Our salesperson, Brett, was great! He took great care of us. Made sure our pre-owned vehicle was prepped and the things we wanted done on it were handled properly. He had the vehicle up front and waiting for us when we arrived for a test drive. He was very accommodating when we asked to take the vehicle for a pre-purchase inspection. Stevinson's price was fair, but they were willing to knock some off to come down to our price. And the finance office experience was low pressure and accommodating. I recently purchased a used 2008 LX570. It is my first Lexus but not my first Toyota. I brought it to Stevinson's for a list of service items that I wanted completed as we all know Lexus and Toyotas will last a very longtime if you service them properly. So my service request was to change every fluid in the vehicle. Oil, coolant, trans, front & rear diff, transfer case, brake , ACH, lube driveshaft and change all filters. Got the vehicle back a day later. By the way the service writer Patrick was great. I am a pretty good wrench and used to perform most of my own service work, but work and family now dictate that it is best to let someone else take care of these things. I did take the time to crawl under the vehicle to do a quick inspection on the service work. To my shock the transmission fluid, ACH fluid were never completed and I took pictures to show Stevinson's. Also the brake fluid change was done incorrectly and the drive shaft was never lubed. I contacted the Stevinson's and they took the vehicle back and after inspecting the vehicle admitted that the work listed above had not be performed properly. Jeff Diers the service manager said their best tech would go over the vehicle again and perform the service items that were not done originally and double check all the other items. I got the vehicle back from this second service. An apology was given and they washed my car but no other gesture for this mistake was offered. This story gets worse. My wife asked if they did the rest of the service correctly and I said "of course they did, what service minded business would not double check everything after what had happened. ESPECIALLY since this is LEXUS we are talking about." (note always listen to your wife) Well a few weeks later my oil maintenance light goes off. I check with my ODII sensor and the oil maintenance reset was never performed. Also I checked the dip stick and the oil pan was heavily overfilled. I notified Jeff Diers and they took the vehicle back again and changed the oil and reset the computer. I am trying to be reasonable at this point and let Jeff know that a thank you and a car wash is not sufficient for the trouble, possible damage to my vehicle had I not uncovered these issues and serious loss of faith I now have in the service department. I offer what I feel is a reasonable solution of a partial refund for the original work that was not performed. They came back with a 10% coupon for future work or parts. I gracefully declined and decided I will spend the time informing you and anyone who will listen to be very cautious of Stevinson. read more

Despite her injuries, four days after the incident we were shopping for a replacement automobile. We went to Stevinson Lexus, Frederick to look at the vehicle styles. Ultimately we purchased a pre-owned Lexus NX and were extremely satisfied with the final deal. Most importantly, I'd like to acknowledge to service excellence provided Mr. Brian Tyson. Brian went to extremes to ensure that my wife, who had difficulty walking, was comfortable and minimized her need to walk. We noted a couple minor issues with the vehicle and Brian has them corrected almost immediately. We took the "new" auto home. The next day, I noticed a 3/4" crack in the windshield that was overlooked during the test drive. I contacted Brian, his immediate response was that Stevinson would replace the windshield at "no charge". The next day, I received a text from Brian advising me that he had made arrangements to have the windshield replaced, at our home, so that we did not need to travel back to the dealership. I am having a problem with the vehicle now and need to find out if the extended warranty will cover the repairs. In the past week I have left 6 voicemails for three different people to call me back to no avail. Two finance managers and the general manager. Considering I was stranded at the vet office with my two dogs, I expected him to at least be a little sympathetic! This will be my 2nd post, (other family members of mine involved in this ordeal have commented their experience) but it appears as though my grandmothers post was taken down. I assume they reported it to Google as a "false review" or whatever they need to do for it to be taken down. Looking passed the horrible customer service, terrible communication, and distasteful management, they still managed to out do themselves! They were holding my grandmothers vehicle for around 2 weeks as we were calling between Lexus of Greenwood Village & Stevinson Lexus of Frederick to inquire about the extended warranty she had purchased with the used vehicle 2 years prior to current date, (left 9 voicemails with no call backs and waited over 9 days before we had to make a 2 hour drive to speak with someone in person.) We found out the warranty will not cover what needs to be fixed. Little backstory; we were driving back to Denver from Wyoming when the car lost power steering and everything else but power to the engine. We got the battery replaced under warranty (only 23mo old out of an 8 year warranty) a day or 2 later the car does the exact same thing again, anyone with even the smallest of knowledge for cars knows the problem lies between the battery & alternator. Since we just replaced the battery, as the customer we felt certain it was the alternator, but Lexus still insisted to charge us $250 to "diagnose" the problem. To diagnose the alternator you hook a couple cables up to get a reading on the amps it's currently putting out... Autozone and Advanced auto parts will do that for FREE! We decided to not allow any Lexus branch to work on it and took it to our own mechanic, who diagnosed the problem for FREE, which indeed turned out to be a bad alternator. However, I had a family friend of mine pick it up from Lexus of Greenwood before we had repairs complete by our 3rd party. (I emailed them & talked to a "manager" 2 days prior so there was no confusion, they had first and last name of the person who was picking up for me.) My friend told Lexus he's there to pick up for us, they gave him some difficulties before one of the girls at the desk immediately barked "Oh I know that car!" And proceeded to LIE/slander/criticize/my behavior from my 2nd check in. Never-mind the figment of a child's story they had to recall, the simple fact that you would behave like that as a business that prides itself on customer service, professionalism, and integrity?!?! Regardless if the person walking through the doors is looking for a purchase or not, it's despicable! Not to mention it took my poor family friend 40+ minutes... just to get the key, and pick up a car?... it's unprofessional & poor customer service, petty if he was treated as such just because of their personal history with me, and provocative to a certain degree. From our personal mechanic, the entire repair cost was $700, had we went with Lexus, it would have been well over $1,000! Going on the 6th day and the vehicle is operating in good standing order with the new alternator installed. Just seems Lexus will try to get you wherever they can. And if you have any pushback or question them, their customer service, responsiveness, and professionalism will degrade. They may put on a nice show to sell you a car, but I would NOT let them service it or touch it with a 10' pole! read more

Very, very disappointed. Just had my car serviced in CT, then drove out to Boulder for a move. Noticed my car making funny sounds, and made an appointment to bring it in. The soonest appointment was a week later, which i found strange, but whatever. When I brought in the car, they told me they'd do a 30 min. diagnostic, which quickly turned into a 1.5 hr diagnostic, and then they brought out a whopping $3000+ estimate. I asked the service representative to explain the charges, and she just told me it all needed to be done. I asked why, and she didn't give me any explanation other than my engine was getting to hot. I asked if all the work was necessary for me to be driving a safe car, and to distinguish between recommended work and necessary work. Instead, she told me that if they did one thing, they'd need to do them all, and that if i didn't get this work done I'd never be able to sell the car if i wanted to because it wouldn't be worth much and that I shouldn't drive it, either. She wouldn't or couldn't explain why I needed the repairs, and insisted that everything on the sheet was absolutely necessary. Finally, she brought me to talk to the mechanic, (The service associate badmouthed him on the way there, telling me he was no good at talking) and i found him to be the most helpful person I spoke with. He explained that the new timing belt, new spark plugs, and new gaskets they wanted to give me were recommendations and I wasn't due for new ones for over 5,000 miles-- they could just clean up the old ones and use them. He also told me that what I needed to do to drive safely was to monitor the oil levels and make sure to check my oil every 150 miles or so, although I'll eventually need some of these repairs. I was charged $150 for the diagnostic (which i was told would be $60) and for the 3.5 quarts of oil, and 1 hr of labor. Funny that it was only one hour of labor, because I was there for 4 full hours! Now i'm on the lookout for a good mechanic in boulder who can take car of these things without lying to my face. read more

The best car repair shop I ever used. These guys are helpful, polite, they make sure you know what your repair will cost and what's covered and not by warranty. They offer a loaner when it will take a while. The waiting room has multiple TV's, coffee bar, snacks and work stations. They wash and clean your car inside and out even if you just need an oil change. I drive 25 miles to go to Frederick Lexus when there is another dealer much closer, it is a great experience. read more

The key/door motors on all five of my 2003 Lexus LX 470 doors stopped working at the same time. Took it to the Stevinson, where the mechanic explained that this was a case of all motors dying at the same time. Cost to replace all motors: $2,000+. Took the car to Chan Foreign Car in Boulder. Cost to fix: $35 for a new fuse. I know next to nothing about cars, but in this case even I could tell that the Stevinson mechanic was incompetent. read more

I recently took my Lexus RX350 to Stevinson Lexus at Frederick for repair. It is an old 2008 car but is maintained reasonably well and I bought it from the same guys. There were some initial delays but I was explained the reason behind such delay. Work was done, photos were taken (before/after repair) and things were explained in details to me. I was told that I can now take my car on long drives without any worries! So, for the next year I will monitor how my car drives and will come back to modify this review accordingly. read more

After purchasing two Lexus', I thought I would stick with the brand for a very long time. This will probably not be the case. After having a series of very negative experiences with my 17 RC350, I will most likely never buy another Lexus. A little while after purchasing the RC it started developing a tapping sound. This noise continued to get louder and I was able to hear it from inside the cabin of the vehicle. I was able to locate the noise coming from the mechanical fuel pump. I took it in to my local dealer for repair. They told me they were unable to duplicate the concern and the assistant service manager displayed no customer service skills whatsoever in any attempt to help me with my issue. I contacted the Service manager the next business day and was able to come in and work with him and the diagnostic tech to duplicate this noise. We spent an hour test driving and listening to another RC they had on the lot. I was told to make another appointment and they would take another look at it. While it was in this time, the dealer involved the regional field specialist and dug deeper. I was ultimately told that even though they were able to duplicate this concern, it was normal operation. I made a complaint with Lexus customer care and this complaint was escalated twice. Two of the three people I spoke to at Lexus were more interested in talking than actually listening to my concern and again showing any kind of customer service. This includes the last individual who was the highest executive level I could escalate this. They made it very apparent that they were not interested in assisting a repeat customer with a valid concern. They made it very clear that losing any further business was less important than repairing my fuel pump. Lexus advertises their luxury vehicles to be the quietest on the road, but when you bring them a valid noise complaint they don't want to honor the bumper to bumper factory warranty. This is the opposite of what I expect when I invest in a luxury car company most of all Lexus. I did quite a bit of my own independent research and determined that fuel pumps are a bit of a sore spot with Lexus and a bit of an Achilles heel. My vehicle shares the same fuel pump as the IS and the GS. I was given a 2019 GS as a loaner vehicle and the fuel pump was at least 80% quieter. I was also able to determine that the fuel pump for all these cars has 4 successive part numbers. Lexus has obviously redesigned this part several times for important reasons. I am left to wonder if my generation was updated due to excessive noise. Ultimately the unwillingness of Lexus to take responsibility for their product and their customer service leaves me no other choice but to leave record of this and let others know what I have experienced. read more

Long story shorter the service manager / dept. is under some kind of pressure to maximize revenue at seemingly all costs. I was charged to diagnose an electrical problem and at $60/30 minutes they came to me to say that they had checked all visible fuses and wanted my OK to go deeper. @ $200 they were happy to announce that the problem was resolved and that I had a missing fuse that they simply replaced with one of the cars spare fuses. So the " checked all visible fuses" was a $60 lie or the "Needed a missing fuse" was a more expensive one. - Then on my way home confused but with the radio back it occurred to me that they, Lexus, used my spare fuse to replace the "missing" one. They should have barrels of new fuses and leave spares in their customers cars for emergencies, No? It's a $0.20 fuse that most of us don't carry around in our wallets. - They credited my "checked all visible fuses" fee back when I went in for my second reaming a few weeks later. Recovering well - Doc says I should be back on my feet in no time, initiated bankruptcy proceedings. Those are some high dollar cookies! read more

In August, my husband and I went to test drive the Lexus RX. Very nice experience and nice salesman. We were shown a rather used one that had very low miles. It was older than I wanted to go but was assured that it was in excellent condition. I was told the vehicle was inspected and it had no issues. It appeared to be in good condition so we purchased it. Three months later, I took my car back to the dealership for my first oil change since purchasing it. I learned that the car needed over $5000 in repairs. Because it was only 3 months since i purchased the car, they didn't charge me labor. However, I am still very irritated. I understand that there are risks when purchasing a used vehicle but these mechanical issues didn't just happen in 3 months. I will be trading this vehicle in a new RX but not at this dealership. read more

Ron in the service department is great, always enjoy his efforts and follow up, but truly a shame that his sales staff can't help him out because of their rude service. If you aren't a 50-70 year old male that is dressed like you just came off the golf course they won't give you the time of day and if they do it's typically a snarky comment. This type of service has happened not once but four times. When we buy we go out of our way to Lexus in Lakewood where being in your 30's with a couple tattoos isn't a crime.
