The accountant is rude and condescending without regard to the customer. There was no way to get a word in without a passive "uh huh" "hmmhm". Diane is aggressive in her tone without being provoked. They are willing to speak ill of a business, that is no longer the same owners and decline offering extended services. However, quick to cash a check knowing it is a double payment. How they are still in business is puzzling. read more

This place has everything you could need for the kitchen, bar, restaurant, bbq, or a million other needs. I went in to buy a marinating pan for my husband. They were so helpful. Several people asked if we needed any help. We told them what we were looking for and they guided us right there. Prices were reasonable. I never knew this place was there. Today I went in to purchase a freezer. Spended $1.900.00 dollars.Had the worst experience with the owner. Making this king of purchase i would expect to get a thank you from the Owner or instruction on freezer.Not even a by thanks or anything.I was in a emergency of needing a freezer fast that left me no choice but to purchase one. With that kind of attitude i highly don't recommend them and there prices are sky high.For the future i will be going to chefs toys where they threat you with kindness and appreciate your business and care for there customers.Not the place to go unless you feel like being treated like shit. read more

Very poor customer service. I try to return a set of knives that I purchased and it turns out I did not need after all. When I tried to return them they wanted to charge 20percent out of th e total purchase...thats is not right!! Considering that that it's been only 2 days after the purchase.in addition the package was not even open..I will never comeback here all the care about is the money they try to get of you.. I purchased an infrared thermometer/probe for $150 plus. It was a Christmas gift for my wife. The probe did not work on it. I carefully put it back together and returned it. The owner pointed out to me that 'electronics items were not returnable.' That was a surprise to me since I was informed that as long as it was returned in undamaged packaging, it was ok. He pointed to a sign on the wall as 'proof'. Sorry I missed reading that. I just went by what the original clerk told me. The owner said they would send it back to the factory and get it repaired for me. I didn't spend all that money for a 'refurbished' thermometer. I asked twice more for a refund and was refused...rudely. I have my credit card company investigating it. This is not the way to run a business. They'll never see me in there or any of my friends again. read more

Stevenson's if famous in our town. Famous for their sheer rudeness! I have been in to this place and purchased many industrial refrigeration and coffee units. The sales pitch is great! I purchased a norlake industrial fridge a year and a half ago...the compressor just went out! But, besides all of that, every single time I call or walk into the store, I have been treated with cold impatience, condescension, and rudeness. Its amazing they stay in business. They are expensive, but they have little to no competition here, so that is why people purchase from them. We are all like abuse victims, not knowing what being treated with dignity and respect and fairness looks like. I think the owners of the company are simply miserable people and take it out on the rest of us. I will make trips to LA for equipment from now on! read more

Lots of good typical restaurant/kitchen supplies. Prices are moderate to slightly higher. I've purchased here often the past decade only because it's the only restaurant supply store nearby and restaurant supplies typically outlast the stuff you buy at regular stores and without the decorations. The men that work there are great: polite, friendly and helpful, especially the older gentleman who usually works the register. And this is part of the reason I don't mind going back. The owners, both husband and wife, are just plain rude however, unfriendly and unappreciative of their customers. All these years I've been coming, NEVER do they even look up when I enter, let alone greet me. They seem to wear a perpetual scowl. I once returned a "stainless steel" mixing bowl due to rusting after the first wash and the owner grabbed the bowl from me, took a magnet from his desk, threw it on the bowl just to have it drop to the floor and said to me the bowl can't rust because it doesn't have iron, otherwise the magnet would stick. The problem is with my water, but he'll do me a favor by ALLOWING me to exchange the bowl. That was my last direct interaction with him. If a competitor opens up nearby, they'll lose my business. read more
