Their dog was older and having some issues breathing on and off that previous vets in CA were dismissive of/couldn't figure out. We brought Quincy to Spring Glen and had a great experience with the vet. It was a friendly, efficient appointment with a referral to Central Animal Hospital for what ended up being a correct diagnosis by Spring Glen that needed surgical intervention. Spring Glen didn't even charge us for that visit! Years later, after Covid, we welcomed another dog to the family. If you remember how many families got dogs during that time and how it created an extreme demand on vet offices we were prepared for a long wait and hard time finding a vet taking new patients for Pip. Despite Quincy passing years before and therefore not being active patients anymore, Spring Glen welcomed us back despite the insanely full schedule. It's now been a couple years and we have zero complaints. Dr. Mags is so thorough and informative while being chatty and friendly. They're upfront and fair with billing and do a great job of explaining the pros/cons of anything discussed. Spring Glen reminds us of our favorite vet from decades ago in CA before they got bought out by one of the big franchises :-( Welcoming, informative, and fair.

You can tell that they care about the well being of their patients (which are the pets). They provide all the options without pushing you into one or the other. I knew my pet was in good hands. We…read morebrought our cat here out of convenience because it was close to work if we needed to drop her off for the day. Big mistake. In the beginning, everything was fine. Then the miscommunications and misinformation began. We wanted to get our girl spayed. We brought this up several months ago but pushed it off so we could do it at a time when we were off from work to keep an eye on her during her recovery. When we brought it back up, we were originally told we would need to get new blood work and an ECG done. All well and fine, we knew we'd need to get the tests done and had waited too long for her previous blood work to be useful. When we called to get the blood work scheduled, we were told we didn't really need to get the ECG done if we got the blood work. Weird that wasn't what we were told originally but we made the appointment. When we brought her in to get the blood work done, we were told we didn't really need to get the blood work done if we were getting the ECG. Should have been the biggest red flag in the world but we left without getting the blood work done but did make an appointment for the spay so we could make sure we were getting the date we needed. They also told us they would let us know when the tech would be in to do the ECG since the tech they used only came in a couple of times a month. We never received that call! It got to be about a month out from the procedure and they still hadn't contacted us. I went in to figure out what was going on. That's when I found out that what I had been told originally was the most correct. We should have both blood work and ECG done before the spay. That should have been the final straw but we were lucky enough to have one more ECG visit before the date of the spay and we able to get the last spot. They scheduled the appointment and scheduled the blood work to happen at the same time which was 2 weeks out from the procedure which we were told was the latest the blood work should be done. We drop her off for the appointment expecting to get a call back when she was ready to be picked up. What we weren't expecting was a call back that the ultrasound tech had LEFT BEFORE HE EVEN SAW HER. We were floored. In an effort to save face, the vet comped the blood work. When I went to pick her up, one of the in house techs told me that they were unsure if they could get the ultrasound tech back before the spay, but that we didn't necessarily need it to move forward. So, we were back to blood work but no ECG! I told them I was not comfortable with that. When they called back with the blood results they told us we could get the ECG done 2 days before the spay and we would get a call when he got there so we didn't have to leave the cat there. We were already reluctant but agreed hoping we could salvage the situation. When my sister brought our cat in, she was brought back and THE ULTRASOUND TECH IMMEDIATELY LEFT to go to another appointment. She waited for 40+ minutes for him to return to get an ECG that took less than 10 minutes. When my sister called the next day, she was told that the results wouldn't be available before 5 pm. Mind you it's now the day before the spay and we still had not heard anything about what we needed to do to prepare her or when she needed to be brought in. When I walked in, I got a brief run down and told them I would be waiting there for what I thought would be over an hour for the results of the ECG to be in. Within 15 minutes, the receptionist answered a call, conveniently on speakerphone she couldn't figure out how to turn off, saying the results are in. All trust lost, we promptly cancelled the appointment and will NEVER be stepping foot in this awful place again.

I would strongly advise against using Ridgehill Animal Hospital…read more I arrived right when they opened without an appointment because my dog had been in visible discomfort for hours and I was hoping they could fit him in at some point during the day, given they had his full medical history. Instead, I was immediately turned away by a receptionist with no compassion and told to go to the emergency vet down the street. I spent time outside trying to keep him comfortable, and after seeing other clients arrive, I went back in to ask if there was any chance he could be seen later that day. I was told "nothing today" and dismissed again. During this time, Dr. Pearce did not acknowledge me or my dog at all. I later went to Central Emergency Veterinary Clinic, where the level of care and empathy was night and day. Ridgehill never followed up to see how he was doing. When it came time to euthanize my dog, I was told there were no appointments available with his primary veterinarian until the following week. I was offered a late Friday appointment with another provider, which I accepted. On the morning of that appointment, I called inquiring about the process I wanted to be present for the entire process, including catheter placement. I was initially told "you can ask when you get here". The receptionist did ask and came back and I was told no. Then, I received a call a few minutes later saying the owner had canceled my appointment entirely and that I should "go somewhere else." Canceling a same-day euthanasia appointment and turning away a distressed pet owner in that moment is beyond unprofessional--it's inexcusable. This practice demonstrated a consistent lack of compassion, communication, and basic decency. I would never return and strongly recommend others seek care elsewhere.
