After 5 days in Canada my wife was ready to eat American food again. I told her to use the Yelp app and look for something. It's was a disaster! I kept hearing I don't know what I want! Foolish woman I said was coming up next as I'm driving, she says Steveo's BAM! I was right on it so I quickly made the turn into the parking lot! Next was I don't know what I really want! I'm shaking my head‍‍ Looking at the menu they have everything!!! From wings to subs, sandwiches to Mexican. My response is I can't choose for you! She selected the Beef on Weck! Thankfully she wasn't disappointed! I chose the Assorted Cold Cut Sub - solid choice! I told her you really can't go wrong with food in Western NY and sometimes the smaller places are the best. Place has gone downhill. I used to enjoy getting a burrito here, but the last 2 times the meat tasted off, like they cooked fish in the same spot they made the beef or something. It's happened before and I swore off the place for a while, then tried again, and twice in a row got that same off tasting beef burrito. Not sure if it's dirty kitchen/not cleaning the grill. or what. I'm done though, never eating there again. It's on me giving them a shot to many times to get weird tasting food. read more

Got take out tonight from here and it was pretty good and consistent as always. We got a large nacho with cheese and jalapenos which is simple but great every time. We also got two hot jumbo chicken burritos with rice and they were pretty good. They are a very good size and don't fall apart like some places. Everything is so cheap here compared to everywhere we eat in the city so I love stopping here when we visit family in Derby. Definitely my favorite place to eat in town. read more

I'm not in the Southtowns super often, but whenever I am, I always wind up going to eat at Steve-O's... it's you typically unassuming local fast-ish food place. They have a large variety of burritos, tacos, subs, salads, sandwiches, burgers, loaded fries, etc. and I've never come away still hungry or anything less than absolutely satisfied with my meal. Their smallest burrito, the jumbo, is literally bigger than most other fast food Mexican restaurant's largest... and they do jumbo jumbo and even triple jumbo ones. The large size nachos is a heaping portion of chips with nearly enough nacho cheese sauce to swim in it. In terms of the filling options for the burritos, I am addicted to their Cajun Chicken Ranch. I've had their taco fries, their pulled pork sandwich, and a couple subs, and even a limited time meal which was taco mac and cheese (which I swear should become a regular menu item), and everything is amazing, but it's the jumbo CCR and Large Nachos with jalapeños that keeps bringing me back. read more

Both items were large portion and very tasty. The inside is your typical pick-up/order counter and on the sides are some really nice booths and tables. Its cozy and kind of private because the booths are large and high walled. Nice! Order ahead and pick your order up, or bring a date and eat inside. You can't go wrong. Just frustrated with this place it's inconsistent. Their burger subs are extremely thick, unseasoned, dry beef. honestly would rather have a greasy patty. The toppings are never right or too little. Try using some salt on your burgers . Load it with veggies and cheese, dressings and now you got a great cheeseburger sub. Those thick ass dry burgers don't help the sandwich read more

While in Derby, I'm staying at a house down the street from Steveos so I've been there twice this week. I was not impressed the first time... I got pizza rolls and a chicken souvlaki salad. The pizza rolls were good, but I hated their marinara sauce. It had too many spices and I ended up tossing it. The chicken souvlaki was nothing to be excited about. They use shredded iceberg lettuce as the base. Shredded lettuce is what you put in subs and should not be sold as a "salad". Today I got a steak burrito which consisted of shredded steakum meat with hotsauce. I could not believe the size of a jumbo jumbo. It was the size of a 12 in sub! Holy cow! And that wasn't even the biggest size they had! The steak burrito was good... But not something I would get again. I would try some of their other offerings like the chicken finger or Greek chicken. Their smothered burrito looks amazing! The interior of the place is nice, there are a few booths, a couple arcade games and there are two registers to keep everyone moving. My husband loves the huge burritos, but my favorite is their Quesadillas. We've never had a bad meal from Steveo's. Sometimes when we order the food takes a little longer than expected, but it's worth the wait. Friendly staff and the inside is always clean. Not a ton of seating, but it's usually not super busy. If you're out in Derby and looking for a nice lunch, check it out. All of the portions are huge for the price. My favorite salad is their hot buffalo chicken salad, add onions. We frequent several Lake Erie beaches and fishing spots down this way, and have driven by Steveo's several times. One night while driving home, we decided we would stop somewhere along the way with a decent crowd in the parking lot--because the hub'ster claims the fuller the lot, the better the food. ;-) Steveo's was jumpin', so in we went. Most of the crowd was in the take-out line at the counter, so we easily got a table. The take-out line stayed pretty steady the whole time we were there. Both of us ordered "Jumbo Jumbo" burritos, me a Veggie and the hubs the Steak. We were hungry, and figured the mid-sized burrito would be a chunky one. Well, it was big and long--the "Jumbo Jumbo" is a FOOT long. Like as long as a footlong sub. A full ruler's length, people! And stuffed! They are in no way skimpy. And the quality? I'll say pretty good. It's surely not Mexican authentic in anyway, just glutenous hangover quality food. The veggies were fresh. The steak was seasoned nicely. My one qualm was the false-advertising of the pricing. I asked for some extra veggies on my veggie burrito. The menu clearly states "Extras" and "No produce charge." There is an extra charge for more meat and cheese, but "No produce charge" is repeated. Well, my $7.99 burrito was as much as my husband's steak burrito with my additions of banana peppers, salsa and olives. I didn't catch it in time on the receipt to complain. I will mention it next time. Because we'll stop again when we're in that next of the woods. The food wasn't exceptional, but it's that kind of greasy, giant, satisfying comfort food that keeps you coming back. But you probably want to up your cardio game after you do. ;-) read more

Stevos has gigantic, delicious burritos and great customer service. The speed of service was impeccable and the ingredients all tasted fresh. The portions are large and they don't skimp on the meat or cheese in their monster burritos. They only lose a star for the ridiculous nickel and dime charges on their extras. I decided to drive out to Steveos the other day because I saw a friend on Facebook stating she was going there for lunch stating how much she loves their tacos. I have never heard of the place and I love tacos as much as the next goofy looking guy. For a 20 minute commute, was I missing out? I grabbed a menu and sat down at one of the two remaining tables left open. I didn't want to go all fancy, so I just ordered a plain Beef Burrito - size JUMBO JUMBO. There was an option for a size JUMBO JUMBO JUMBO but I was warned earlier in the day, that it would take an order of that size to take 3 days to eat. I got my beef burrito with hot sauce, lettuce, cheese, and tomato. I'm so fun!!! And not boring what so ever. As I waited for my food to dine in, I realized this was a very popular place. I soon then realized it was more definitely a take out restaurant then to dine in. The tables are nice, so you can definitely dine in. However, inside is very small to feel comfortable. For instance, I waited for my food as two annoying young girls were playing the pinball machine behind me. Kids will be kids, so I will not let that impact my final review. We got our food as I was very impressed by the size of my burrito. I couldn't wait to devour it! I asked myself how I was even going to hold it but I figured out a way! I know this is a Mexican place, but I've never had any Mexican from here. I was working in the area and aimlessly drove around one afternoon looking for an unusual place to eat at. Something other than the normal chain restaurants or pizzerias. That is when I stumbled across Steveo's Tacos and Subs. I was promptly greeted by a tired, but friendly woman at the front counter. She asked what my pickup was under? They must get a lot of take out business?? I told her I was dining and and I've never been here before. She said they have great taco's and subs, anything in taco form can also be a sub and let her know if I had any questions. I ordered I think it was a Cajun Chicken breast sub. I wasn't expecting much, until I saw the sub!!! It was piled high with all kinds of cajun chicken, green peppers, banana peppers, etc what a sub!! Now I don't feel so bad that I was charged something outrageous like 15 dollars for a 12" sub and a fountain drink. THE SUB WAS DELICIOUS!!!!! The kind of sub that you are so stuffed you're about to explode, but you keep eating the rest anyways because you just can't get enough. The atmosphere was different, but clean. The staff I encountered were just friendly enough to make you feel welcomed back anytime. I will defiantly keep this place in mind again when I came ever in the area again for lunch.
