I discovered this park after joining Plano Pacers last night and seeing that this is our monthly location for 5k races. I walked over to check out the course prior to Saturdays race. I loved everything about it! It's truly beautiful in every sense of the word. What I can say, is on a very hot TX day the park itself (not Legacy trail) didn't seem to have a ton of tree coverage. You'll definitely want a wide brim hat and some sunscreen. The paths, wild flowers, lake, creek, trees, birds, bunnies and so on were all very lovely. I've been running a ton of routes since relocating to the neighborhood and I'm always thankful to find new paths to incorporate in, seeing as though I'm a distance runner and have been trying to put together some ideas for various different mileage options from my doorstep. I was very accustomed to an out and back in my previous city that I could easily get over 20 miles on and have been looking to somehow recreate a similar very straight forward route like that. I will most definitely be looping Windhaven Meadows Park and Legacy Trail into my runs. Highly recommend if you're looking for a gorgeous peaceful place to walk and relax. I can't wait to bring friends and family here!

The whole thing is fenced except the entrance but that's where most parents sat while their kids played. The bathrooms are large and clean. There's two restrooms both are family bathrooms. The only downside of the park is that the slides are fast and tossed my 22 month old around and the ropes on the netting is spaced fairly wide so his little feet slipped through but there is an additional net outside the so things can't fall through and those helped him get along. We will come back for sure!

This is the coolest free indoor playground I've seen in a while! Don't be alarmed of how small it…read morelooks from the outside or inside, it packs a MEAN PUNCH! Those slides in there especially the blue one is adult sized and oh so fun! I went down it a few times an almost had whiplash from the speed and all the twist and turns! And it feels like the slide goes foreverrrrr. The entire playhouse is tall enough for adults to play inside which is hardly ever the case at most places! It was jam packed full of people by the time we left, and we got there right when it opened at 10am. Check in is a breeze. You tell the nice lady behind the counter your name and kids name and they give you a sticker. If it's your first time you simply fill out a form and then get the same sticker. Shoes have to remain on and it is located inside what looks to be a mega church! Ample parking and very nice parents who go there.

The indoor playground at Prestonwood Baptist has REOPENED and offers FREE fun to the public 5 days…read morea week (not including during Sunday services). The sweet spot for this playground is probably 3-6 years, but there is plenty to do for the younger ages too. The max age for entry is 10. There are slides, climbing areas, and a rubber-bottomed hill for the kids to run up and roll down. Despite being fully closed in, the play area is bright and doesn't feel cramped at all (in comparison to Irving Bible Church's THE TUBES). Everything was exceptionally clean. The playground is open M-F from 10a-4p. It is free and open to the public, but you must check in at the desk in front of the play area before entering. No food or drinks in the play area and children MUST wear shoes. This was a bit of a drive for us, so I packed a lunch and after the kids had their fill of the playground, we headed over to the indoor eating area on the opposite side of the church ("The Commons") to eat. Overall a great morning of free fun - THANK YOU Prestonwood Baptist Church!

The views of the Lewisville Lake at sunset are spectacular. The sunflower fields are an added attraction when in full bloom. The park also has a porta-potty for convenience. The trail has benches to relax and watch the sunset by the lake. This park has to be a local favorite and I loved the walk along the trail. Will definitely be back.

This place is really one of the best spots to take a short stroll on a date, take your kids on a…read morewalk, or just sit and hang out. There is a fountain in the middle of a pond that is quite relaxing to listen to. The area is a nice and safe area so you don't have to worry about this either. It's located behind the shops at Legacy and the Marriott. It seems like a nice place to come to after you shop or eat at the shops. The ambience is relaxing and there is plenty of parking in the area, too. I love how clean it is and the water doesn't smell or anything. This place is well kept and you can tell. I can't wait to have date night here when this pandemic is over!

This is a great park with large open spaces and plenty of sports fields (football with posts,…read moresoccer, baseball). The playground is not on par with some of the others in Frisco parks, but is nice and new. There is also a nice bathroom right next to the playground area. It is near some large powerlines but not that close. There is also a dog park nearby. It is kind of tucked away and not very crowded so let's keep it that way! My husband and I came here for a weekend trek, and it's easily one of the best outdoor spots in North Texas. What I love most is the versatility. Whether you're looking for a smooth, paved stroll or want to get your boots a little dusty on the dirt hiking trails, they've got you covered. It's a great mix of elevation and flat stretches. It's a great spot for everyone. Pets are welcome (on leashes!), and there is a fantastic playground near the parking lot--perfect for kiddos who still have energy to burn after a hike. You'll see a beautiful variety of plants and likely some local wildlife. Just a heads-up: they do have warning signs posted for snakes and poison ivy, so definitely keep an eye on your surroundings while you explore. The parking lot is huge, but this place is popular! We arrived around 1:00 PM and it was nearly at capacity. We were lucky to snag a stall, but I'd definitely recommend arriving earlier in the morning if you want to avoid the parking hunt.

Arbor Hills is a place near and dear to my heart. This is one of the best places to get away from…read morethe crowded areas and just enjoy nature. The entrance area is always crowded so people don't get to see how amazing this place is. It's incredible because once you go off trail, you can see for miles to around and the sunset views are phenomenal. There are plenty of shortcuts around this area if you just want to do a quick loop to the observation tower and back to the main entrance. I took my old dog out here years ago and went off trail to isolated areas. I hope other dog owners get to see how happy she is and how much joy dogs get from being in this place. It's fairly common to see people taking family photos here but again, I truly recommend walking in off trail areas for 10 minutes to get spectacular photos.
