We had a neighbor who did not like the idea of the shop going in on our property and made the process really unpleasant, but Rafter P worked with us every step of the way, even when we made last minute changes to appease the neighbor. Rafter P also poured a gorgeous new driveway for us that leads to the house and new shop. I wanted it stamped and stained, and they let me customize the entire thing. The picture I attached is our new farm equipment barn on another property. I cannot stress how accommodating Rafter P has been during the entire process. They go above and beyond taking care of their customers and their customers' property. Once this shop is done, they will be building a custom cabin for us on the same property. I literally show them my Pinterest daydreams, and they make it all happen. During all of this, we had a water line break during the last freeze at our home & a plumber had to cut into our daughter's bathroom to repair it. We asked Rafter P if they could come out to do repairs & within 2 days they were at work. They are doing work for us at 2 job sites simultaneously without hesitation. We have worked with so many contractors in the past & not one has been so accommodating, friendly, or accessible. I haven't even mentioned the quality of their work. Impeccable. And if anything they install is faulty or not quite right, they will make it right and will not waste time getting things done. If you want friendly, respectful, straightforward communication, honesty, timeliness, and incredible results, this is the place. It is an absolute pleasure working with Rafter P!

Since I had no use for it, it was just dead space. I decided to convert it into a bookcase. Roberto, the carpenter, was punctual for both the initial consultation and the job itself. He built the bookcase onsite to my specifications, using stainable wood with adjustable shelves. Other quotes I received claimed the work couldn't be done properly due to the room's wainscoting and chair rail, but Roberto handled it with ease. His craftsmanship is top-notch, and the price was reasonable. Here are some photos from mid-demolition and the final raw result. I plan to have the bookcase stained and caulked around the edges to complete the project. This is part of a larger renovation, and I already have painters lined up. I'll post another picture once it's finished. In the next 1-2 years, we'll be gutting our kitchen, and I definitely plan to use Roberto for our cabinets. Don't hesitate to give him a call. Happy customer!

I sent him pictures of the space and dimensions, along with pictures of what I wanted it to look like. I got a quote right away. He worked quickly and arrived on time. I will never use Handyman Connection again and would not recommend them to anyone else. My project…read morewas to mount a mantle on a brick fireplace. The company owner came out and assessed the project. He was to get back to me with an estimate. The mantle is a very heavy beam. I received the estimate 2 weeks later after calling to ask about it. The estimate seemed really high, but I was told it would require 2 skilled workmen at least a day and possibly another half day to complete the job. Workmen came out a week later, said the brackets to mount the mantle would require a special order and they would get back to me. Heard nothing for 2 weeks, so called the company. Was told I had been sent an email stating when work was scheduled. I never received it. Workman showed up morning after I called. Only 1 workman came and he completed the job in 2 hours. The project cost over $1500 and while he did a nice job and cleaned up after himself, all the job really required was the installation of 3 L brackets and quickly placing the beam on them. This is not what was originally discussed and quoted for. I sent a letter to the company detailing my problems with them. Then had difficulty reaching the owner. Finally reached him by calling the company myself. The owner stated that he called numerous times and phone always went to voice mail. He left no messages. My iPhone recorded no calls from Handyman Connection. Stated he sent text stating when workman would be returning to complete the job. I never received it. I expressed my displeasure with the cost of the project. He stated that he did not base the cost on how many workmen and how many hours it would require to do the job. He based it on the skill required to do the job, the weight and uniqueness of the beam and the fact that he had to supply the insurance to cover any problems. He is making no adjustment in the cost of the project. This company charged an excessive amount of money for what turned out to be a much simpler installation than suggested. In future, I will get multiple estimates before employing any handymen and I would recommend you find someone other than Handyman Connection of McKinney for your work.

When he showed up to do the work, I went over the work we discussed again. I had him redo one item because it was nowhere near what we discussed. The other items seemed to go ok until the afternoon. It seemed like he was being rushed to finish by "someone". He replaced 2 wood columns in the front of my house and the cuts are very rough cut and jagged. The company began calling over and over even before the trash and equipment had been removed from my yard. I sent pics to the company and had no further contact from them

Foundations are broken and shifting which causes repeated broken water lines. Current management is completely incompetent and useless. If you complain when the grass doesn't get cut and over grows they will try to evict you. Outrages water charges because of all the water leaks. Most people move out in the middle of their lease because of all the ongoing issues. Residents complain of the current manager always trying to scam them out of money or be evicted. You want know how big of a mistake you made until you move there and they increase your rent every year. One new neighbor who moved in near me paid $200-$300 more a month then I did yet they had the same identical apartment. You would be better off living on the street than at these apartments.

The plumbing backed up in the shower weekly. Very common with most of the residents in the complex. But the worst part was that at the end of my 6 month lease I moved my father into a nursing home. So we paid the 6 months, then gave the notice and paid for the 7th month. I gave a 30 day notice and moved out 7 days early on the 7th month. I was told by management Rhonda Carpenter that everything was good. Then I get a bill that said I moved out on the 3rd of the 8th month but I had moved out the 23rd of the 7th month, and the following bills were added. ------------------------------------------------- $1.49 Building and Facilities Fee $50.00 late charge + Collection Fee .50 Pest control $117.30 Rent $9.40 Utility --------------------- $117.89 Total ------------------------------------------------ Balance at move out which wasn't even the true date which was and extra $178.89 for 11/3 move out date they stated. But I moved out 10/23 and paid for through 10/31. I had just paid an extra month at 1,133.85 to give the notice and I could have moved out in Sept at the end of the lease since we had moved my father a week before the end of that month. But I had not given the notice and the extra time to move was helpful. So they stated it was 11/3 (8th mth) and decide to add even more than the $117.30 for extra rent. -------------------------------------- $100 Cleaning charges $997.05 Reletting Fee-stating we gave no notice. -$300 Deposit For a total of $975 owed. ------------------------------------- So the bottom line is that they made up the false move out date and reletting fee to keep the deposit is the bottom line. Just a complete unethical ownership and management. Then I went in the office and she said would talk it over with her boss who made up the false invoice and would call me back. When I showed the bill the manager onsite said well my boss like 60 days and we restarted your lease since we don't do month to month. I never got a call back and I then called in several times and never got a call back. They never said anything about 60 days when I started the process the request to move and was never told in writing either. But they never called back, and they made up the move out date by 11 days after we had moved out and handed the keys back and the onsite management said everything is ok. I also attached the lease that shows the 30 day notice and I was told 30 days when I moved in even if I broke the lease which I didn't. I attached a copy of the lease, the notice and the fake bill so you can see. Bottom line is you can kiss your deposit bye and expect a fraudulent bill out of no where. The fraudulent move out date and bill is just over the top. If I would have been a bad renter or caused problems or been a bad tenant I might see they would try to send that bill, but for me to do everything by the book and then try to con my elderly father out of more money is just over the top and criminal.
