that we are not sure our pets need. The prices are also very comparable and fair and the Dr's and staff are always able to take the time to answer any question (and I always have a lot) during your visit. The office staff is also very friendly and organized, always calling the day before an appointment to remind you of times and very friendly. They even offer an on-line service where you can see all of your pets vet records, which is very helpful.

Here are some examples: He has called me during late hours on Friday evenings & with dire prognosis of my pet's health only to give very vague analysis (leaving me with suspicion that he does not fully understand what he has just relayed to me at last minute) & on several occasions when I've tried to return his calls in order to get some clarity: He screams Bloody Murder as to how DARE I CALL HIM ON HIS HOME PHONE & TO NEVER TO CALL HIM THERE AGAIN!!!! This has Prompted me to realize that I have to literally wait by the phone for his incoming call. If I was shown to be frustrated & upset at from his message, since he does not have charts & explanations in front of him: he has even gone as far as to have slammed the phone in my face, knowing full well that I cannot call him back. Unless you don't mind dealing with a Sadistic Vet doctor who MICROMANAGES your DOGS health on the Fly & on the Run meanwhile, charging you with Astronomical amounts of Money each time: then this sociopathic Doctor is for you. I just wished to have never gone to this Rotten Man of a Vet Doctor!!!

Dr. Sachar diagnosed Ripley, after which point we were primarily seeing the oncology team at VCA Shoreline (who were also great). Upon Ripley's passing, MAH sent me a heartfelt condolence card signed--with thoughtful messages to match--by the entire hospital staff, which was incredibly kind (we had only been going to MAH for about a year after moving to Milford, so it's not like the whole staff knew us intimately, which made that kind gesture all the more surprising and appreciated. It's very scary and disconcerting to be told that if you don't sign something allowing them to do whatever is necessary to your pet they could die while they are taking the time to get your permission. I was there for 3 1/2 hours while they provided care for my pet and I wasn't given an update at any point during that time. I understand the need to get authorization for emergency treatment, but once they realized it wasn't an emergency I would've liked to have been given updates and choices in his care. Before they even came to me, they had racked up almost $1000 in charges. It's very possible I would've made the decisions to give care anyway but I would have liked to have the choice

Sophie just turned 10 yrs in December 2020 and she was our lil trooper. Sophie traveled across the country from the Midwest to Southern California to San Francisco to Connecticut and Florida as we followed her daddies career. She was so funny and quite the little character. She was such a happy girl thru the years and was a constant shadow no matter where we went. She loved her treats (even the ones I snuck over to her). Going for car rides just excited her so much she could hardly stand it and usually beat us to the car just waiting looking back at us. Her days at the doggie spa (shampoo blow dry, nails, teeth and the dreaded glands) just tuckered her out that she just slept once she got home. We will miss Sophie and just knowing the staff at Dr Vargoshe's was there for us in her passing brought comfort.
